Abstract

Information security plays a significant role in information society. Cryptography is a key proof of concept to increasing the security of information assets and has been deployed in various algorithms. Among cryptography algorithms is Extended Tiny Encryption Algorithm. This study aims to describe a recent Android Apps to realize XTEA Cryptography in mobile form. In addition, a thorough example is presented to enable readers gain understanding on how it works within our Android Apps.

Abstract

A good Super Resolution (SR) algorithm is one of the key successes to filter frequency that creates noise to a picture. Previous research that has published was concluded the Camera SR is the best algorithm to filter this frequency based on their Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE) results. However, the current approach to achieving high resolution have not yielded enough signal to filter unwanted pixel. Hence, there is a need to find a better approach to those leads to higher resolution through lower noise reduction. To fulfill this need, this thesis proposed to utilize two proven SR algorithms; Gaussian Denoising and Kernel Blurring. This thesis will not only be obtaining these two existing algorithms in a stand-alone form but hence the combination of them (two combinations) will also be obtained as the new possible algorithms that can be utilized to filter frequency that create noise to a picture. To reach the research objective, the method that will be used is by training a total of four algorithms one by one to a public data set that contains 200 pictures and gets the PSNR and MSE results of each algorithm. Comprehensive experimental results show that all those four SR algorithms outperform previous SR algorithms in commonly used data set with variously higher PSNR by 21% and lower MSE by 5%.

Abstract

In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, whether ready or not, education policy makers in Indonesia have established a policy of online learning from home. Some schools use a special Learning Management System (LMS) application, while others simply use existing common communication applications, including WhatsApp Messenger. This study aims to measure its usability in its use as an online learning medium. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The data were obtained from an online survey of students and teachers who were determined by convenience sampling technique. Measurements were carried out with ISO for HCI and Usability 2001. The results showed that the Usability of WhatsApp was rated in the sufficient category, close to the good category.

Abstract

Multimedia services are one of the internet needs with high data traffic network count since 2019. Two of the multimedia services, Web Real-Time Communications (WebRTC) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), have been widely used in applications for conducting video conferencing. The main objective of this research is to analyze network performance by an application with a client-server for audio and video communications developed with WebRTC and SIP protocols. The SIP system uses the FreePBX server, and the softphone application uses Bria. Whereas WebRTC uses JavaScript with servers on Ubuntu using Node.js. The analysis application uses a star topology and runs on a local network using Wi-Fi. After testing, the results show that the throughput, jitter, and packet loss of WebRTC are better than SIP. This result is caused by several factors including the type of codec, the type of platform, and the way of signaling and routing of each protocol.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the motives and patterns of using youtube among Communication science students. This research was conducted using quantitative methods. Data was collected online using a questionnaire created on Google Form. The questionnaire link was distributed using the crowdsourcing method using Whatsapp. The population of this study were students majoring in Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Makassar Islamic University. We have described both the cognitive motive and the affective motive. Second, we have calculated the value of the motive for both and found that the value of cognitive motive is slightly higher than the value of affective motive. This means that the cognitive motives and affective motives of students in using Youtube are quite balanced.

Abstract

So far, the spread of the corona virus disease is very difficult to prevent and reduce because transmission can occur through non-physical contact which can be easily done without being noticed by people when touching common items or objects that are often used, one of which is doorknobs. The design of the automatic door system on the sliding door was made based on body temperature. The purpose of this study is to reduce the occurrence of corona virus transmission through non-physical contact with objects that are often used in this case doorknobs. The infrared temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature when the user wants to enter the room. If the results of the body temperature measurement are normal (below 38ºC), the door will open and then close automatically.

Abstract

One of the activities in the TIU (Technical Implementing Unit) of Office of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health is to carry out the examination of pet health, record and issue an Animal Health Certificate (AHC). The object in this research was cat, where the examination was still performed by laboratory test, using paper as a form of diagnosis carried out by a vet and not using the technology. Therefore, an application to provide decision in determining healthy cat that also implements the algorithm C4.5 based on android system was designed. This system was able to perform diagnosis of cat diseases quickly based on previous medical record, with a training history (training data) as many as 44 cases. Then the classification process would strengthen the results of cat disease diagnosis such as how to deal with disease that had similar symptoms so as to facilitate the Office of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health, as a comparison to issue an Animal Health Certificate. Based on the Black Box testing, the functionality of the module was in accordance with the needs of the system, while the accuracy testing generated the percentage value of 93.18%. This shows that the algorithm C4.5 has a good accuracy to determine healthy cat.

Abstract

Education to read and write the Qur'an is the most important thing in Muslim life. The problem that arises is the difficulty of getting a schedule fit between prospective Koran teachers and students, besides the lack of places to study the Koran for adults is also a problem that should be a concern for the sake of the ongoing process of learning the Qur'an.The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with an experimental approach for programming methods using the Haversine Formula method. The results of this research are in the form of the development of Private Recitation Service and Report Applications Using the Android-Based Haversine Formula Method which can be used to facilitate the community in the process of searching for private Using the Haversine Formula Method Based on Android with distance calculation accuracy rate is 98.92%

Abstract

The 3in1 training for electronics operators aims to deliver competent participants. Therefore, it is necessary to improves the learning curriculum and materials. However, the organizer and teaching staff lack information about the factors that determined the success rate of participant's competence tests. Therefore, this paper aims to build a model for predicting participant competence test result. The data of participant's assessment scores were first collected and prepared as the dataset. The prediction model builds by applying a machine learning approach. These cover the use of ANOVA to ranked the course subjects towards the competency test results (C and NC) and build the prediction model using the Random Forest algorithm. From the results, we found that the competency test results are more affected by the practical subjects rather than theory subjects. From the ANOVA results, the most significant practical subject is the screwing lesson, while for theory subject is 5S-Kaizen. The prediction model obtains an accuracy of 94,6% for 5-subjects and 91,9% for 8-subjects from the original dataset. However, from the precision rate, it was found that the oversampling and hybrid sampling dataset shown better results. This confirms that the resampling technique is working to solve the imbalanced dataset problem.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, flexible working arrangements (FWA) in Indonesia become necessary. In the Indonesian government, the opportunities and technical concepts of FWA are still being formulated. The survey answered by 745 respondents or 18.6% of the total employees in the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (MCI) indicates employees' perception from various groups of ages, fields of work, and occupations. The results show that more than 80% thought FWA had positive impacts on individual performance and at the same time maintained organizational performance. Some remained challenges are related to the availability of internet access, household affairs, and coordination difficulties.
