Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between students' perceptions of parental roles, their learning interests, and mathematics learning outcomes in elementary schools. Non-experimental quantitative research methods with a correlational design were employed. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, and analyzed using SPSS with multiple correlation and regression tests. The results of the multiple correlation test indicated a non-significant correlation (Sig. F change = 0.705 > 0.05), suggesting no relationship between the variables. Similarly, the multiple regression test revealed that neither the perceived parental role (X1) nor learning interest (X2) had a significant correlation with mathematics learning outcomes (Y), as the t-values (0.710 and 0.430) were smaller than the critical t-value (2.086). The obtained value of R (0.185) fell within the uncorrelated category according to established guidelines. Consequently, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between students' perceptions of parental roles and learning interests on mathematics learning outcomes in elementary schools. These findings emphasize the need to explore additional factors that may influence students' academic achievements and to develop targeted interventions to enhance mathematics learning outcomes. Highlights: Study investigated the relationship between parental roles, student interests, and math learning outcomes. Non-experimental quantitative methods were used with correlational design. No significant correlation found between parental roles, student interests, and math learning outcomes in elementary schools. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between academic self-efficacy and mathematics learning outcomes among upper-grade students in elementary schools in Sidoarjo. The participants included 185 students from the Prohibition State Elementary School and MI Muhammadiyah 2 Kedungbanteng, ranging from fourth to fifth grade. The study employed an academic self-efficacy scale and utilized mathematics learning outcomes obtained from student report cards. Data analysis was conducted using saturated sampling analysis, revealing a correlation coefficient of 0.135 (p=0.033). The findings indicated a moderate level of academic self-efficacy in 43% of students, high academic self-efficacy in 17%, and very high academic self-efficacy in 9%. Additionally, the R-square results demonstrated that academic self-efficacy accounted for 1.8% of the variance in mathematics learning outcomes, suggesting that other factors also contribute to students' performance. These findings highlight the importance of considering academic self-efficacy and other influential factors in enhancing mathematics learning outcomes among elementary school students. Highlights: The study examines the relationship between academic self-efficacy and mathematics learning outcomes in upper-grade students from elementary schools in Sidoarjo. Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of utilizing herbarium media in improving science learning outcomes for fourth-grade students. The research employed a quantitative approach, specifically a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design method. The independent variable (X) was the experimental method using herbarium media, while the dependent variable (Y) was student learning outcomes. The study was conducted at SDN Gelam 1, with a sample size of 25 students (14 males and 11 females) from class IV. Data analysis was performed using a t-test. The results indicated that the use of dried plant herbarium media significantly influenced the learning outcomes of the students, with a significant value of 0.048 (<0.05). Consequently, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. The application of herbarium media demonstrated an 83.8% improvement in the cognitive learning outcomes of fourth-grade students, as it facilitated a better understanding of the subject matter. These findings suggest that employing the herbarium media experimental method can effectively enhance science learning outcomes for fourth-grade students at Gelam 1 Elementary School. Highlights: Herbarium media improves science learning: The use of herbarium media enhances the science learning outcomes of grade 4 students, providing a valuable resource for studying leaf bone shapes and connecting it to the surrounding environment. Experimental approach and design: The study employs a quantitative experimental approach Significance of learning media: Limited learning media can hinder student absorption in learning. The research highlights the importance of utilizing effective learning resources, such as herbarium media, to enhance student engagement and understanding in science education. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between voluntary donations (infaq) and prohibited fees in the Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 44 of 2012, as well as the views of Islamic scholars regarding the position of voluntary donations as a means of financing education. The research method used is a normative approach that utilizes legal and comparative approaches. The research findings indicate that voluntary donations, also known as infaq, shadaqah, or amal jariyah, are considered a prohibited fee under the Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 44 of 2012. However, in practice, these voluntary donations meet the criteria for fees as described in Article 11 of the regulation and are viewed by Islamic scholars as a form of social responsibility in the field of education. It is not permissible for these donations to be binding on the donor in terms of the amount and time of donation. Highlights : This research examines the connection between voluntary donations (infaq) and prohibited fees in education financing under Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 44 of 2012.
