Abstract

Background: Students experience learning barriers during online learning methods. Online learning can also reduce children's learning motivation at school during the COVID-19 Pandemic Disaster. Cognitive impairment due to distance education can affect memory conditions and will also affect their future. The thinking process in elementary school students is very important in thinking, developing creativity in being creative. The aim in this activity of community service is to provide health education about brain gym to students. Methods: The devotee gave a brain gym video to the respondents and after one month an evaluation of learning motivation was carried out. Brain gym videos contain interactive brain gym procedures with short and clear explanations. Results: The results of community service were found that male service participants were 63.5%, while there were 36.5% female. The most participants were 11 years old by 23.1%. After being given a brain gym educational video, the most students had a fairly good cognitive learning as much as 51%, and those who had a good cognitive learning were 39,4%. The most participants were 11 years old by 23.1%. After being given a brain gym educational video, the most students had a fairly good learning motivation as much as 44.2%, and those who had a good learning motivation were 37.5%. Conclusion: Brain gym procedures can increase cognitive learning motivation and also improve students' cognitive abilities.

Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic is currently influencing many aspects of life. The pressure is experienced by all societies impacted by the pandemic, causing physiological and psychological reactions. Stress is produced by emotional problems induced by excessive pressure. If stress is experienced on a regular basis, it can lead to painful emotional conditions such as depression and anxiety. Raising awareness of the stressful behavior is one of the preventive interventions needed to cope with stress. It is expected that people aged 18-22 years will be able to manage with their own pressure after obtaining stress education and health promotion. Methods: The target needed is to educate people aged 18-22 years by distributing leaflets online through social media on June 9, 2021. After distributing the leaflets, it is hoped that the respondents will provide feedback by filling out the questionnaires that we distribute. Results: The online awareness campaign has been a success. 53 respondents aged 18-22 replied to the questionnaire after obtaining information through leaflets. As a result, most people react to the present pandemic is increasing stress levels. Conclusion: Stress concerns can be prevented with education that raises awareness of stress behavior.

Abstract

Background: A febrile seizure have negative impacts for children and parents if mismanagement. A febrile seizure in children of disorder causing fear of cognitive development and achievement in their school as increase the risk of attention deficit hyperactifity disorder (ADHD). The purpose of this community service activity is to improve knowledge and skills on the emergency management of fever-convulsed children at home with the Health Belief Model approach. Methods: Community service activities are conducted through education and small group discussions are created by facilitators. Results: The result of this community service activities showed the increased the value of test weighted pre (65) and post (80). Increased knowledge parents as first responder in children with febrile seizure are needed to increade the ability home emergency first aid for children having a febrile seizure. Conclusion: Community service activities was applied the evidence based practice of health belief model in home emergency first aid for children having a febrile seizure.

Abstract

Background: The pandemic of COVID 19 has impact on many field include mental health. People experience fear, anxiety, and even panic attacks. Anxiety will cause many negative effects. Handling anxiety quickly can be done by providing Anxiety First Aid . The purpose of the research is to increase the citizen level of knowledge and skill about Anxiety First Aid and adaptive coping in COVID 19 pandemic. Methods: Activities carried out by three main activities such as screening of panic incident, providing Anxiety First Aid (AFA) training, and education about adaptive coping. Respondents involved were 21 residents of Bonoroto Plesungan Karanganyar Central Java. Results: There is a resident who has panic incident history. The knowledge and skill of residents increase after giving training and education. The pre-test showed that the majority of the respondents had bad knowledge (90,47% or 19 respondents) and bad skill (100% or 21 respondents). The post-test showed that the majority of the respondents had good knowledge (86% or 18 respondents) and good skill (86% or 18 respondents). Conclusion: Adaptive coping and Anxiety First Aid are highly recommended to prevent panic attacks during COVID 19 pandemic.

Abstract

Background: Uric acid is a disease that arises from excessive blood uric acid levels, which causes excessive blood uric acid levels, which is the production of more uric acid in the body from its disposal. There are several causes of gout, including changes in diet, consumption of drugs, and alcohol consumption. The purpose of implementing this community service activity is to provide education to the community in Bercak Village and to check uric acid levels. Methods: Based on the team's observations on several residents in Bercak Village, it was found that most residents did not have sufficient knowledge about gout and did not carry out routine health checks. In order to increase awareness and understanding of residents about health care efforts, especially preventing gout, the team coordinated with the urban village to carry out community service activities in Bercak Village, Wonosamudro, Boyolali. Results: The target in implementing this program is all residents in the Bercak Village, Wonosamudro, Boyolali. Community service activities were carried out on March 13, 2021, attended by the village head and also village officials and babinsa. Conclusion: After carrying out the activity, it is hoped that the community can follow up on the results of the examination and improve the behavior of efforts to prevent gout.

Abstract

Background: The Covid-19 pandemic has triggered public awareness to stay at home, so that community gathering activities are canceled, including routine community gymnastics activities. The aim of its community service activity is to increase public awareness of the Salakan hamlet regarding health protocols by increasing the family's immune system and physical activity during the Covid-19 pandemic for women in the Salakan, Trihanggo, Gamping, Sleman. Methods: this community services activity used lectures on improving the family's immune system and appropriate physical activity in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. The lectures and discussions both offline and online course. It is done offline at the residents' meeting building on March 1, 2021 with 20 Health Cadres whose members are the same as the Salakan women's gymnastics board. MS Teams meeting online on Sunday, February 7, 2021. Evaluation is done by measuring the level of knowledge of participants about the immune system and the level of knowledge about physical activity is done through posttest with google form. Results: this community service activity showed that the participants were very enthusiastic and there was a warm discussion about the topic given. Post-test results showed that the level of knowledge of participants about the immune system was 80.00 ± 10.34 (very good) and the level of knowledge about physical activity was 76.25 ± 15.00 (good). Conclusion: the women of the Gymnastics group after being given socialization about the immune system and physical activity experienced an increase in knowledge about how to improve the immune system and what physical activities were good to do during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Background: Measuring blood pressure is one way of early detection of the risk of hypertension, stroke and heart disease. Generally, in rural areas have lower access to health information and education than those in urban areas. Promotive and preventive efforts needed to increase public awareness to carry out early detection through measuring blood pressure regularly and adherence to taking medication regularly. This step is believed to be a form of controlling hypertension in the form of reducing the number of cases, complications, and deaths from hypertension. Methods: The method of activity to be carried out is a health check by measuring blood pressure and providing counseling which is carried out through lectures and discussions with the community about the signs and symptoms of hypertension, prevention of hypertension, and complications of hypertension. The activity was carried out on April 10, 2021 with the target of all members of the community in Wonosuko, Magelang, Central Java. Results: This activity was attended by a community of about 40 people. The implementation of this service went smoothly and the community was enthusiastic in examination and counseling activities. Most of the community felt the benefits of holding this activity because according to them, apart from getting knowledge about hypertension, the community also felt the benefits of checking blood pressure, and consulting various diseases related to complications due to hypertension. Conclusion: This community service activity has added insight and knowledge of communities about hypertension, especially about clinical symptoms, complications and also efforts to prevent hypertension. In addition, the public has also become more aware of the need to have their blood pressure checked at local health care facilities. In addition, communities' knowledge has also increased about several complications of hypertension which have been explained through consultation with the team of this activity.

Abstract

Background: Increased life expectancy will be followed by increasing problems if health care is not carried out properly. Problems will arise, one of which is endocrine system disorders such as diabetes mellitus which has complications. One of the complications of diabetes mellitus is diabetic ulcers on the feet by 7.5% of patients who experience impaired sensation which ultimately have to undergo amputation. This condition can be prevented early, such as by checking the sensation of the feet. This activity aims to increase the role of health cadres in detecting the incidence of neuropathy. Methods: In order to provide knowledge and skills of the toe touch test to 30 health cadres, the method chosen was training supported by guidebooks, videos and demonstrations. Results: There was an increase in the knowledge of cadres in good categories from 13% to 89% between before and after training. Meanwhile, the skills of the cadres showed that all of the training participants were skilled in doing the toe touch test. Conclusion: Improving the knowledge and skills of cadres can be pursued through training by combining the use of manuals, videos and demonstrations.

Abstract

Background: labor pain is a real problem for maternity mothers, as many as 90% of women experience pain during childbirth. Mothers who are about to give birth expect to be able to give birth with a sense of comfort, but in reality many health workers, especially midwives, do not understand how to accompany mothers in labor and teach the correct relaxation techniques to reduce labor pain. The hypnobirthing relaxation technique is a natural pain reduction program by utilizing the subconscious mind to believe that childbirth is a natural, comfortable, and normal process that pregnant women can learn during their pregnancy. Methods: Method this study is used relaxation hypnobirthing intervention. The sample of this study were all midwives in the South Klaten Public Health Center area. The researcher demonstrated hypnobirthing relaxation and then the respondents practiced it in pairs. Results: the average value of the knowledge of the midwives before the training on hypnobirthing relaxation was only 50, after the training the knowledge increased by 90. Hypnobirthing relaxation training can increase knowledge and skills of midwives to in assisting pregnant women during their pregnancy and lead pregnant women to a comfortable, smooth, natural, and normal labor. Conclusion: Hypnobirthing relaxation training for midwives can increase their knowledge in assisting mothers in childbirth so that they can relax in the face of childbirth.

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of fever at the age of 0-4 years was 33.4%, cough was 28.7% and diarrhea was 11.4%. Central Agency Statistics in Indonesia (2012), children with fever as many as 90,245 children, in 2013 as many as 112,511 children. From field observations and interviews with some communities, the main problem was that the community had not been able to calculate drug doses for children under five and did not understand how to handle fever in children under five. The purpose is increase the level of knowledge and skill about fever handling of parents who have children under five in Manarap Village. Methods: Pre-test and Post-test, Educational counseling, training to measure temperature with a thermometer, training to calculate the dose of fever medicine for children under five, training in handling fever in children under five. The number of respondents are 14 people, total implementation of activities is 1 month, but educational activities and interviews are carried out for 1 day but at different times, then a follow-up plan is made after the activity. Results: Increased knowledge can be seen from the post-test value which is higher than the pre-test value, participants can measure body temperature with a thermometer correctly, participants can calculate the dose of paracetamol fever medicine for children under five, participants understand the handling of fever in children under five. Conclusion: Community service activities to treat fever in children under five through education have increased the knowledge and understanding of participants from the results of the pretest and post-test with a significant increase in scores. The hands-on practice of using a thermometer, compressing and calculating the right dose helped participants understand.
