Abstract

In Bengkulu Province in 2017, the absolute number of maternal deaths was 28, consisting of 6 maternal deaths, 10 maternal deaths, 12 postpartum maternal deaths. This research aimed to study the association between mother’s knowledge and personal hygiene  with duration of perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers in the Basuki Rahmad Community Health Center in Bengkulu City. The type of this research was Analytical Survey with cross sectional design. The population in this study were all post partum mothers who gave birth as many as 32 mothers.  The sampling technique used was Total Sampling. The data collection in this study used primary data through questionnaires. Data analysis of this research uses univariate and bibvariat analysis with Chi-Square test (χ2) and Contingency Coefficient test (C). The results found : of the 32 mothers, there were 21 mothers who had long duration of wound healing, 17 mothers had insufficient knowledge, 20 mothers had  poor personal hygiene. There was a relationship between mother’s knowledge with the duration of perineal wound healing in puerperal mothers, with the category of close relationship, and there was a relationship of personal hygiene with the duration of perineal wound healing in puerperal mothers, with a close relationship category. It is expected that the community health center can increase mother’s knowledge about recovery of perineal wounds and personal hygiene by giving counseling to pregnant women  during Antenatal Care and Pregnant Mothers Class visit. Keywords: knowledge, personal hygiene, wound healing

Abstract

Stress in the elderly can cause health problems, the higher the stress level of the elderly, the more often they experience recurrence of the disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the Relationship of Coping Mechanism with Incidence of Stress on Elderly in BPPLU Pagar Dewa Bengkulu City. This study used cross sectional design. Population in this study were all elderly who lived in BPPLU Pagar Dewa Bengkulu City who fulfilled characteristic who were obtained with the amount of 42 people. Sampling technique in this study used total sampling were 42 people. Collecting data in this study used primary data with observation technique and interview. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate. Statistic test used was Chi-Square. The result of this study showed: (1) from 42 elderly in BPPLU Pagar Dewa Bengkulu City 1 (2,4%) elderly experienced severe stress; there were 18 (42,9%) elderly experienced medium stress, and there were 23 or (54,8%) elderly experienced mild stress (2) there were 16 (38,1%) elderly with maladaptive Coping Mechanism and 26 (61,9%) elderly with adaptive Coping Mechanism; (3) from 16 elderly with maladaptive Coping Mechanism there were 1 (6,2%) elderly experienced severe stress, there were 10 (62,5%) elderly experienced medium stress and there were 5 (31,2%) elderly experienced mild stress, while from 26 elderly with adaptive Coping Mechanism there were and 0 (0,0%) elderly experienced severe stress, there were 8 (30,8%) elderly experienced medium stress and 18 (69,2%) elderly experienced mild stress; (4) there is significant relationship between Coping Mechanism with Incidence of Stress on Elderly in BPPLU Pagar Dewa Bengkulu City with moderate category relationship.It is expected that health workers can provide care that suits the needs of the elderly, as well as provide psychological motivation to the elderly Keywords: coping mechanism, incidence of stress, elderly

Abstract

Restaurant is a commercial venue where the scope of its activities provide food and beverages to the public in the place of business. This restaurant arises and develops in line with the development of society in serving the needs of consumers. This if not supported by hygiene food processing and good sanitation conditions it will cause food poisoning or diseases such as diarrhea. The purpose of this research is to analysis of  sanitation and hygiene application of food management place in restaurant Bengkulu City. Type of research used is descriptive with qualitative method, Informant in this research amounted to 4 person that is, owner of restaurant A, owner of restaurant B, restaurant owner C, Head of Environmental Health Counseling Dinkes Kota Bengkulu. The instruments used are observation sheets and interview guides. Data analysis was done by collecting interview result data then described to describe applying sanitation hygiene in restaurant with Triangulation technique. The result of this research is the application of sanitation hygiene at restaurant A (776), B (721) and C (720) have fulfilled the health requirement which refers to Permenkes Number: 1098 / Menkes / SK / VII / 2003 so that the restaurant is sanitary hygiene and safe for public consumption, between input and process restaurants A, B, and C input it has been referring to the foundation and the existing regulations as well as the supervision of sanitarian power has been executed so that at the stage of the process have a good effect on the restaurant supported by the assessment of sanitarian power. It is expected that local health agencies to more often hold activities that are promotive and preventive about the importance of the application of hygiene sanitation food processing in restaurants. Keywords : hygiene, restaurant, sanitation

Abstract

The impact of preeclampsia is low birth weight (LBW) and death in mothers. This study aims to study the relationship between distance of pregnancy and parity with the incidence of preeclampsia in RSUD dr. M. Yunus Bengkulu in 2018. This study uses an Analytical Survey approach with a case control design. The population is all non-primiparous maternity mothers in RSUD Dr. M Yunus Bengkulu In 2018 as many as 342 people consisted of 51 case variables of mothers who had preeclampsia taken in total sampling and 51 control variables of non preeclampsia mothers taken by systematic random sampling with multiples of 6. Data collection is using secondary data by looking at documentation data using cheklis. Data analysis was performed with the Chi-Square (χ2) test, Contingency Coefficient (C) Test and Odd Ratio (OR). The results obtained:  Of the 102 ibu, there were 51 mothers preeclampsia and 51 mothers not preeclampsia, 36 pregnancy distances 2 years, 66 people pregnancy distances ≥ 2 years, 63 people (38.9%) primiparous or grandemultiparous parity, 99 people (61.1%) multiparous parity, there is a significant relationship between the distance of pregnancy with the incidence of preeclampsia in RSUD dr. M. Yunus Bengkulu, with a moderate relationship category, and there is a significant relationship between parity and the incidence of preeclampsia in RSUD dr. M. Yunus Bengkulu, with medium relationship category. It is hoped that health workers will further enhance health promotion about the effects of pregnancy spacing and parity on preeclampsia. Keywords: pregnancy distance, parity, preeclampsia

Abstract

Depression in the elderly if not immediately dealt with quickly can cause brain shrinkage, so that the elderly will experience a decrease in quality of life, decreased social and physical function, disability, suicide risk and increased mortality in the elderly. This study aimed to determine the effect of reminscene group therapy on depression in the elderly at BPPLU Kota Bengkulu. This study used a pre-experimental one group pre test and post test design. The population in this study were 60 elderly at the BPPLU in Bengkulu City. The sampling technique used Purposive Sampling techniques as many as 14 elderly. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with Shapiro Wilk data normality test and Paired T test. The results showed that the average depression before reminiscene therapy was 8.21 with a standard deviation of 1.626, the average value of depression after reminiscene therapy was 6.71 with a standard deviation of 2.234, there was an effect of reminiscene group therapy on depression in the BPPLU city Bengkulu. It is expected that health workers can routinely carry out group therapy in treating depression in the elderly. Keywords: depression, elderly, reminiscene group therapy

Abstract

Healthy heart exercises can be used as non-pharmacological therapy in the treatment of hypertension. The aims of this study to determine Effect of Heart Exercise to Blood Pressure on Elderly with Hypertension at PSTW Pagar Dewa Bengkulu City. Design of this study was Pre-Experimental Design with Pre-Test and Post-Test Group Design, observation design which was conducted twice, that were before and after the experiment. Aneroid sphgmomanometer measuring devices, stethoscopes and digital tension and measuring methods by measuring blood pressure elderly. Population in this study were all the elderly who had hypertension were in PSTW Pagar Dewa Bengkulu City, with the amounted of 44 people and the sample used according to criteria was 26 people. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results of this study have an influence, obtained Systolic Blood Pressure values in the Elderly before and after Healthy Heart exercised Z = -4,282 with p = value = 0,000 0.05 means significant diastolic Blood Pressure in the Elderly before and after Healthy Heart exercised  Z = - 4,314 with p = value = 0,000 0.05 means significant. Suggestions elderly who suffer from hypertension can used healthy heart exercises as non-pharmacological therapy. Keywords: elderly, heart exercises, hypertension

Abstract

Diarrhea disease in Indonesia is still one of the endemic diseases and still often causes extraordinary events (outbreaks) in the community. This study aimed to study the relationship between the application of Germas (Community Movement) hands washing with running water and soap simultaneously with the occurrence of diarrhea in SDN 108 students in Seluma Regency. The type of research used was Analytical Survey using Cross Sectional design.. Samples  of  this study were 167 students in grades 4, 5, and 6 of  SDN 108 Seluma Regency. Sampling in this study used a Total Sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this study using primary data by interview using a questionnaire. The statistical test used is Chi-Square. The results showed that of 167 students, there were 113 students (67.7%) who did not experience diarrhea, 123 students (73.7%) had poor hands washing with and running water and soap, and there was a relationship between hands washing use soap and running water and soap with diarrhea. Keywords: diarrhea, germas,hands washing, soap
