Abstract

A quality control circle (QCC) is a group of workers who do the same or similar work, who meet regularly to identify, analyze, and solve work-related problems. This paper is a literature review on the role of QCC in enhancing work safety in the manufacturing and services industry. This paper explores how quality control circles (QCC) enhance work safety in a firm manufacturing environment. The method used is reviewing inquiry papers that use QCC consistently. The findings of this study can be considered as a roadmap for the successful implementation of QCC in all industries. The results obtained contribute to advances on QCC research for identifying that the concepts sustainable of quality manufacturing and service industries can enable quality to have positive impacts on all the sustainability dimensions in an integrated way, and also supporting the implementation of the quality plan in the following aspects: continues improvement; quality management; management improvement. In essence, these research results will help management make crucial decisions and resource allocations required to make the QCC implementation a succes.

Abstract

This paper describes the high downtime on continuous blanking machines. The result is that companies suffer losses in cost, human resources, and time. Therefore, companies need to implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). TPM aims to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing companies. Then the TPM itself needs to be evaluated. One of the methods used is the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) as an indicator of the machine's effectiveness by calculating the six big losses to determine the factors that influence the six factors of the six big losses. Based on research that has been done, the machine availability ratio is 99%, performance efficiency is 84%, product rate of quality is 83%. While the value obtained on the OEE calculation is 71%, the value is below the world's ideal OEE standard value of > 85%. The highest loss values for six big losses are idle and minor stoppage losses with a percentage of 62.73%, setup and adjustment losses of 14.38%.

Abstract

This research is a literature review from various journals with the theme Total Productive Maintenance which is implemented in various companies in Indonesia. The purpose of this paper is as a means of sharing and learning between companies that can be taken as a brainstorming theme related to machine performance within a company, which may not occur between companies that problems outside of the machine problem. The OEE factor of the machine is one of the parameters that is the goal which results in poor engine performance. The research method is to search journals from various sources that have keywords related to TPM. The number of journals found from 2015 to 2020 was 60 journals which were finally iterated to become 46 journals to be selected for this paper. The concept of Pareto and Root caused Analysis (4M + E) is a helpful tool in concluding the literature review in this paper, while the TPM Pillar will provide a solution guide for each problem that has been summarized in 4M + E which will be classified from each problem to be the solution of the problem. that has been found. The conclusions of this literature review are related to this new card problem which is the focus of attention. It is the result of operator changes associated with the contract system which causes this change to be properly prepared at the time the new operator works. The previous operator's method that has been good needs to be transferred to the operator that will enter. However, this is often a big gap with the preparation of this skill transfer and the fatigue factor of operators who have side jobs, with the proliferation of online-based applications causing business operators to seek additional income so that their main work is neglected.

Abstract

The industry's development increasingly makes businesses competitive by increasing technical knowledge and improving systems, both internally and externally. The PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) cycle is a quality management system used as a continuous improvement tool widely used in industries. The PDCA is a continuous improvement tool that is widely used in industries. The PDCA cycle begins with small to check possible effects on systems and eventually progresses to larger and more specific improvements. The implementation of the PDCA method results in solving the problems of qualitative and quantitative data problems that have been widely applied in industries for continuous improvement and as a work pattern in improving a process or system in an organization and increasing productivity. The methodology used in this research is the literature review research paper was published in 2010-2020. The literature review describes the relationship between thinking and gaps in theoretical and practical thinking about applying the PDCA method and the successful implementation in industries as a contribution to further research.

Abstract

The efficiency of the curing process is one of the critical points in the tire manufacturing industry. One of the factors that need to be considered in curing efficiency is the low age of the bladder as an auxiliary material used for heat / thermal transfer from the curing machine to green tires during the curing process. Low bladder life will directly impact the high frequency of bladder changes, leading to lost time in the preparation and assembly of the curing machine at the processing stage. In this condition, when studied, the average life span of the bladder in 2017 was 237 times used, while the company's target in 2018 for the bladder life target was set at 450 times to support the curing process efficiency project. This study aims to analyze the potential problems that cause a low shelf life. This research uses the concept of DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to determine the main causal factors and preventive actions and to determine priority improvements based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN). The improvement results showed that bladder life could increase from 237 times to 450 times as targeted, loss of bladder change during curing could reduce 0.79%, and index bladder consumption could be reduced by 36.7% total cost savings of USD 196,576 per year.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore benchmarking in various industries beyond Indonesia to find the gap between each industry and what makes it different from Indonesia. Benchmarking is recognized as an essential instrument for continuous quality enhancement. In this paper, the author has reviewed 60 articles distributed from 2015 to 2020 in a variety of journal research and journal review. Systematic literature reviews are the approaches used in this study since a precise, consistent, and clear methodology, with a variety of steps, guarantees sufficient rigor and clarity in the literature review process. Authors have a review in multi-perspective to help researchers, academics, and practitioners more deeply understand and take a closer look at the growth, development, and applicability of this technique. Authors have classification the various paper-based on goals and scope of achievement from benchmarking applicable. In Addition, this paper also needs to find a better solution from each gap of benchmarking in the pandemic situation with the industry 4.0 approach

Abstract

A systematic review is a method used by researchers to identify, assess, and interpret all findings on research topics to be understood from various research perspectives before the researcher conducted the primary research. This article aims to determine which areas the Balanced Scorecard has used and applied using a systematic review method. The Balanced Scorecard is a concept for measuring the performance of an organization with four different perspectives. The preliminary article screening technique used is to review research papers with the keyword "Balanced Scorecard." 30 articles apply the balanced scorecard in various fields, including health, industry, transportation, finance, business, and management. From the financial and customer perspectives, there are 11 journals each. There are eight journals and 11 journals from internal business processes. The balanced scorecard theory, which is presented in 4 different perspectives, makes the balanced scorecard a balance between measuring an organization's performance in various fields.

Abstract

Six Sigma has received a lot of attention in the industrial sector from the manufacturing industry to the service industry. More in-depth knowledge of Six Sigma has been overgrowing. Many pieces of training and researches on Six Sigma conducted in industries and universities. This literature review aims to present an overview of the implementation of Six Sigma in the service industry. Besides, it can also be useful to obtain information about the benefits achieved, the main difficulties encountered, and lessons that can be taken in the implementation of Six Sigma. Hopefully, this finding will be useful for other service organizations that wish to implement Six Sigma. The Six Sigma method that has long been introduced and implemented is DMAIC (Determine, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control).
