Academic Journal of Psychology and Counseling is a scientific publication that efforts to facilitate academic articles and scholarly writings of a number studies in empirical research in the field of Psychology and Counseling. Academic Journal of Psychology and Counseling is open to academics, students, researchers, and practitioners who are interested in contributing their thoughts, especially in the field of Psychology and Counseling. The main focus of Academic Journal of Psychology and Counseling is welcomes research articles (qualitative and/or quantitative methods), and conceptual review about psychology and counseling. Novel ideas and originality that trigger further research are emphasized. Abstract

Guidance and Counseling Guidelines on Primary and Secondary Education issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia in 2016 is one of the main modules of the implementation of guidance and counseling in Indonesia which is full of various studies. This paper aims to find out what indicators of the implementation of counseling guidance and the implementation of counseling guidance is in line with those indicators. The research conducted is normative or literatures studies research.  The results of the analysis showed 4 (four) indicators in guidance and counseling services: first, through characteristics; second, through the interrelationship of developmental tasks and standards of self-reliance competencies, which focus on the suitability of levels and developmental tasks; third, through both test and non-test techniques; and fourth, through the utilization of assessment data as an evaluation material for students. In its implementation, guidance and counseling services focus on developments that are in line with the characteristics and duties of learners.

Abstract

Adolescent who are currently sitting on high schools or should be equal begin to prepare for a career on the next one. Career determination is based on desire and potential of interests and talents. To understand these interests and potential, a measurement must be taken, one of them with an intelligence measuring instrument. The purpose of this study is to provide a profile of the adolescent girls intelligence living at the female orphanage in Solo city. This study is a descriptive quantitative study. The measuring instrument uses the IST intelligence test instrument. The career interest survey uses the RMIB. The subjects used were 8 beneficiaries in the female orphanage. Determination of the subject using purposive sampling, namely adolescent girls who sit at the high school level or equivalent. The measurement results show 2 people with IQ in the category above average, and 6 people with the average category. Of the 5 categorizations, no subject was in the low category. Abstract

The pandemic has brought changes so wide in Indonesia, and also for the students psychological well-being. This research aims to describe psychological well-being the final year students of IAIN Surakarta. The research method used a qualitative method. Informants the research were 10 student semester 9. Technique of analyzing data through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed the psychological well-being of students in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic was good, some was not good. Students who have good psychological well-being, are shown by having environmental mastery, autonomy, life goals, personal growth, self-acceptance, positive relationships with family, friends, and their supervisors. Subjects can be grateful for situation and take advantage of all limitations. Students who have poor psychological well-being tend to be often anxious, afraid, lazy and resigned to their situation without being accompanied by efforts to be productive, and unable to develop themselves in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

One difficulty to eradicate prostitution in Indonesia is due to the low self-efficacy of female prostitutes. This research aims to examine the effect of social support towards the self-efficacy of female prostitutes joining social rehabilitation in the women’s service house of Wanodyatama Surakarta. This research employed quantitative method with socal support and self-efficacy scales. Data testing was done by used validity test (used try-out), reliability test, normality test, and linearity test. Simple linear regression analysis was done for data analysis. There were 31 persons included in the sample through total sampling technique since the subject was less than 100 persons. The results show the significant value of t obtained (5% = 78.401) which is higher than t table (1.69913) at the significant level of 0.05. It can be concluded that Hα is accepted. It implies that there is significant effect of social support towards the self-efficacy of female prostitutes

Abstract

The lifestyle of hedonism is mushrooming among students due to the high intensity in using social media. Social media is used as a promotional media of products, thus resulting in the frequent appearance of advertisements on social media one of them instagram. The study aims to find out impulsive buying in student instagram users. The sample from this study is a student of Islamic psychology IAIN Surakarta class of 2018. Research using qualitative methods and research results are presented in qualitative descriptive form. The results showed someone impulsively buying a product that supports the style of life informant with a price of ≤ Rp. 150,000. Impulsive buying appears when scrolling up ads on Instagram. So it raises curiosity marked by following the online shop account. Therefore encourage informants to buy products as self-fertiliser. Hedonic motivation becomes one of the driving forces for someone to make purchases based on desire without paying attention to aspect of rationality.
