Abstract

Health care institutions must strive to satisfy customers. The spread of customer complaints should be avoided and instead customer satisfaction should be spread effectively. Satisfied customers usually have high loyalty, which must be maintained rather than chasing other customers who are not necessarily loyal. With the increasingly fierce competition in the global era, customer satisfaction must get serious attention. Every health service provider must try to satisfy customers if it wants to exist in the competition. Keywords: health service; quality; customer satisfaction

Abstract

Brushing your teeth can't remove tartar, what can remove tartar is scaling. scaling can have a negative impact on the teeth, because previously the teeth were surrounded by tartar, and after scaling there is an empty space in the subgingival area and leaves a wound or scratch on the tooth tissue, causing the tooth to feel sore or painful. This study aimed to analyze the increase in dentin sensitivity after scaling at the Dental Polyclinic, Grestelina Hospital, Makassar. The design of research was one group pretest-posttest. The subjects were 30 patient, selected using accidental sampling technique. Pain before and after the procedure was measured using the Visual Analogue Scale. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test. The results of the Wilcoxo test showed a p value = 0.000, so it could be interpreted that there was a difference in the level of dentin sensitivity between before and after the scaling procedure. In this case, after scaling, the sensitivity level becomes increasingly severe. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the scaling action significantly increases the sensitivity of the dentin, so that the pain becomes more severe. Abstract

Caries is one of the main problems of dental and oral health in adults and the elderly. Treatment of caries in adults and the elderly can be done using natural ingredients that contain anti-bacterial properties against streptococcus mutans bacteria, including Jatropha curcas L. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Jatropha leaves as an inhibitor of Streptococcus mutans in dental and oral care in adults and the elderly. This study is a narrative review. Information is obtained from various scientific sources in the form of books, articles and other scientific sources. Based on the results of the narrative review above, it can be concluded that the inhibition of jatropha leaf latex (Jatropha curcas L.) against Streptococcus mutans is effective. Keywords: Jatropha curcas L.; Streptococcus mutans; caries; adults; elderly

Abstract

Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic that is absorbed by the tooth surface and has antibacterial properties against organisms that try and is the most effective mouthwash to reduce plaque. Dental plaque is a soft, non-calcified layer of bacteria that accumulates and adheres to the teeth. In the form of a thin layer, dental plaque is generally invisible and can only be seen with the help of a disclosing agent. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of 0.2% chlorhexidine mouthwash on plaque formation in students of the Department of Dental Health, Poltekkes Kemenkes Makassar 2019. This type of research was pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 30 students of Department of Dental Health, Poltekkes Kemenkes Makassar, selected by purposive sampling technique. Data on plaque before and after mouthwash was measured by plaque index. The difference in plaque index between before and after the intervention was analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results of the analysis showed that before the intervention, the majority of respondents had a plaque index in the good category (63%), while after the intervention, the majority of respondents also had a plaque index in the good category, with a larger proportion of 77%. Furthermore, it was concluded that 0.2% chlorhexidine mouthwash was effective in reducing plaque on teeth. Keywords: chlorhexidine 0.2%; mouthwash; plaque index

Abstract

Failure to produce breastmilk in the first days can interfere with early breastfeeding. In 2017, 44% of infants get prenatal meals 3 days after birth. The study was using a complementary technique of combination back massage frirage and acupressure to speed up the breastmilk production and increase the breastmilk supply to the baby so that we can prevent stunting in the baby. Researchers had done a quasi-experimental with a post-test design only with a control group design. The size sample of 60 mothers after giving birth and their babies with sample size of each group was 30 respondents, selected using systematic random sampling. Data collection was using an interview checklist for breastmilk extraction times and sufficient breastmilk for the baby. The researcher conducted an analysis of data using Mann Whitney U and independent samples t-tests. In the results of this study, there was an effective combination of back massage frirage and acupressure techniques on accelerate breastmilk production and increase breastmilk requirements for babies (p-value

Abstract

Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) is pain felt before or during menstruation. Dysmenorrhea can be felt as a sensation of pain, cramps, and contractions in the uterus that are more than usual in intensity, frequency, and duration. Dysmenorrhea can occur even without problems in the reproductive organs. If not handled, This can be troublesome for the daily activities of young women. Several non-pharmacological therapies, such as yoga, attempted to overcome menstrual pain complaints in adolescent girls. Aim: Determining the effectiveness of the yoga method on the intensity of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in adolescent girls on Kelong Island, Bintan Regency, in 2022. Method: This quantitative study uses a quasi-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design for 35 samples. The design of this study used a pre-test before being given treatment; thus the results would be more accurate because it could compare the conditions before and after being given treatment. Data were collected from January to May 2022, then measured using a numerical scale. Data analysis using t-test dependent and independent. Results: Based on the statistical test in yoga treatment, the p-value is 0.000 (p

Abstract

Blood pressure is an essential factor in the human body's circulatory system. Blood pressure is the pressure felt by the artery walls when blood is pumped by the heart throughout the body. The instrument used to measure blood pressure is a sphygmomanometer. The sphygmomanometer used to work manually, but now it works automatically using digital. The accuracy of the digital sphygmomanometer measurement depends on the battery life. The brand of digital or mercury sphygmomanometer and periodic calibration can also affect the measurement results. The purpose of this study was to see the accuracy of using a digital, mercury, and aneroid sphygmomanometer for the residents of the Rumah Bahagia Bintan Elderly Nursing Home and the Health Polytechnic of Tanjungpinang students in 2019. The design of this study was observational with a cross-sectional research design. The sample used in this study were 30 residents of Rumah Bahagia Bintan Elderly Nursing Home and 30 first-year students of Health Polytechnic of Tanjungpinang. Data were collected by measuring blood pressure with a digital, mercury, and aneroid sphygmomanometer 3 times with an examination interval of 5 minutes. The data analysis used the Mann-Whitney Test because the data were normally distributed with a significance of 5%. The study showed no difference between systolic and diastolic blood pressure using a digital, mercury, and aneroid sphygmomanometer. Keywords: mercury sphygmomanometer; digital sphygmomanometer; aneroid sphygmomanometer; blood pressure

Abstract

The family's active role during labor as an act of maternal love can reduce the incidence of labor complications and achieve safe delivery. This study aimed to determine the effect of the delivery companion module on the duration of labor in women giving birth in the archipelago region. The design in this study used a quasi-experimental with post-test only control group design. The sampling technique uses the hypothesis test of two independent population means of 34 maternal mothers. The research was conducted at the Bidan Praktik Mandiri (BPM) in Tanjungpinang City, from March to May 2022. The research tools used were observation sheets and partographs. To determine whether there is an influence of the independent variable and the dependent variable, statistical analysis of the Independent Sample t-Test is used. The results showed a significant effect of the delivery companion module on the length of labor in normal delivery mothers (p=0.00). Labor accompanied by a husband with a delivery companion module can shorten the delivery process compared to without a delivery companion module. Using the delivery companion module as a health promotion media is recommended to shorten the delivery process. Keywords: module childbirth assistant; length of labor
