Abstract

Blood, a lack of insulin secretion, insulin metabolism and both. One herb that works as well as drop in blood glucose levels and repair the metabolism of insulin is an aloin founded in aloe vera. Aims. Knowing the effect of aloin on white male mice (Mus musculus) induced by STZ. Methode. The type of research is experimental with the approach "pre-post test control group design". The population in the study is the white male (Mus musculus) 2-3 months, weighing 20-40 grams by 24 mice obtained from the university's pharmacological laboratory of Andalas. This sample was random with 24 mice. Data analysis shows the results of distribution are abnormal so the analysis tests used to friedman and the hoc wilcoxon post test. Results. The highest levels of blood glucose include K (+) 1, which is 273.5 mg/dL are affected by aloin for a drop in blood glucose in STZ (mus musculus), based on wilcoxon's test on K (+) 2 on metformin, P1 aloin dose 0.5 mg/kg, P2 dose 1 mg/kg has the same strength in drop in blood glucose level 0.028 and the most decline in pre-post value in P2 aloin group 1 mg/dL. Conclusion. There are effects of metformin administration, aloin dose 0.5 mg/kg and 1 mg/kg on lower blood glucose, aloin dose 0.5 mg/kg and aloin 1 mg/kg could be used as replacement therapy.

Abstract

Background: Nutritional status is the end result of harmony between the intake of nutrients received by the body and the needs of nutrients needed. This balance determines a person's nutritional status, which can be divided into three categories: less, normal, or excessive. The adolescent phase is a crucial period in which nutritional needs increase significantly along with rapid physical growth and developmental processes. The transition from childhood to adolescence becomes a period in which the body requires more nutrients to support these changes. In addition to physical growth, factors such as lifestyle changes and the diet of adolescents also affect their intake and nutritional needs. An unbalanced diet or lack of attention to the nutrients needed can result in insufficient or excess nutritional status. This paper aims to determine the relationship between diet and nutritional status balance in adolescents. Method: This systematic review uses the PRISMA-P protocol (Preferred Reporting item for Systemic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocol). The study was collected through searches on Google Scholar and PubMed data sources ranging from 2018-2023. Keyword search using PICO-S (Population Intervention Technique Compare Results-Study). Results: Results from journals on Google Scholar and PubMed obtained 10 journals related to the title of literature review. Conclusions: From various studies in adolescents, it can be seen that there is a relationship between a healthy diet and a balance of nutritional status.

Abstract

Hospital is a crucial component of the current healthcare system and is in charge of supplying, preserving, and advancing community members' health using various resource. Networks are used to organize the numerous, complex health systems of today. Because of the partners' inconsistent behavior and lack of coordination, these networks are frequently underutilized. Each facility or even by industry or service, optimizes care quality and controls costs locally. A systematic global approach could enhance the general under optimization that emerges from this local concentration. The competition in the current global economy is between supply networks rather than enterprises. The comparison of supply chain performance indicators may last a very long time. This research uses a narrative review approach. There are a total of 23 papers used from databases from Science Direct, ProQuest, Scopus, SpringerLink, Hindawi, Google Scholar, JSTOR, and Emerald Insight. A supply chain's of medical consumables success is influenced by many internal and external factors such as exchange of information, enduring relationships, collaboration, and process integration. Agility becomes increasingly crucial to maintaining cooperation and teamwork, improving patients' experiences every time. Various elements influence the supply chain for medical consumables. Therefore, it is crucial to identify and evaluate the key variables influencing the healthcare supply chain for the medical consumables process and examine the strategies included in this review.

Abstract

Phlebitis is a common complication of intravenous infusion. Several types of intravenous dressings have been reported to prevent phlebitis, but research results are still inconsistent. Objective: To systematically review the effect of using transparent dressings on the incidence of phlebitis in inpatients receiving intravenous therapy. Method: An article search was carried out in 3 databases, namely PubMed, Proquest and Google Scholar with the keywords "phlebitis", "transparent dressing","intravenous therapy". Inclusion criteria included Static Group Comparison, Cohort prospective , quasi-experimental research design, a sample of adult inpatients, and outcomes in the form of phlebitis incidence. Results: There were 335 articles, and after screening only 4 articles met the criteria for review. Conclusion: Transparent dressing effective in reducing the incidence of phlebitis in intravenous therapy for inpatients. There needs to be an SOP for choosing the type of intravenous dressing in the hospital to prevent phlebitis.

Abstract

The number of elderly people in Indonesia is 24.24% of the total population. The incidence of Gouty Arthritis is also relatively high in Indonesia. WHO revealed that the prevalence reached 81%, so Indonesia is ranked highest in sufferers of Gouty Arthritis in Asia. Based on data taken from practice reports at the Periuk Jaya Community Health Center, especially in Periuk Village, 17 people suffered from gout in July 2023. Management of gout can be done with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. Pharmacologically, it collaborates with the administration of analgesics, according to research conducted, resulting in the conclusion that after carrying out the results, warm compresses are more effective in reducing pain in gout sufferers (Zahroh & Faiza, 2019). A warm compress is an easy and cheap measure, so it is hoped that it can overcome the pain complaints of elderly people with gout. This scientific paper is to describe the application of warm compresses to families experiencing gout to determine the effectiveness of warm compresses in reducing pain. The case study was carried out using warm compress therapy (Tepid Water Sponge) for 7 meetings lasting 10-15 minutes, treatment intervention using warm compress therapy and gout education. Post warm compress therapy (Tepid Water Sponge) Mr. S experienced different results, namely before applying a warm compress to gout sufferers with a pain scale of 6 (moderate pain) then after applying a warm compress it became a pain scale of 2 (mild pain) which was carried out for 7 meetings lasting 10-15 minutes. That while providing the warm compress technique (Tepid Water Sponge) was effective in reducing the pain felt by Mr. S thus experiencing a decrease of 4 levels.
