Abstract

The Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method is the quantity of inventory for one order with a minimum annual inventory cost. This method has several provisions such as determining the economical amount of raw materials, safety stock, and reorder points. With this method, the company can determine the frequency of spare parts purchases, the number of purchases, the optimal total purchase costs that minimize inventory costs, the number of safety stocks and reorder points. Based on the results of this study the most economical number of purchases for PT SI was 24.66 pcs. Then the optimal purchase frequency is 6 pcs, In addition based on the above calculation, it can be seen that safety stock is 4 pcs. According to the company safety stock method of 6 pcs, when compared with the research results of 4 pcs, it can be said that the savings result is 2 pcs. Then by using this method, the results of the total inventory cost of Rp. 119,560.04 are more efficient at Rp.58,196.96 when compared with the company's calculation of Rp.17,757.00 or can be said to use the EOQ method more efficiently by 32.73 percent.

Abstract

Decrease profits, decreased sales turnover and the customer complaint and the number of brands that compete with each other in the snack food beverage market, encourage PT. X to find out the attributes desired by consumers, PT. X conducted research on the development of snack products using the QFD (Quality Function Deployment) method. The main objective to be achieved in this research is to provide a Product Design proposal, process planning and production planning to improve the competitiveness of PT. X by using the 4-phase Quality Function Deployment (QFD) tool. This study used respondents of 130 distributors who collaborated with PT. X. After the data processing the questionnaire was continued by compiling the four Quality Function Deployment matrices generated from the house of quality matrix namely Main Raw Materials in the form of Corn, direct prizes in the form of cash Rp 8,000 per carton, seasoning composition by 10 persen, moisture content by 3 persen, carton size 42x23x22cm, packaging size 14x10cm, OPP 30 packaging material, orange packaging color, cartoon packaging images, yellow food color, round food dimensions, food age 12 mth, Number of Contents per carton 40 pcs. The critical part that results from the preparation of the design deployment matrix are snack weight. Amount of water content, number of spices, type of base, weight of the base. The selected process stages that are generated from the process planning matrix are Mixing of Raw Materials, Adding Dyes, Making Base, Reducing Moisture Content, Add Seasonings. Production stages that are produced from the production planning matrix are procedures, operator training, Mistake Proofing, Failure Prevention Action Required, Operator Instruction, Work Analysis, Supplier Conference, Supplier Agreement, Maintenance Instruction, Gauge Design, Machine Qualification, Gauge Requirements. To produce quality products and in accordance with customer requirements, PT.X must focus on the requirements resulting from the preparation of the four Quality Function Deployment matrices.

Abstract

Competition in the industry, both services and manufacturing, is not only on the scale of the company or its human resources, but also on the quality of products produced. The company needs to take quality control measures to maintain the quality of their products to comform to the quality standards set by the company, so that their products can be accepted by consumers. PT XYZ Batam is a capacitor manufacturing company. In the production process there are still various and fluctuating defects. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of variation in defects in the production process, identify the level of quality control performance by finding the value of DPMO, and identify the causes of defects. Map p is used to determine the number of defective products, DPMO is used to determine the level of sigma level and fishbone diagrams are used to identify the causes of defects. The results showed that there were data out of control limits on less / low epoxy and epoxy on lead defects while in off center and epoxy on box defects there was no data out of control. This value is still relatively low. Based on the fishbone diagram, it was found that human, machine, method, material and environmental factors were the cause of defects in capacitor production.

Abstract

Abstract — Quality control activities at the company are purpose to ensure the production process that occurs on the company has been guiding limits and finding factors of product damage. Its expected to minimize product damage that could inflict a financial loss on the company. The food and beverage company that is the place where the authors conduct research is a company that produces ice cream. Currently, an obstacle faced by the company is the large number of a product defect that involves weight loss (gr per m2) not to meet the expected specifications. This matter is dominant in sweet corn ice cream products, which causes many products to be held. The filling process has made weight (grperm2) that not carry out the specification. The results obtained from the analysis with the method of Six Sigma (DMAIC) the filling process is obtained value of process capability (Cp), process capability index (Cpk), and sigma value respectively of 0.59, 0.32 and 2.43. The results are still below the ideal target, so the company must make process improvements. These improvements are carried out by ensuring the standard temperature and air pressure on the freezing machine and making the procedures more clear as the reference operator.
