Abstrak Tujuan tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengembangan pariwisata kota Manado melalui slogan “Manado Kota Cerdas. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui pendekatan deskritif. Analisis data menggunakan model analisis data (flow model). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan upaya pemerintah mewujudkan visi Manado Kota Cerdas pada tahun 2021, dengan menyelenggarakan berbagai program terkait untuk pengembangan dan pengelolaan kota termasuk di dalamnya pengembangan pariwisata berkelanjutan. Pengembangan pariwisata dalam bentuk program-program yang menarik dan inovatif tersebut yaitu membangun Manado sebagai kota “Cendekia” dengan sumber daya manusia yang cerdas dan tangguh melalui peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dan membangun Manado sebagai destinasi “Ekowisata” berbasis konservasi lingkungan laut dan kepulauan. Luaran penelitian berupa publikasi ilmiah dalam jurnal Internasional, HKI. Kata Kunci: Pengembangan, Pariwisata, Manado Kota Cerdas.

This study aims to analyze how the competency of waitresses influence the service quality of restaurant in the city of Tomohon today. There are several elements that become the standard to become professional waiters, namely, Skill, Knowledge and Attitude and three elements that are measured in determining the level of service quality, namely Reliability, Responsiveness and Assurance. Understanding competency steward is the ability of individuals in their work or a basic character depicted on an effectiveness or good performance in a particular place and situation. The analysis used in this research is quantitative analysis with a simple correlation data analysis method to determine the level of competence of waiters for service quality. The analysis of the coefficient of determination to find out how much the competence of the waitresses affect the quality of service. The analysis results obtained the correlation value where r = 1.735 which states that the strong influence between the competency of the waiter on the quality of restaurant service in Tomohon City then the coefficient of determination is KD = 54.1% on the quality of service. From these results it can be said that the influence of the waiter competence variable by 54.1% on service quality and the remaining 45.9% is influenced by other factors.The results showed that the competency of waitresses was very influential on the quality of restaurant services in the of Tomohon. Therefore, the supervisors in each restaurant need to be able to provide training or provide opportunities for employees to develop themselves by attending trainings conducted by the government or in collaboration with other competent parties such as the Professional Certification Board which receives direct supervision from the National Professional Certification Agency.

Analysys of Manajerial Ability in The Family Business Performance with InformationTechnoly Skills as an Intervening Variable: (Study on Craetive Tourism Industry of Handycraft SME’s in North Sulawesi Province. This study examines the effect of manajerial ability on family business performance with information technology skill as an intervening variable of handicraft SME’s in North Sulawesi province. A good SME handycraft business performance will strengthen the existence of SME’s in the domestic market and upgrade the ability to compete equally in the global market. The population of this study is the handycraft business consisting of 77 handycraft business units. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with primary data sourced from SME business owner who know the condition of the use of information technology and managerial ability in managing the business. The method used to analyze the data is Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the aid of smatPls. The results of data analysis show that business performance can be seen from the managerial ability which is 90.60% and managerial ability for information technology at 94.10%. the result of Hypothesis testing show that managerial ability has a positive effect on family business performance and the manager’s ability has a positive effect on information technology skill, but information technology has no effect on business performance of handycratf SME’s in North Sulawesi Province.

Komunikasi merupakan hal yang penting, yang tidak bisa lepas dari berbagai aspek kehidupan manusia.Meskipun hotel mempunyai fasilitas yang dilengkapi dengan teknologi modern, namun adanya kendala komunikasi antara Front office dengan Housekeeping timbul masalah yang dapat menyebabkan komplain tamu di Melva Balemong Hotel & Resort. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan spesifikasi kualitatif dengan melihat dan mengamati komunikasi antara front office dan housekeeping. Hubungan Housekeeping dengan Front office ibarat dua sisi mata uang yang tidak mungkin berdiri sendiri, oleh sebab itu hubungan ini menjadi suatu divisi yang disebut Room Division. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh staf front office dan housekeeping di Melva Balemong Hotel & Resort sudah baik namun waktu yang diperlukan dalam penyampaian pesan masih memerlukan saling pengertian karena media belum optimal dan juga dibantu Housekeeping untuk adanya penerapan SOP di masing-masing bagian. The growing retail business of coffee shops in Indonesia makes retail companies need to be able face big competitive competition in the market in order to maintain their existence. The purpose of this study is to find out whether customer value and service quality could have positive influence to customer satisfaction, and to know whether customer satisfaction have positive influence to customer loyalty of Maxx Coffee Benton Junction Lippo Karawaci. Data collection was done by using questionnaire instrument. The population in this study were the customer of Maxx Coffee Benton Junction Lippo Karawaci. The number of samples in this study were 100 respondents with convenience sampling technique. In performing statistical analysis, PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling) was used with using SmartPLS 3.2.7 as the software. The results showed that customer value and service quality have positive influence to customer satisfaction and customer satisfaction have positive influence to customer loyalty of Maxx Coffee Benton Junction Lippo Karawaci.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi objek wisata pulau paniki, untuk mengidentifikasi potensi objek wisata pulau paniki , dan untuk mengkaji keterlibatan masyarakat lokal dalam pengembangan objek wisata pulau paniki. Metode yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif yaitu memberikan ulasan atau interpretasi terhadap data dan informasi yang diperoleh sehingga menjadi lebih menarik di dalam penyajiannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pulau Paniki memiliki potensi wisata yang sangat indah, terletak ditengah pantai dengan pasir putihnya yang berkilau saat terkena sinar matahari. Keindahan Pulau Paniki dapat dinikmati pada saat air laut surut pada jam 11.00 siang sampai 16.00 sore. Selain itu disekitar pulau paniki terdapat hamparan hutan mangrove yang luas dengan beragam species yang ada. Hutan mangrove ini bertujuan menangkal abrasi pantai. Potensi wisata pulau paniki belum dikelola dengan baik terlihat dari belum adanya fasilatas dan infrastruktur pendukung pariwisata seperti kios makanan, kios souvenir dan akomodasi homestay atau penginapan lainnya. Salah satu jalur masuk ke Pulau Paniki adalah melalui dermaga yang ada di desa Kulu dan beberapa perahu motor yang digunakan sebagai alat transportasi laut menuju Pulau Paniki. Keterlibatan masyarakat pun masih relative kurang dilihat dari kebersihan di sekitar Pulau Paniki dalam menjaga kelestarian alam. Sampah yang dibawah oleh wisatawan ke pulau paniki masih dibuang di sekitar pantai dan dibawah ke laut sehingga pada saat air pasang lokasi sekitar pulau paniki menjadi bersih kembali. Perlu diadakan sosialisasi dan pelatihan terhadap keterlibatan masyarakat dalam mengelola wisata alam pulau paniki dan menjaga kelestarian alam sekitar dengan tidak membuang sampak di sekitar pulau paniki.

Tetempangan Hill is one of the tourism objects in the land of Minahasa which becomes a favorite destination for both local, national and international tourists who want to enjoy the beauty of green hill view and the stretch of blue ocean. This research was conducted using Descriptive qualitative method and the data were collected using questionnaires distributed to respondents. The characteristics of tourists who visited Tatempangan Hill were dominated by male tourists with a percentage of 60 % and the remaining 40 % were female tourists and the tourist characteristics based on age were dominated by the tourists aged 15 to 29 years, followed by tourists aged 30 to 44 years. The tourists’ perceptions based on attraction (attractiveness), accessibility ( transportation), amenities ( facilities) were dominated by positive perceptions except the food and drink kiosks which were negative. The factors that motivated the tourists to visit Tatempangan Hill were ,firstly, to see the natural beauty and secondly , to accompany families and thirdly, to experience physical challenges , fourthly, to have relaxation /rest , fifthly , to enjoy something different and finally, to get closer to nature. It is suggested that the object operator add the menu sold at the food and drink kiosks considering that the tourists get problems with their food and drink needs since the kiosks only sell snacks and cup noodles.

The modern museum management is needed to increase the number of tourists visiting the museum. Museum House of Sampoerna is a museum that has been trying to implement a modern museum management so as to change the public's perception of the museum. In general, people have almost the same perception of museums including that the museum was not clean, has a characteristic odor, poor service, facilities are extremely limited, and the museum only be visited once in a lifetime. This study was conducted to determine the extent of the potential of a modern musem if it is managed as a tourist destination in its efforts to attract foreign tourists and domestic tourists with case study on Museum House of Sampoerna, which is as a major tourist destination of Surabaya. The method used in this research is to analyze the data and information obtained from the field research and documentation using SWOT analysis and describe the results of the analysis to the purpose to be achieved by this research. The results showed that the museum House of Sampoerna has tried to make a modern museum management by providing support facilities are modern that can add convenience and attract tourists to visit this museum. Modern facilities provided by the museum house of sampoerna were art gallery, cafe, souvenir shop, public areas for art events, and bus to Surabaya heritage track program. Modern museum management will increase visits to the museum and even tourists will visit more than one time in a lifetime. This study has limitations that the data and information not obtained from all stakeholders of a museum, but only from researcher observation, documentation and interview with the management. Suggested for further research to use visitors as a respondent to represent the public perception of the museum.

English competence is determined by its grammar mastery, more specifically Academic English Competence. In daily conversation, mastery of grammar is not the key point but in Academic English, the mastery of grammatical sentences is an important aspect. The general objective of this research is to prepare the higher semester students to master Academic English in order that they pass the test for further studies both in domestic and foreign universities as well as pass the test for employment recruitment both in public and private sectors that require good Academic English mastery. The specific objective of this research is to enable the target students to fulfill the requirements for undertaking internship in foreign countries and write internship report in English as well as write the Final Project / Skripsi in English. The method used in developing the students’ Academic Writing Skill is Translation Method since this method provides ample grammatical exercises starting from sentence level translation , paragraph level translation and essay level translation as well as vocabulary practice .Further, the students are given examples of ideas in writing sentences, paragraphs and essays. Finally the students are trained to write tourism topics directly in English without depending on translation. The method of this research is Qualitative method. The results of research show that translation Method is very effective in developing the students’ Academic Writing Skills. The final test average score obtained by the Experimental group is 23 % higher than that of the Control group.

Although English is taught in all levels of education in Indonesia starting from Primary Education, English command of the majority of students is poor after learning for at least 6 years during the Junior and Senior High School levels or for the total of 10 years for other students who study English starting from the third grade of Elementary School or even for 11 years for those who go to university and have English subject for two semesters. This poor result is, of course, caused by many factors such as the teacher, the student, the curriculum, the facility, the methodology, etc. Considering that methodology might be one of the causes of failure, the researchers applied guessing game in teaching communication skills at Porodisa Learning Center Manado. The objectives of this research are to find out whether Guessing Game (1) is effective to motivate the students to communicate in English, (2) can improve the students’ grammatical command, and (3) can increase the students’ vocabulary. The method used in this research was qualitative method and the data analysis used was descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through guided interview, observation and documentation while the sample was taken using purposive sampling technique. The results of the research show that: Guessing game is very effective for teaching communication skills. This game can also improve the learner’s grammatical command and it is also useful for increasing the learners’ vocabulary.
