Abstract

Abstract Background: Borax and Formalin are often misused by naughty producers as additional preservatives in children's snacks such as cilok, meatballs, noodles and other foods. BPOM data shows that throughout 2012, the incidence of poisoning due to consuming food occupied the highest position, namely 66.7%, one of the causes of food poisoning was the presence of chemical contamination in children's snack foods, such as borax and formalin. The accumulation of these substances in the body can have a negative impact on health. Purple trumpet flower is a simple detection material to find out the presence of borax and formalin in food. The aim of community service is to increase knowledge in mothers of school-age children, how to detect simple borax and formalin in children's snacks with purple trumpet flowers. Methods: The method by means of detection training is how to detect simple borax and formalin in children's snacks with purple trumpet flowers. Results: From the results of community service, that mothers with 90% of school-age children can do a simple way of detecting borax and formalin in children's snacks with purple trumpet flowers. Conclutions: that mothers of school-age children can do a simple way of detecting borax and formalin in children's snacks with purple trumpet flowers.

Abstract

Background: The Indonesian government has targeted exclusive breastfeeding 80%, but exclusive breastfeeding is not widely done, although the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding are very many, especially for babies and mothers, but in fact many mothers do not give exclusive breastfeeding to their babies, and in the field many mothers stop giving Breast milk in her baby before the age of 2 years. The process of early breastfeeding does not always run smoothly, sometimes mothers and babies experience various obstacles that hinder or complicate the process of breastfeeding, especially if this is the first experience for primigravida mothers who are still young and have a low level of knowledge about breastfeeding that hinders the practice of breastfeeding, and usually her child is not yet 2 years old ASI has been discontinued (Dewanetal., 2002; Yanikkeremetal., 2009). The purpose of this community service is to educate pregnant and post-partum mothers how to properly care for breast and breastfeeding techniques in an effort to increase exclusive breastfeeding coverage. Methods: This community service method is carried out by means of counseling in delivering material then followed by demonstrations and Q&A sessions. Results: The results of this dedication appear to be still many pregnant women and postpartum mothers who do not know the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, how to care for the breast and how to breastfeed the right baby techniques, after health promotion and demonstration it appears that pregnant women and postpartum mothers are serious in understanding every step demonstrated. . Conclusion: Based on the results of the service, it is hoped that this activity can increase the coverage of breastfeeding mothers so that they can provide exclusive breastfeeding to their babies.

Abstract

Background: The temporary suspension of Posyandu Elderly activities has resulted in a decline in the role and function of health cadres in monitoring the health of the elderly. This is also accompanied by a decrease in the health condition of the elderly because they cannot carry out social leisure activities, which are generally carried out in the Elderly Posyandu activity forum. The purpose of this community service activity is so that cadres can optimize their role and function in monitoring the health of the elderly during a pandemic. The health of the elderly is maintained through the leisure activity program provided. Meanwhile, the elderly who are affected by Covid-19can still be guaranteed their basic needs through the distribution of existing assistance. Methods: For cadres are given counseling and training on the role of health cadres during a pandemic. Elderly people are given leisure activity programs carried out both individually and in small groups, facilitating leisure activities, counseling on preventing the spread of Covid-19, and distributing basic needs assistance for elderly people affected by Covid-19. Results: Kader has demonstrated its performance in monitoring the health of the elderly and helping facilitate elderly leisure activities. Elderly people can do leisure activities during the pandemic so they don't feel lonely anymore, feel happy because they can meet other elderly people of their age, don't feel overly afraid, and can participate in social activities to support the basic needs of elderly people affected by Covid-19. The awareness of the elderly in applying the new health norms has also increased. Conclusion: Of community empowerment with leisure activities during the pandemic can be realized thanks to cross-sectoral cooperation. This activity requires a follow-up in the form of evaluation and monitoring of existing programs.

Abstract

Background: Efforts to help the success of government programs related to exclusive breastfeeding must be done as early as possible from 36 weeks of gestation. Massage done in the area around the spine in pregnant women will help the secretion of the hormones oxytocin and prolactin. The oxytocin released after the massage process will stimulate labor contractions and prepare for the breastfeeding process, so it is hoped that regular stimuli given in the form of oxytocin massage will affect the production of milk produced. So it is important to introduce oxytocin massage from an early age to cadres, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. Through cadres, pregnant and lactating mothers will always be reminded to prepare for milk production from pregnancy. The purpose of this activity are to optimize the production of breastmilk in post partum mothers through mentoring health cadres. Methods: Method this study is used oxytocin massage intervention and health education. Results: Of this activity are health education and oxytocin massage intervention can increase knowledge cadre skills to help post partum mothers succeed in exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion: Oxytocin massage can be an intervention alternative to optimize the production of breastmilk in post partum mothers.

Abstract

Background: WHO China Country Office on December 31, 2019 reported that there had been pneumonia cases in Wuhan City - China, with global death cases in May 2020 reaching 4.23 million with 290 thousand deaths, 14,729 in Indonesia with 1007 deaths. Seeing that the number of exposure to COVID 19 has increased significantly, the Central Government issued a circular to limit and stop activities that touch the crowds, including teaching and learning activities, whether carried out in the classroom or in the field, this rule can affect students who are preparing their final project reports. The purpose of this community service activity is so that students can find out about the provision of maternal services in the era of COVID-19 and can complete their final project reports. Methods: providing health education online through zoom meetings. Results: The results showed a 100% assement student has been informed of maternal care in the era of Covid-19. Conclusion: The court of the participants numbered 21 people have received information in the Age COVID Maternal care - 19 and documentation of midwifery

Abstract

Background: Children are uniquely vulnerable to a variety of emergency situations. These situations are often life-threatening if not treated quickly and effectively. Infants and young children are at higher risk for respiratory emergencies than adolescents or adults. Young children often lack coordination, which makes them prone to choking on food and small objects, which can also lead to cardiac arrest. The aim of this community service is that after receiving health education and demonstrations about the dangers of choking, it hopes that an increase in cadres' knowledge of the dangers of choking at the Posyandu for toddlers, Sadar Ibu I, Dusun Jetak. Methods: Respondents involved were 14 cadres of Posyandu Toddler Sadar Ibu I Dusun Jetak. Activities carried out online. The activity began with a pre-test, then continued with provisions health education using audio-visual video media, and ended with a post-test measurement. Results: The percentage of knowledge of cadres during the pre-test showed that 3 cadres (21%) had good knowledge, and the remaining 11 cadres (79%) had less knowledge. The post-test results showed that 10 cadres (71%) had good knowledge, and the remaining 4 cadres (29%) still had a bad knowledge. Conclusion: Increase Cadre's knowledge of the dangers of choking on babies.

Abstract

Background: Gross motor skills are the ability to move limbs that involve nerves, bones, and muscles, to perform certain activities (balance standing, walking, running, and jumping). To be able to do this, a person needs a normal body structure including the foot. A person will experience obstacles when the foot has a structural abnormality, one of which is the flat foot. Flat foot is a condition where the foot does not have a normal arch / flat foot. One of the treatments performed on flat foot sufferers is by giving foot orthosis in the form of Medial Arch Support. Medial arch support is a tool used to improve stability and improve walking function. Methods: According to a preliminary study conducted at SDN 1 Tohudan there were 47 students from grades 3 to 6 who experienced flat foot. This is known from the results of early detection of flat foot carried out at SDN 1 Tohudan. The approach method to be chosen is (1) Assessment for early detection of flat foot conditions, (2) health promotion by training for students, parents, and teachers to increase knowledge about flat foot problems that have an impact on children's gross motor skills so it needs to be done. intervention with the use of medial arch support, with the aim of improving students' gross motor skills. Results: After community service activities run, the understanding of students, parents, and teachers who are the targets / targets in this activity gets better, they become better at understanding the basics of flat foot, which results in a decrease in gross motor skills and increasingly realizes the importance of handling it by using medial arch support. Conclusions: The implementation of community service activities can increase the knowledge of students, teachers and parents about the effect of using medial arch support on the gross motor skills of students with flat foot.

Abstract

Background: Recent developments both in terms of science, population density, modern lifestyle, increased activity, congestion in terms of transportation and so on have a real impact on life in society. One impact that is not recognized is less concerned about the risks of these developments. Where this makes individuals vulnerable to a disease and other threats. One of them is a heart attack, the number of accidents has increased, so there is a risk of trauma, even resulting in cardiac arrest and stopping breathing. In line with this, first aid in emergency conditions really needs to be known by all people. So we need a guide for the flow of help, which is currently with algoritma basic life support AHA 2017. Community service goals: The community understands the flow or algorithm of first aid for people with cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. Methods: In the implementation using question and answer lecture and demonstration models, with the module learning media. Pre-test and post-test is done by asking questions. Results: There is a difference in the results of the correct answer before and after the socialization of the AHA 2017 basic life support algorithm. The increase is between 3 and 6. Conclusion: After socialization of basic life support algorithm AHA 2017 knowledge increased.

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of Hypertension is increasing and increasingly worrying so that Hypertension is still a global problem. One way to be able to prevent Hypertension by controlling its risky behaviors, including by avoiding smoking, unhealthy diet (lack of consumption of vegetables and fruits as well as consumption of sugar, salt and excess fat), preventing the occurrence of obesity, lack of physical activity, excessive alcohol consumption and stress. One of the top priorities and one of the effective nursing interventions to increase the level of public awareness is the existence of health education programs. After participating in health education activities, it is expected that the public can know and be able to prevent the onset of hypertension. Methods: Health Education is carried out by means of lectures and discussions with the community, using LCD media accompanied by leafleat distribution and held on December 24, 2019 with the target of all citizens in tawangsari village, Mojosongo Village, Jebres District. Results: Implementation of hypertension prevention health education followed by 20 participants. The activity went smoothly, the participants were enthusiastic and able to understand the material delivered where when the presenter evaluated the participants were able to answer well in accordance with the questions asked. Conclusion: hypertension prevention health education activities effectively open insights into the health knowledge of citizens, the creation of public awareness to implement a healthy lifestyle, check blood pressure regularly, and routinely consume hypertensive drugs.

Abstract

Background: PHBS at school age that is not good enough will cause various diseases such as diarrhea, toothache, skin pain and worms. Thus, to reduce the prevalence of these bad impacts, it is important to apply PHBS. Methods: The method used is the lecture method. The team conducted health education related to Clean and Healthy Lifestyle, brushing teeth together, and examining faeces for worms. Results: there were 6 students' worms found, there were 10 students who had not brushed their teeth at night, all students listened well to the material that the team conveyed. Conclusion: Problem solving that can be done is by providing knowledge, understanding through counseling about PHBS.
