BERDAYA: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by Lembaga Pengembangan Manajemen dan Publikasi Imperium (Imperium Research Institute). The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the area of community services. BERDAYA contains various activities of the teaching staff in Indonesia in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in society. Implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society. Focus and Scope BERDAYA, particularly focuses on the main problems in the development of the sciences of community services areas as follows: Community Services, People, Local Food Security; Training, Marketing, Appropriate Technology, Design; Community Empowerment, Social Access; Student Community Services;Border Region, Less Developed Region; Education for Sustainable Development.

Abstract

The knowledge about the development of potential products in the tourism village is considered important for every tourism businessmwoman/man because every tourism village in Indonesia has its own potential that if handled properly will be able to become a flagship product. Training of Trainers aims to enhance the understanding and knowledge of academicians who will be mentors in tourist village. This activity was held for 3 days at Santika Premium Dyandra Hotel and Covention Center, Medan City, North Sumatera and followed by 12 offline participants and 3 participants online. The participant consists of academicians from various public and private universities in North Sumatera, West Sumatera, Riau, Riau Islands and Aceh. Training results in the form of increased understanding of participants proved by the result of questionnaire given after the training. 100% (15 participants) stated that this material is very useful for anyone who is involved in tourist villages, although 93% of them (14 participants) feel this material is already common (from further interviews, it is known that most of them have taught courses in marketing). A total of 80% of the participants (i.e. 12 people) stated that the materials provided can be implemented in the tourism village, while 20% (3 participants) believe that the implementation still has many challenges due to the limited soft capacity of the people. Although all participants are satisfied with the material provided, there are 60% (9 participants) who believes that the material will need to be adjusted when used tot rain the people in a tourist village, where there is limited education that may cause this marketing material will not be easily understood by business owners in tourism village. Their input is to give some product examples to show which product presentation that is already good and which product still needs to be repaired. Abstract

This community services program aims tofacilitate tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis) in improving English language skills and the ability to guide tours in Panji Village and increase the tourist attraction in Panji Village by helping the tourism awareness group in making tour packages in the form of brochures. In the current pandemic conditions, tourism in Bali is experiencing a decline in the level of visits due to social restrictions imposed by the Government. Therefore, in order to revive the enthusiasm of tour guides, especially in Panji Village, this training is expected to be able to improve the quality of human resources to be better in preparing for the new normal era. The participatory approach method was used where the participants will later be actively involved in this service activity. This program was implemented succesfully, the participants were very cooperative and active in delivering the material.The results of this program had a positive impact on the participants. It is hoped that in the next, this program can continue to be implemented to monitor the development of English language skills of the participants. Abstract

The objectives of this service are, 1) to improve the understanding and competence of lecturers in writing and publishing scientific articles of international repute; 2) provide assistance to lecturers in writing scientific articles; 3) improve lecturers' understanding regarding how to publish scientific articles in international reputable journals. As a result of this activity, lecturers are able to understand and start writing scientific articles in accordance with the standards of international reputable journals and are able to select and sort out journals of international repute that are detected as 'discontinued'. This can be proven by their enthusiasm in participating in workshop activities and the mentoring process.

Abstract

This activity aims to assist and increase the knowledge of the children fostered by the orphanage in achieving a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, which is not limited to being free from disease or disability, especially during the new normal period related to the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this activity is in the form of health education using slide presentation tools. Participants were given material on physical, mental, and social health, as well as Covid-19 prevention behavior and continued with a question and answer session, where there was a knowledge questionnaire filled out before and after health education. The participants of the activity were 10 children fostered by the orphanage where the activity lasted for 90 minutes. Health assistance efforts are sufficient in achieving goals, as indicated by changes in the results of the pretest and posttest questionnaires, but improvements need to be made to further service activities, by combining health counseling methods with other relevant service methods.

Abstract

Kampus Mengajar is part of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, which aims to provide opportunities for students to learn and develop themselves through activities outside lecture class. One of the targeted schools for placement of MBKM Batch 3 is at SD Negeri Murung Raya 3 Banjarmasin. A mandatory forum for students in MBKM 3 must initiate a communication and coordination forum with schools. The Communication and Coordination Forum activity with the SDN Murung Raya 3 school was held offline on April 11, 2022, at SDN Murung Raya 3 Banjarmasin. This activity was attended by school principals, teachers, students of MBKM, and Field Supervisors. The agenda was discussed at the school communication and coordination forum, namely the results of school observations, program activities carried out during March, and planned program activities for Ramadan Month and After. The results obtained from discussions during the communication and coordination forum were competitions in the month of Ramadhan, teaching/collaborating with teachers in the learning process, sharing of IT (technology adaptation) with the teachers of SDN Murung Raya 3 Banjarmasin, and social service.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, people are facing many problems. One of the problems faced is online learning, which the government is now promoting. The main problems in online learning start with teachers who only give assignments without clear explanations to their students, students who do not have technological devices such as smartphones, and no internet network. Moreover, students' learning motivation needs to be improved in dealing with online learning's lack of understanding of parents on how to use online media so that they cannot provide maximum assistance to children at home. This online learning training and mentoring program focused on increasing the capacity of parents to assist children's learning. The methodology used is the lecture, discussion, question and answer, and practical simulation. The results achieved are by increasing the ability of parents to use online media in learning.

Abstract

This activity aims to increase understanding and knowledge of housewives in calculating and recording the receipt and expenditure of household cash properly so that expenses do not occur greater than income. So that the family's financial condition is always sufficient and has savings/investment for future needs so that welfare is realized for the family. The method used in this activity is in the form of training or short household financial management training using the financial management module. Participants are given training with activities using the classical method of giving material and followed by question and answer sessions and exercises/practices; the provision of working papers filled in accordance with the real conditions of the participant. Participants in the activity are housewives who do not work, housewives who work, and housewives who have their own business with an average educational background through high school, as well as the economic background of middle and lower families can attend training well and enthusiastically. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the development of technology that is currently facing post truth on how to educate children and their impact on family financial budgets. The research is qualitative and the object of this research is Karangjoho Semarang. This writing method uses a variety of forms such as interviews, documentation, observation and literature review is useful for digging data. Analysis of the researcher uses creative criticism by pacing between methods and literature then concluding. The results of this study are children sholeh sholekah the results of Islamic religious education in the family in the midst of increasingly sophisticated technological developments even faced with the phenomenon of post truth social media internet can not distinguish true or false information, the more dangerous the children and how far the delinquency of the child influences family financial budgeting. Children's education in accordance with Islamic teachings is very important in the midst of rapid modern technology so that their children become human beings and are able to face complex problems in society. The implication of the research is that adulthood and good character in children will produce a comfortable life for parents, then the amount of family financial expenditure will not occur, but vice versa if bad children fall into the dark world of using technology with various forms of delinquency and parents are wrong to educate, then a lot of family financial expenses will be spent. Abstract

The aim of this Community Service activity is for teachers to be able to use and utilize the internet optimally to develop teaching methods effectively. The training was attended by 10 participants and 2 participants did not complete the training because there were assignments from the school. The number of participants in this training is limited because the members of the implementation team, facilities and infrastructure are limited. The training material is the introduction of the internet to develop teaching methods, the target of the activity is the teachers in the West Jakarta Rawa Buaya Village. Activities carried out by lecture, demonstration and hands-on method with technical guidance. Participants are guided to upload and download, and browse. The participants then exchanged e-mail addresses and conducted correspondence via e-mail, browsing and downloading certain subject matter. The equipment used in this training activity is a computer connected to the Internet for the means of opening PPT program files, Infocus for and Cameras to cover and document photographs in the form of activities carried out.

Abstract

Community Service is one of the implementations of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education activities conducted by Kalbis Institute of Technology and Business lecturers. One form of community service that will be carried out is to prepare the role of parents in responding to digital technology so that it can be utilized as competitiveness for their children. The implementation of PKM activities went smoothly, the benefits gained by PKK RT 026 RW 03, Kebon Manggis Sub-District, Matraman District, East Jakarta after attending the training are: (1) PKK communities can be motivated to develop themselves, can recognize learning methods, by using appropriate learning media; (2) PKK communities know the development of digital technology including the Internet of Thing, Artificial Intelligent and Big Data. (3) PKK communities know the impact of competition in the globalization era which is very influential on children's learning and playing patterns, potential by recognizing the validity of sources. (4) PKK communities can screen information that is useful for families, especially children.
