Abstract

This article exposes on Thaha Husain’s thoughts on the authenticity of the pre-Islamic poetry descriptively by investigating his arguments in his famous book Fi al-Syi’ri al-Jahili (On Pre-Islamic Poetry) which was then changed into Fi al-Adab al-Jahili (On Pre-Islamic Literature) with some revisions. This study mainly discusses the authenticity of the pre-Islamic poetry, its urgency in interpreting the Qur’an, and how the Qur’an views pre-Islam Arab society. It is revealed in the article that a lot of pre-Islamic poetry was not composed in the era of ignorance (Jahiliyah) by pre-Islamic Arab poet but by plagiarists in the era of Abbasiyah Empire for some purposes: political, religion, Qishshah and Hadith narrators. According to Thaha Husain, that a lot of the pre-Islamic poetry neither fit in with pre-Islam Arab nor describe objectively pre-Islam Arab society. It is sufficient to refer to the Qur’an, which certainly valid, to obtain objective descriptions of the pre-Islamic Arab society.

Abstract

This article is a library research which aims to reveal the interconnectivity of hadith with science, with the hadith about flies as a case in point. At least, there are 4 patterns of relationship between religion and science, namely conflict, independence, dialogue, or integration. Without reflecting on these 4 patterns, the principle of understanding religion will not be possible to do perfectly, because it is separate from the reality of human life. By using thematic methods and historical-sociological approaches to these hadiths, this article arrives at the findings that most of the microorganisms such as germs, viruses and microbes that are present in the body of flies can cause a number of diseases, but the micro development of living things on the fluids they inhabit can neutralized by submerging it. This proves that the discovery of science is in harmony and synergy with the hadith of the Prophet.

Abstract

The theory of naskh mansukh is still a debate between scholars regarding agreement and rejection. And among scholars who agree on the concept of nasikh mansukh in the Qur’an, each has their own criteria in determining the concept of nasikh. One of the scholars who agrees is Abdullah Saeed, a contemporary commentator who offers a new method of interpreting the Qur’an, namely the contextualist method. In this paper, researchers are interested in studying the concept of nasikh mansukh according to Saeed through the problems that occur in naskh mansukh Surah An-Nur verse 2. According to Abdullah Saeed, the concept of naskh mansukh gives a very logical idea that the applicable law may experience cancellation for the sake of fulfill the needs of the people due to different conditions and situations, if in the past the Qur'an was still decreasing then the solution from Allah to meet the needs of the people was to cancel the existing law by lowering new laws or nasikh mansukh, but now that the verses of the Qur’an have been coming down, it is to fulfill the needs ummah is by reciting the Qur’an. And Abdullah Saeed made naskh mansukh as a first step to contextualize the law of the Qur’an.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the realms of al-Farabi's philosophical thought, by focusing on four problems: Is God unnecessary in the process of creating nature to know, think and even make nature the object of his thought? 2). How to interpret the influence of Imagination that underlies al-Farabi's theory of prophethood? 3). How is al-Farabi's view of the human soul? and 4). What is the ideal state form for al-Farabi? To answer this problem, the method used is library research research, with a philosophical approach. The research results obtained: First, God does not depend on nature as the object of his thought in the process of natural creation. Second, the Prophet, through his strong imaginative abilities, was not only able to deal directly with Mustafad's intellect, but was also able to translate the revelations that were sent down and transferred to us. Third, the soul has two powers, a theoretical power, namely the human thinking power that can distinguish and judge and is able to express different competences, and the practical power is the power that determines what human actions must be done. Fourth, the ideal country is a country whose leader is not only political, but also includes ethical issues.

Abstract

Testimony is a statement made by a witness who saw the incident by himself and was at the scene at that time. Nothing can escape this evidence in the afterlife, nor can it be manipulated in the slightest. So the source of the problem that will be discussed is how to witness the body and the interpretation of the rationality of the testimony of the limbs in QS. Yasin: 65. The research approach used by the author is a qualitative approach and is more inclined to follow library research and uses thematic analysis methods, this research will rely on the interpretation of Al-Jawahir Fi Tafsiril Qur'an by Tantawi Jauhari and books. as primary sources, research journals, and research theses as secondary sources. And what is relevant to this research, the results of the testimony of the limbs according to tantawi Jauhari are that the limbs will testify and it is not only in the afterlife, the body can testify against its owner. but even in the law that applies in the world, the limb that can be used to prove it, to reveal a crime such as murder or abuse. Here the limbs are like hands, it can help to expose the crime. One of them uses a DNA or fingerprint test, and only Allah will see what the testimony on the Day of Judgment is.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze more comprehensively the meaning of the words al-sulbi and al-tara'ib. In its interpretation, the seventh verse of the letter al-Tariq is always associated with the study of the kauniyah verses, and the majority relates it to the process of human creation. In fact, if we refer to the basic meaning of both, al-s {ulbi means hard or strong, and al-tara'ib means dirt or dust, it is very far from being connected to the process of human creation. To solve this problem, the writer uses the method of interpretation of maud {u'i surah with the semantic approach of the Qur'an. From this analysis, the conclusion is that by using the method of interpretation of maud {u'i surah and considering the munasah in the letter al-T{{a>riq, then it could mean that the meaning is hard rocks (al-sulbi) and soft soil (al-tara'ib) on the crust of the earth, and is related to the discharge of water from the ground. This shows that it has nothing to do with the process of human creation. However, by using the semnatic approach of the Koran, it is found that the lafaz al-s {ulbi refers to the back and al-tara>'ib leads to the ribs of women. Thus, the explanation strongly supports the results of the interpretation in general, namely the process of human creation. Thus, it can be taken into account that in general verse 7 of the letter al-Ta>riq describes the process of human creation. And on the other hand, simultaneously there are systemic similarities with the process of releasing groundwater from the aquifer.

Abstract

As a guide to human life, the Qur'an has served many wise stories about the ancients so that we can make i'tibar in everyday life. One interesting story to study is the story of Ashab al-Sabt. The mufassir, both classical and contemporary mufassir, have their own interpretation in interpreting the story of Ashab al-Sabt contained in the Qur'an, even in interpreting the form of adzab in the story cendrung give rise to a polemic of prolonged interpretation. This research will describe the interpretation of Ibn Kathir and Wahbah al-Zuhaili on the story of Ashab al-Sabt and the similarities and differences between the interpretation of Ibn Kathir and Wahbah al-Zuhaili about Ashab al-Sabt. The approach used is qualitative approach with the type of literature research (library research). As for the results of this study, Ibn Kathir and Wahbah al-Zuhaili interpreted the story of Ashab al-Sabt as the story of the ancient people who lived on the outsized sea of Qazlum (red sea) of Ailah city who violated God's command not to catch fish on Saturday. Second, there is an equal interpretation between the two is that the form of God's curse on Ashab al-Sabt who committed violations in the form of physical curses that is the change of physical form into apes and the two mufassir agreed that in response to the agreement made, Ashab al-Sabt divided into three groups, namely: groups that commit violations, groups that prohibit violations and groups that are silent. The difference in interpretation between the two is that the interpretation of Wahbah al-Zuhaili is ahkam interpretation, this is seen when he interprets the story from the perspective of Fiqh al-Hayah wa al-Ahkam, that the story of Ashab al-Sabt part of the assertion of sadd dzara'i and the obligations of charity ma'ruf and nahi munkar.

Abstract

The writing of this article began with several arguments by Muslim scholars such as Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid who explained that the text was strongly influenced by the culture in which the text appeared or the opinion of A. Khalafullah who said that several Arab traditions were included in Islamic teachings. So the author wants to examine whether it is true that these cultures are able to influence the revelation of the Qur'an or not? Of course the research wants to explain that the Qur'an as the holy book of Muslims even though it is influenced by Arabic culture, but that culture is still relevant to Islamic teachings. Even some of the results of the author's research contained Islamic teachings that had no influence on Arab culture at that time. Therefore, the author wants to discuss this with the discussion of Arabism in the interpretation of the Qur'an using the library research method, the author will discuss this problem. As a result, the authors found several things that became Arab cultural traditions in the interpretation of the Qur'an, for example in terms of language, namely the Quraish language.
