Abstract

An internal-combustion engine is a reciprocating type of engine in which the working substance is a mixture of gases produced by combustion of fuel in the engine cylinder. A diesel or compression-ignition engine is a machine with self-ignition engine of fuel and internal mixing. The working cycle of a diesel engine can also be completed in two strokes of the piston. The mixture of gases produced upon the combustion of the fuel in the cylinder of the engine forms the working substance which presses against the piston and does work. The pressure and temperature at the principal points that characterize the working cycle of a diesel engine can be determined from formulas of thermodynamics with account taken of the thermochemical processes that take place in the engine.

Abstract

Accident of KM. Putri Ayu at June 17, 2012 in sea of Asilulu, Ambon Island-Maluku, leaving of problem: what its cause factor?; how its contribution?; and what its step to prevent similar accident in future? This research have the character of analytic descriptive, as a mean to explain about factors cause of accident of sea transportation with analyse at occurence of KM. Putri Ayu, and also invite stakeholders to be more comprehend in importance security and safety of sea transportation and generated risk effect of anticipatory negligence of factors, also repair recommendations to stakeholder in others sea transportation. Output of analysis indicated there are 3 (three) factors have contribution in accident KM Putri Ayu, that is (1) negligence of regulator; (2) technical condition of ship; and (3) weather is extreme. For that, utilize to guarantee its form of safety and reliable ship security system in Moluccas, te future : (1) Improving cooperation in between crew of ship, owner and regulator; ( 2) Improving maintenance system of ship; and ( 3) Existence of comprehensive analysis to condition of every sea transport.

Abstract

Dried Eucheumacottoniiseaweed (DES) is one of the main aquaculture commodities in Indonesia. Local farmers plant, harvest, and dry the seaweed, and subsequently sell it to traders. The selling price of seaweed depends on internal and external factors. To maximize their profit, farmers have to estimate the future price development by means of these factors. This paper presents a novel data-driven method reports on our attempts to develop methods to aid farmers in making such predictions. More specifically, we apply data mining to the task of predicting the seaweed price eight weeks ahead, at the time of selling. The data mining algorithm, i.e., classifier, requires attributes as its inputs. In our experiments, we selected three internal and three external factors as input attributes. The internal-factorattributes used are: current price, dirty content, and moisture content. The three external-factor attributes all relate to the weather and areminimum temperature, maximum temperature, and precipitation. All attributes are measured at time t. The output of classifier is a binary classification indicating if the seaweed sales price at time t plus eight weeks is larger or smaller than the price at time t. The data is collected from two publicly available sources and consists of 275measurements of six attributes each.We evaluated the performances of four classifiers on our data set using 10-fold cross-validation. The results obtained revealed that we were able to predict the selling price of seaweed with an accuracy of64%. Analysis of the trained classifier revealed that the main attribute used for predicting the future price is the current price. In conclusion, our data mining experiments suggest that it is feasible to predict the future price development of seaweedselling pricein Indonesia with accuracy above chance level.

Abstract

Every marine and naval architectur indusrties need to produce a ship at a more low cost to maintain themselve as a strong, independent and competitive company. This can be realized by organizing the use of production machines to minimize the total production cost. The research is conducted to detect the use level of production machines from economics view by using break even analysis method. Results show the level of company expendeture at Rp. 12.796.909.00, income at Rp. 13.149.400.00 and profit at Rp. 325.491.

Abstract

In this paper, a new symmetry argument in a vacuum state with strictly vanishing vacuum energy has been studied. This argument exploits the well-known feature that deSitter and Anti-deSitter space are related by analytic continuation in complex analysis. When we drop boundary and hermiticity conditions on quantum fields, we get as many negative as positive energy states, which are related by transformations to complex space. In this case, we have explored indirectly a new perspective to solve cosmological constant problem.

Abstract

Frequently, decision making in company management is faced with multiobjectives and its contradiction where need to be minized in order to receip a maximum profit. Problem of promotion costs alocation of speedy services product in Ambon has a relation with an increasing sales volume policy (customer numbers) through many kind of promotion. It can, in a one side, raise company incomes, and at the other side, multiply promotion costs. The problem is formulated as a goal programming model to provide an optimal cost allocation decision. By running it in WinQSB software, we find number of allocation for each alternative: Rp. 35.005.000 (alternative I), Rp. 31.681.248 (alternative II), Rp. 28.357.504 (alternative III), while other costs are Rp. 48.850.000 (promotion material cost), Rp. 29.800.000 (merchandise cost), dan Rp. 6.000.000 (exhibition cost). The results also show 2.022 as the lowest customer number and 4.632 as the highes one.

Abstract

Warehouse is the basic of national logistic strategy. This research aims to determine an optimal location of an seaweed- end warehouse. We use two methods, Center of Gravity and metode Point Rating, which is aplicated to Analitical Hierarchy Process method with Rating Liberatore scale. This research arranges to select 3 potential location: Dusun Airpessy, Dusun Wael, and Dusun Kotania. Calculation results of those methods recomandate a same optimal location, Dusun Airpessy.

Abstract

Networking embeded sensor is a nodes system with sensing, actuating, computation, communication, and storage resources facilities designed to yield a lower exploitation cost and a reliable tollerance fault technique. Problem is how to design this a backup fault tolerance of this sensor where every kind of resource can be replaced by others. At the beginning we propose a singgle spectrum which more wide than heterogeneous tollerance fault technique for networking sensor that consist of comuication and sensing and can support one another. After that, we shift to two specific approaches which one kind of sensor can back-up others. We assume the errors resulted from malfunction and high-level fault, and each technique has a different efficiency algorithm and effectivity.

Abstract

The quality of education is the objective of every education institusion in order to be acknowledge by their outcome users. That is the reason that University of Pattimura tries to improve their quality assurance of education and duration of study. These have programmed for every student to finish their study on time according to curriculum with a satisfactory grade point. The university proposes Indeks Prestasi Masa Studi Terbobot method to describe the most qualified serviceable faculty, department or study program in accordance with vision dan mission of the university. A research is developed to analyze students performance on 8 faculties, 21 departments, and 50 study programs by calculating student-s grade point dan study duration of study base on graduated book of every graduation period.

Abstract

Especially to man power task, musculoskeletal complaints related to work have caused by unfitting posturs of workers exposured during their daily tasks implemetation. Accordingly, research was conducted to assess the risk and determine the location of musculoskeletal complaints that pottentially occur in the body of ikan asar processing workers in Hative Kecil. The results, based on the comparation of RULA and NBM data analysis, show that detail investigations and changes hove to be done immediately to minimize the impacts since the complaints are taken place at level of 2 and 4. Neck, shoulders, back, arms (upper and low), wrists, elbows, waist, thighs, knees, calves, ankles and legs are founded as complaints locations.
