Abstract

Indonesia is a country of diverse ethnicities, races, cultures and religions. Diversity often triggers conflicts, one of which is religion. The number of religious conflicts shows the discrepancy between the teachings of love and the facts that exist. Inter-religious conflicts require the realisation of the Precepts of Indonesian Unity with the foundation of love. The realisation of the precepts of Indonesian Unity is related to the precepts. It is a concrete manifestation of the teachings of love that religions teach so that conflict can be prevented and not repeated. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method, and the approach used is a literature study describing the teachings of love and the precepts of Indonesian Unity. The purpose of this research is so that conflicts in the name of religion that are very detrimental to the Unity of Indonesia can be resolved and can be a preventive measure before the conflict occurs. The findings in the research are that the realisation of the precepts of Indonesian Unity is related to the precepts and is a concrete manifestation of the teachings of love that religions teach so that conflict can be prevented and not repeated. The Indonesian people can realise the spirit and values of Unity and integrity of the founders of this nation.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the relationship between workers and employers is regulated in a legal regulation that aims to balance interests and justice. However, many disputes between workers and employers are caused by unequal interests and injustice. A more appropriate relationship is needed to ensure fairness and, at the same time, be able to encourage workers and employers to give their best in their relationships. This paper seeks to provide an alternative relationship between workers and employers to ensure justice and provide the best for workers and employers who depart from the spirit of serving and are centred on Christ. This paper is qualitative research that offers a model of servant relations obtained through the excavation of Colossians 3: 22 – 4:1 with the exegesis method. This paper concludes that the servant relationship between workers and employers centred on Christ, with the motive of serving each other based on the values given by Colossians 3: 22 – 4: 1. This awareness will undoubtedly encourage workers and employers to give their best.

Abstract

After two years of a pandemic where worship activities could not be carried out and were limited, the government began to relax the rules for worship, and churches resumed their activities and held face-to-face worship. Even though some congregations are starting to come to worship face-to-face enthusiastically, others are still choosing to worship online. During the hybrid worship period, where online services are still held simultaneously as face-to-face services, the church seeks various ways to invite the entire congregation back to attend services. Based on direct observations and interviews with pastors and congregations that have attended, various factors have been found that can be a driving force for congregations longing to attend face-to-face activities; the church also uses various creative ways to provoke the desire of congregations that are not present to be able to feel and remember the enjoyment worship directly. Efforts to attract the congregation to return to attendance, thanks to the role of the pastor's attention to the congregation and various supporting factors, have resulted in the return of almost the entire congregation for face-to-face worship.

Abstract

This article will discuss shamanic practices still preserved today by people in Indonesia. In general, this paper will examine the variety of definitions that existed long before the practice of shamanism. Specifically, it will discuss the sources of knowledge, their functions and uses in shamanic practice. It will then show the critical theological attitude that is a significant part of today's Christians by using some of the narratives in Acts 8, 13, and 19. The characters in the narrative of Acts 8, 13, and 19 will be dissected using Andy Reimer's theory of the perspective embodied in the definition of magic. This paper uses qualitative research methods from books, scientific journal articles, and internet articles to obtain helpful knowledge. This method gives birth to several main points: 1) God has absolute power, while man is only a finite being; 2) The powers of darkness cannot compete with God's miracles; 3) God's consecration and protection are bestowed upon man through the celebration of the Lord's Supper as a form of miracles that can be used for all time; 4) Holy Communion is a healing process that man can use to ward off magical powers.

Abstract

The church is a visible fellowship of people from different cultures and plural societies in the name of Jesus. This is what is called the real church. Believing in the church means believing in the Lord Jesus' promise that when two or three people gather in His name, that is where He will be in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). Believing in the church is believing that the church is a "sign" and "foretaste" of the fellowship between humans and God from His kingdom to come. This view of the church implies that the church has the characteristics of the presence of Jesus and the destiny of eschatology, as waiting for the kingdom to come, the church remains part of this world. It is marked by sin, unbelief, and division. For a structured approach, the author will use qualitative research to describe the situation and phenomenon of today's church pluralism which implies hidden problems and tensions between denominations within diversity. I will also use descriptive, correlational, and exploratory methods. This article closes with a church that must unite and understand that the church cannot alone but compromise in mission based on God's promises.

Abstract

The term Tongues originates from the event of Pentecost. Even though there are differences in the context and concept of Tongues in Acts 2:1-13 and 1 Corinthians 12-14, it cannot be denied that both of them were events of the power of the Holy Spirit, which, in terminology, according to Luke and Paul used the word Tongues. The problem of speaking in tongues today often refers to 1 Corinthians 12-14, where this phenomenon is seen as something abnormal. This study aimed to measure the suitability between the understanding of Tongues and the implementation of Tongues. This is a descriptive qualitative research and text analysis with an exegesis approach. The research subjects in this study were 6 (six) Postgraduate students from Bethel Indonesia Theological College, where data collection was carried out using primary data by conducting in-depth interviews. At the same time, data analysis consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Through research that has been done, it was found that the meaning of Tongues is a gift from God to carry out duties and functions for the body of Christ, the implementation of Tongues in worship is still carried out but is not an obligation, and Tongues is still relevant and valuable in congregational life.

Abstract

The main problems of writing this article are, first, the emergence of dogmas in the local church that contradict or deviate from the Bible; secondly, dogmatic teaching in local churches is not a fundamental emphasis because it is considered difficult and impractical, unpleasant to discuss, and ministers in local churches do not understand and study dogmatics. The author wants to explain the application of dogmatics in the local church to strengthen the congregation's faith so that the congregation is not led astray by other dogmas or that the congregation's faith can be strengthened because of a perspective following the Bible. The research method used is qualitative research. So, it can be concluded that there needs to be dogmatics so that the local church is not influenced by dogmas that do not follow the Bible. This dogma is helpful for the firmness of the congregation's faith in the local church so that the congregation's faith becomes more substantial and can become a witness.

Abstract

Koinonia is one of the vocations of the church. As a good fellowship of believers, each individual in the congregation should be seen as a holistic human with four main aspects: physical, mental, social, and spiritual. This research examines mental health issues, specifically the Quarter Life Crisis experienced by the young adult congregation of GKI Bromo. By conducting field research using community-based action research (CBAR), the method found that the young adults of GKI Bromo were struggling with mental health issues in the context of building the congregation. It was necessary to design a fellowship involving the human mental aspect. The fellowship needs to concern and accommodate young adults to share their real experiences and give them space to do individual reflection. The follow-up action needed to be based on the findings of this research is that GKI Bromo needs to create a forum that facilitates contextualized peer support groups of young adults.

Abstract

Spiritual leaders play a very important role in the development and growth of the church. They are not only responsible for leading and teaching the congregation, but must also be concerned for the spiritual and emotional well-being of its members. Being competent is not an easy job. A spiritual leader in the context of the New Testament can be seen from the lives of Jesus' disciples. They were also competent pastors who had the leadership skills and qualities required of the day. They lead the congregation and guide according to the purpose that God calls leaders in every context.
