Abstract

Lack of student awareness and participation in environmental sustainable management is caused in learning natural science has not provided a deeper portion of the formation of critical thinking skills and character building care about the environment.To provide a sufficient portion of the problem is done with the integration of environmental and ethical application of project assessment in learning natural science. Objectives to be achieved are 1) Develop a learning model integration of environmental ethics and  assessment project in learning Natural science, 2) Whether  the application learning models of environmental ethics and  assessment project in learning Natural science can increase student participation and awareness in environmental sustainable management ?Results of study are 1 ) Outline of the Learning Model, This learning model focused on how the application of environmental ethics of ethics "thank-you" with the assumption that building ethical relationship between humans and the environment. Human  who was accept all  needs of the environment must provide a response in the form of a sense of "love" to the environment. The realization of this character is a sense of caring, loving and arbitrarily against fellow beings and the environment.While the application of project assessment focuses formation of character in the form of critical thinking skills of observation, exploration, find a hypothesis, generalization and inquiry . 2) Development of learning objectives Model, Ethics and character development of students to participate and care about the environment through learning that is a mind on to  hand on shift, the goal is the building  of character expected of students who have the skills to think critically and be able to apply environmental ethics in everyday behavior through application of ethics "thank-you "in appreciating the relationship between living things and the environment 3) Model implementation of learning in the classroom,Application of learning models and the integration of environmental ethics in project appraisal given in class 7A SMP N 1 Klaten  school year 2011/2012 in semester 2.The objective of this model is  to know the level of participation and awareness of students on the environment. To determine the level of student participation and awareness of the environment is done by Daily observations of student behavior through peer assessment,Giving questionnaires and Implement the program "foster plant ". This program assigns students to grow plants in pots and kept in the school. Species is determined by the group and each student gets a small one plant.The application of such models in the study with the following results; 1) Daily behavioral observations 7A graders have changed hygiene behavior, especially in the classroom, responsibility in the completion of tasks, saving electric and water  and care plant   fosterage and other plants that exist in schools. Giving results of the questionnaire on the students obtained the level of awareness and participation of students on the environment reached 51.56% (cycle 1) and 77.3% (cycle 2) with the level of awareness and participation rates of students on the environment at a high level.2 )Foster the implementation of the plant in early trials of many plants which die, especially in boys. After the student is given motivation and guidance about what it has given plants on living things and how to apply any intelligent human ethics "thank-you" then the next month going enhancing students' awareness and participation for  foster care  and maintain our plant.  Keywords: environmental ethics, project assesment , participation, the management of sustainable environment.

Abstract

Abstrak -Roro Kuning merupakan salah satu kawasan wisata di Kabupaten Nganjuk yang masih alami dan berperan penting dalam menjaga kelestarian hayati. Secara keseluruhan kawasan wisata Roro Kuning memiliki berbagai macam tumbuhan termasuk tumbuhan lumut (Bryophyta). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis lumut teresterial atau yang tumbuh di tanah lembab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode transek jalur. Sampel lumut yang diambil dilengkapi data sekunder yang meliputi suhu tanah, suhu udara, pH, kelembapan, kecepatan angin, dan intensitas cahaya. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 5 jenis lumut yakni Marchantia emarginata, Marchantia geminata, Pallavicinia subciliata, Pogonatum macrophyllum dan Plagiochila pereloides.  Kata kunci : Lumut Teresterial, Roro Kuning Nganjuk

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to ascertain (1) the influence of SSCS and POE learning model on learning achievement biology of students (2) differences in the biology student learning achievement using learning model SSCS and learning model POE. The research was a quasi experimental research with a design randomized subjects posttest only control group design . The populations in this research were Student in class 8th at SMPN 1 Gondangrejo Karanganyar academic year 2013/2014 . Classes used in the study of 3 randomly selected classes . The first class 8thD applying POE learning model, second class 8thF applying SSCS learning model and the third is a control class 8thE applying conventional learning models specifically models of speech varies and experiment with a simple summary. The data was collected using tests, questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The Analysis using test validity, reliability, difficulty index problem, different power and to test hypotheses about the use of ANOVA and t test with help of SPSS 18. The results showed that : (1) There is the influence of the learning model Search Solve Create and Share (SSCS) and learning model Predict Observe Explain (POE) on learning achievement biology students of SMPN 1 Gondangrejo Karanganyar academic year 2013/2014 both the cognitive, affective , and psychomotor . It can be seen from the average student learning achievement in the experimental class and control classes on the cognitive, affective and psychomotor tests and the results of the ANOVA showed a significance value < 0.05. Further results of the ANOVA Post Hoc test Scheffe there are differences in learning achievement SSCS and POE models on affective and psychomotor domains, whereas the cognitive domain there are differences in learning achievement. The conclusion from the research are: (1) there are significant learning model SSCS and POE to biology students learning achievement, (2) learning model SSCS learning more effectively applied in the class 8th students of SMPN 1 Gondangrejo Karanganyar academic year 2013/2014 than POE and conventional  models it looks from the average value of the results of learning both the cognitive, affective and psychomotor higher grade SSCS. Keywords : SSCS learning models, POE learning models, learning achievement

Abstract

Abstract- This research was aimed to determine fluctuation of  Taphozous melanopogon population in Srunggo cave in Tuban karstic area. The research began in 2010 until 2012 in Srunggo cave in Tuban karstic area of eastern Java.  This research is ecological research with this type of research, Natural Trajectory Experimment  (NTE), population-local spatial scale, and one-generation temporal scale. Data was taked by line potret method (evening emergence count modification), twice in dry monsoon and rainy season everi years. Research data analysed by descriptive. Srunggo cave is a cave with single population of  Taphozous melanopogon. Population fluctuation this species between 2010 until 2012 that are 2126, 1946, and 1832 individu. The Population trend is decrease. That caused by human disturbance in habitat and illegal hunting by local people. The population during the rainy season in three years is likely to decrease, compared to the dry season. Abstract

Students experiencing difficulty in learning and applying the material in the course of Engineering Analysis Molecular Biology (TABM) because it is abstract. To overcome these problems, the necessary teaching materials in the form of modules TABM to assist students in learning the material contained in the course. The process of preparation of the modulesadapt the model of R & D were prepared by Walter Dick and Lou Carey (Dick et al, 2009). Modules are developed then evaluated by two experts teaching materials with a minimum educational qualification S3 with teaching experience of more than 5 years, and 18 students who are candidates for S1 and have to take TABM a course at the State University of Malang (UM). Based on the results of an expert evaluation of teaching materials and students as a whole, it can be concluded that the introduction module components, content , and grammar demonstrated excellent qualifications module so it can be concluded that the module does not need to be revised and can be used as a teaching material support for TABM course in State University of Malang ( UM ) . Keywords:teaching material, module, TABM

Abstract

Implementation of Lesson Study in Biology Education Program UNP Kediri studies have been initiated since the academic year 2012/2013. In the first, conducted for the course LS SPT and SPH on the second level of the 3rd semester. Subsequent semester applied for the course LS Basic Genetics and Plant Taxonomy.Research experience as a lecturer on the implementation of the Basic Genetic models LS is advantageous because the Plan stage, preparation of syllabi and lecture plan lecturer models got a lot of feedback about the matter, both the content and linkage with the subject matter in the next semester (Advanced Genetics), being on stage Do lecturer models aided by the observer observing student participation during the lecture. At this stage of the model describes the reflection lecturer findings obtained during learning such as discipline, willingness to learn, active participation in the discussions and in the process, and input from the faculty observer findings reinforce the model, so the lack of sub-optimal learning outcomes can be immediately known, and find a way exit.The research was conducted in the course of Human Anatomy Physiology Female Reproductive System on the theme, with a sample of students of Biology Education Program UNP Kediri of 35 students, the academic year 2013/2014. The findings obtained in cycle 1 by lecturers models of group 3A is less student discipline, willingness to learn, an increase from prior LS implemented, active student better than before although not comprehensive LS only about 40% of the number of students (35 people). In cycle 2, there was an increase in time classroom discipline, a willingness to learn increases seen from the test results of the evaluation of learning is on the first cycle increased 58.7 to 71.5 (up 36 %) and students are also more active in both the discussion and the question and answer after the presentation by the group renderer. Keywords : Implementation, Lesson Study

Abstract

Abstract - Oyster mushroom is one of the edible mushrooms consumed by people because it contains high protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, low carbohydrates, fat and calories. The content of bagasse are carbons, hydrogens, oxygens, crude proteins, crude fibers, hemicelluloses, celluloses and lignins. The content of banana flowers are proteins, carbohydrates, fats, phosphorus, calcium, vitamin A, B1 and C. The purpose of this research was to determine the growth and yield of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) on the different composition of sawdust, bagasse and banana flowers as the planting medium. This research is an experimental study using single factor completely randomized design consisting of five treatments: E0 (960 grams sawdust, without bagasse and banana flower), E1 (930 grams sawdust, 15 grams bagasse and 15 grams banana flowers), E2 (935 grams sawdust, 15 grams bagasse and 10 grams banana flowers), E3 (920 grams sawdust, 25 grams bagasse and 15 grams banana flowers) dan E4 (925 grams sawdust, 25 grams bagasse and 10 grams banana flowers), 3 replicates of each treatment. Data analysis used WAS One Way Anova test with a significance level of 0,05. The results showed that the best medium composition of 920 grams sawdust, 25 grams bagasse and 15 grams banana flowers (E3) significantly affected the growth of oyster mushroom mycelium (25,33 days), the number of oyster mushroom fruit bodies (23,33 fruits at harvest I and 9,00 fruits at harvest II) and the fresh weight of oyster mushroom fruit bodies (110,00 grams at harvest I and 83,33 grams at harvest II). Keywords : Pleurotus ostreatus, sawdust, bagasse, banana flowers

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce inquiry-oriented life skills modules on environmental pollution materials for high school students of class X and test their effectiveness in teaching Biology. This research is the development that follows the Borg and Gall development procedure includes several steps: (1) research and information gathering; (2) planning; (3) the initial product development; (4) limited trial; (5) revision of the product; (6) The main trial; and (7) the major product revision. The results of the validation and assessment by experts material, teaching material development experts, and practitioners implementing learning indicates that the module in the excellent category with an average percentage of achievement (p) more than 85%. This indicates that the module has been implemented in the learning feasible. Readability test showed performance of 84.90 ataubaik. In the main test phase gain values obtained scores of 0.64 (medium), which means the module has been quite effectively applied in learning. Keywords : inquiry, life skills, learning

Abstract

Abstract - Gendola (Basella rubra Linn) and Binahong (Anredera cardifolia) are medicinal plant. Gendola and Binahong leaves widely used as traditional medicine for Indonesian people.The objectives of this research were to examine the antioxidant activity and the total phenols content of Gendola leaf and Binahong leaf ethanolic extract. The antioxidant activity was measured by UV-Vis Spectrophotometer at 517 nm using 1-difenil-2pikril hidrazil hydrat (DPPH) as free radical. The total phenols content were measured by spectrophotometer at 360 nm. The result showed that IC50 value of ethanolic extract of Gendola leaf 84,70 ppm, and Binahong leaf 180,16 ppm. The total phenols content of ethanolic extract of Gendola leaf is 0,88%, and than ethanolic extract of Binahong leaf 0,54%. Keywords: antioxidant activity, DPPH test, gendola extract, binahong extract, total phenol
