Abstract

Tax is recently getting the most important income source for the country. In the case of Indonesia, every year the government has increased the annual target of tax income, but it has not been easily and successfully to achieve. In 2013 the government wishes to target the sources of income tax deriving from that small and medium business scale. The research which focuses on the medium scale of corporate tax payer business, would like to see and evaluate implementation of Government Regulation number 46, year 2013 (PP 46/2013), by doing simulation and regression analysis. Those corporate tax payers with the annual sales of around Rp. 7,000,000,000,- seems to be facing a dilemma situation to whether or not to comply with. Particularly since this government regulation does not take into consideration the impact to the tax payers cash flow when financial trouble is being faced and even at the time the companies run in loss situation. It seems it has been the time for the government to review the effectiveness of this regulation, how is being implemented across the country, especially by those corporate tax payers who are preparing book keeping and submitting tax report. The issue of accuracy, accountability and financial engineering follows the implementation of creativity accounting and tax accounting treatment, should have been the concern of the tax office. The idea and advices of mandatory audited financial report is prominent in this research, in order to reach the more targeted collecting tax fund from this class of enterprises in Indonesia.

Abstract

The automotive industry is one of the most lucrative market in Jakarta, Indonesia. There are opportunities coming from the low car density, a growing number of middle class and the first-time buyers in Jakarta. On the other hand, there are also challenges car manufactures face that could curtail car sales such as, the presence new public transport, the increase on vehicle tax, and the existence of online taxis. Currently, studies related to car ownership motivation according to the future generation of buyer are still limited. Therefore, this study examined the significance between car ownership deterrents, car ownership motivation, and car purchase decision. This study also analysed the preference of cars according to young people, being the future generation in Jakarta. The final objective was to provide PT XYZ a selection of strategies to anticipate such phenomena. The methodology used was Structural Equation Modelling. The result revealed that car ownership motivation and car purchase decision were significantly correlated, while car ownership motivation and car ownership deterrents showed otherwise. Car attributes such as safety, performance, and convenience were considered as the most important criteria according to young people. The managerial implication for PT XYZ is to consider market penetration, market development, and product development. Keywords? Abstract

This paper analyzes relationship between company performance and audit opinion. We use some financial ratios as measurement of firm?s performance such as liquidity, efficiency, profitability, market measurement and cash flows. This study uses food and beverages companies listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) for five consecutive years from 2009 until 2013 as our sample data. Panel data analyses are used to regress our empirical model. After controlling with size of company and macroeconomics variables namely inflation rate and movement of Indonesian currency exchange rate against US dollar, we find that firm?s liquidity, profitability, market ratios and company cash flow significantly affect the audit opinion. Large firm size does not influence the audit opinion significantly, meanwhile both macro economic variables inflation rate and exchange rate link negatively with audit opinion however do not significantly affect the opinion. Thin volume of transactions in foreign currency among these companies might lead to non-significant effect between audit opinion and exchange rate.

Abstract

The Baduy Tribe is a cultured and friendly indigenous people living harmoniously in the middle of natural environment and far from the civilization. This study aims to determine the level of acceptance of opening up the Inner Baduy as a tourism destination and also to identify the impacts on the opening up the Inner Baduy to tourism development. This study use both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The result revealed that there are three elements are used to justify the level of acceptance of the Baduy people; two showed rejections (needs and desires and opinions on opening up the Inner Baduy). This is strengthened by the result of the interviews that tribe rules and regulations do not allow the Inner Baduy to be opened up. Another finding is proven by the disadvantages that impact the host community if the Inner Baduy is opened up to tourism market. It could cause culture acculturation, a deterioration of morality, environmental damages, and also the decreased quality of local people?s language. For the regional development, the opening up of the Inner Baduy can bring advantages such as improvements of infrastructures and economic benefits. The Inner Baduy is unofficially opened for visits from the tourists but the policy to open it up to mass market depends entirely on the decision of the host community.
