Abstract

Critical thinking skills must be owned by someone to respond and solve problems in life, preliminary study results show the critical thinking skills of students have not developed or are still low in junior high school N 12 Yogyakarta. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of group guidance services to improve students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is experimental research with true experimental design research methods with post-test control group design pre-test models. The results of the study obtained, from the results of tests that have been done in this study are known that t-hitung results amounted to 5.78 and t-tabel amounted to 2,048. This shows that t-hitung (5.78) t-tabel (2,048), so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Based on this, it can be concluded that, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which reads effective group guidance services to improve critical thinking skills of class VIII junior high school N 12 Yogyakarta" received the truth with a significant level of 5%. Thus, demonstrating that group guidance services are effective for improving interpersonal communication.

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic has had many impacts on various sectors of human life. The education sector is also feeling the effects of the pandemic that hit almost all parts of the world. Learning that initially takes place in the classroom turns into online learning. This article was written using a literature study approach. The data obtained comes from similar articles from various sources in national journals. The use of discovery learning models in online learning can be done in many ways. For example: the teacher gives a picture of the problem to the student to be examined comprehensively. After students can find and think deeply about the material with the attachment of discovery learning. Of course, the material conveyed through the picture must be creative in order to match the character of students' curiosity. In addition, the delivery of material can be delivered by utilizing the LMS (Learning Management System) platform, such as: edmodo, schoology, google classroom and so on. This learning design aims to make students have an attitude of resilience to the covid 19 pandemic that is sweeping around the world today.

Abstract

The condition of school from home provides a challenge for Guidance and Counseling teachers. Students begin to feel bored to talk to in monotonous, rigid conditions. Guidance and counseling innovation is intended as the ability to apply creative solutions to various problems and opportunities to improve the performance of GC services, so the purpose of this research is to find out the development of GC teacher services ( counseling guidance) in the Merdeka Learning era during the covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative research type. The data analysis used in ringing this article is library research. The results of the research on the development of GC teacher services are the use of online media such as zoom, gmeet, gform, hatsapp, google classroom, peer counselors, development of GC teacher abilities, development oftutorials self-healing and development of gadget constraints and student quotas

Abstract

This study aims to develop animation media in improving student learning outcomes in learning the characteristics and competencies of Elementary School Children Materials for Elementary School Children's Needs (KENALADA) for Guidance and Counseling Study Program students, FKIP UNTAN Pontianak. Animation media is one example of the use of technology in supporting the learning process. This media can increase the enthusiasm and attention of students to learn, especially during the pandemic when all learning is required online. This study uses the Research and Development (RD) method using five stages, namely the ADDIE Model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The form of experiment in this research is posttest only design. This study used the entire population as a sample, namely the Guidance and Counseling Study Program class A as the experimental class and the Guidance and Counseling Study Program in class B as the control class. The experimental class in its learning uses animation media and the control class in its learning does not use animation media. The test results in the experimental class showed a higher score than the class that did not use animation media, so that animated video media was effective in learning.

Abstract

This study investigated the role of counselling services for peace and unity awareness among youths in Minna metropolis of Niger State. Descriptive survey research was employed to collect information from the sample and conclude base on the targeted population. The population was all youth in Minna metropolis, four wards were randomly selected at twenty youths per ward, eighty youths were used for the sample. The instrument used were the tagged Questionnaire for counselling services for peace and unity awareness among youth (QCSPUAY). It was meant to measure causes of crisis, disunity, place of youth on peace and unity in our communities and the role of counsellors in creating awareness among youth in Minna metropolis. A finding of the study showed that there is severe disunity amongst the youth and that youth play a great role in influencing peace and unity in their various communities. Hence, for the sake of peace and unity, there is an urgent need for counselling services in all forms of education to expose youth to see tremendous advantages of peace and unity. Therefore, the study recommended that youth of different tribes, religions, political affiliations and social-economic status should always pursue peace and unity wherever they found themselves. Also, the services of counsellors should focus on creating awareness that will assist in influencing youth towards embracing peace and unity.
