Abstract

Introduction: Introduction: Nursing rounds aimed to solve patient nursing problems performed by nurses and patients to discuss and implement of nursing care. The implementation of the nursing round can be influenced by knowledge, attitudes, subjective norms, and intentions. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the nursing round in the Inpatient Room of Bajawa Hospital. Method: The design of this study was cross-sectional. The total population were 108 and obtainned 98 respondents by total sampling. Independent variables were knowledge, attitudes, subjective norms, and intentions. The dependent variable was the implementation of the nursing round. The instrument used a questionnaire. Data was analyzed by Spearmen's Rho.Result: Dominant factor on implementation of nursing round was intention (p=0.007). There was a relationship between knowledge and attitude (p=0.000), knowledge with subjective norms (p=0.000), attitudes with intentions (p=0.004), subjective norms with intentions (p=0.002), intention with nursing rounds (p=0.030).Conclussion: The implementation of the nursing round will run well with good knowledge, positive attitude, good subjective norms, and good intentions from the nurse to carry out the nursing round. So that training in nursing rounds is needed and the implementation of nursing rounds should be regular and continuous.

Abstract

Introduction: Nosocomial infection is a cross infection that occurs due to the displacement of microorganisms through health workers and tools used when taking action. The most effective way to prevent nosocomial infections is to run universal precaution, one of which is by washing the hands on each handling hospital patients. The purpose of this study was to study the relationship of perceptions, motivations, and characteristics of nurses with hand hygiene in the internist room in the hospital.Method: The type of research was observational analytic and simple random sampling technique. The independent variables were perception, motivation, and characteristics of nurses. The dependent variable was the hand hygiene. The sample of the research was 132 nurses at Santa Elisabeth Hospital, Medan. The data was collected using a questionnaire. The analysis used a multiple linear regression test.Result: The result of the study obtained that there was a correlation between perception with implementation hand hygiene with the value p = 0,005 < α= 0,05. There was a relationship between characteristics with implementation hand hygiene with a value of p = 0,002 < α= 0,05. There was a correlation between motivation with the implementation of hand hygiene with a value of p = 0,001 < α= 0,05.Conclusion: Hospital Santa Elisabeth Medan will be better terrain for increase and infrastructure support in the implementation of the or the ability students in implementing activities prevention nosocomial infections to others and patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Nursing documentation is a legal aspect that protects nurses in providing nursing services, but incomplete documentation is still found. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between motivation, supervision, and workload with the quality documentation of nursing care in the Medical Inpatient Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya.Method: This study used a descriptive correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The population was 135 nurses and 100 nurses were obtained by simple random sampling. Independent variables are motivation, supervision, and workload. The dependent variable is the quality documentation of nursing care. Data were obtained by motivation, supervision and observation sheets: TMS (Time Motion Study), SAK (Nursing Standards) and analyzed with Spearman's Rho, Regression Logistic with α=95%.Result: There was a relationship between motivation (p = 0,000; r = 0,363) with the quality of nursing care documentation, there was a relationship between supervision (p = 0,012; r = 0,310) and the quality of nursing care documentation and there was a relationship between workload (p = 0,002; r = 0,299) with the quality of nursing care documentation. Conclusion: There was a relationship between motivation, supervision, and workload with the quality of nursing care documentation. It is known that motivation was the most related factor in the quality of nursing documentation.

Abstract

Introduction: The Patient Safety Incidence (PSIs) is still a major problem in hospitals and each incident needs to be properly recorded and reported. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors associated with the reporting of patient safety incidents to nurses based on Kopelman's Theory approach.Method: Analytical descriptive research design with Cross-sectional approach. The population of all nurses and obtained samples of 121 nurses were taken using cluster random sampling. Independent variables were knowledge, motivation, rewards, training, and feedback. The dependent variable was the reporting of patient safety incidents. The instrument uses questionnaires and observations with logistic regression test analysis.Result: There was a relationship between rewards (p = 0.011), training (p = 0.007) and feedback (p = 0.030) with reporting patient safety incidents. But there was no relationship between knowledge and motivation with reporting of patient safety incidents. Conclusion: Increasing rewards, training, and feedback are things that influence PSIs reporting. So that management support in PSIs reporting is needed to improve the quality of services in hospitals.

Abstract

Introduction: Standard precaution to prevent infection is applied in patient treatment in the health service facility to prevent the cross of infection has established prior to patient diagnosis, laboratory examination, and after patient diagnosis. The aim of this research was to analyze some factors related to nursing compliance in the application of standard precaution in the X Regional Public Hospital.Method: Research used correlational design by using the cross-sectional method. The populations of this research were all nurses who worked in the UGD and the X hospital treatment room. The samples were used 90 respondents of 116 nurses who were sampled by using stratified random sampling. The dependent variable was nursing compliance. Meanwhile, the independent variables were an individual factor (knowledge and perception of risk), occupational factor (resistance of standard precaution application and workload), and organizational factor (safety climate, information and training, and facility availability). Instruments used questioner and observation. Then they were analyzed by using logistic regression test with significant rate <0.05.Result: There was a significant relationship between knowledge (0=0.014), information and training (p=0.023) with nurse compliance in the application of Standard Precautions. Conclusion: The increase of knowledge, information, and training effect to nurse compliance in the application of standard precautions, so it is needed management support in increasing knowledge, information, and training about standard precautions.
