Abstract

Mealybug damage roselle plant, so it can reduce the productivity of the plant. The purpose of this study identification mealybug on roselle plant. Identification is done using existing preserved specimens using a Zeiss stereo microscope SV11 connected with the camera lucida. The observation of preserved existing infestation is obtained that has the following characteristics: 1) Body oval, convex and white color because his body is covered by a layer of wax, 2) antenna consists of 9 sections, 3) had a great circle of the majority has a great body 4-5 mm, 4) have a multilocular hole of segment VI or VII to VIII, 5) Legs with transparent holes on the stale of the femur and the tibia, 6) Anal Ring large. It can be concluded that these features are found in Phenacoccus solenopsis roselle plant. Keywords: mealybug, roselle, identification

Abstract

This research aimed to describe suitability between assessment made by Biology teacher of 10th grade with the Syllabus. The kind of this research was descriptive. The subject of this research was Biology teacher at Senior High School in Ponorogo Regency. The source of this research was the teacher’s lesson plan and the responses in teacher’s questionnaire. The data collecting techniques were questionnaire and documentation. The data analysis was descriptive percentage. Based on the data analysis are known that assessment made by Biology teacher of 10th grade in the first semester is categorized less in accordance with the Syllabus. Keywords: assessment, Kurikulum 2013

Abstract

Abstract - Sesuruhan plants (Piper aduncum) and messengers (Piperomia pellucida) is a species of Piperaceae familia members. Both of these plant species containing antifungal compounds include: tannins, flavonoids, and saponins. Candida albicans is a yeast causing vaginal discharge disease. Antifungal potential of ethanol extract of the plant, particularly against C. albicans in vitro testing needs. The purpose of this study is to: 1) examine the effect of ethanol extract of leaves sesuruhan in some sort of concentration on the inhibition of growth of C. albicans in vitro; 2) examine the effect of ethanol extract of leaves of messengers in some sort of concentration on the inhibition of growth of C. albicans in vitro; 3) determine the most effective concentration of the ethanol extract of leaves and leaf sesuruhan messengers in some kind of concentration to inhibit the growth of C. albicans in vitro. Extracts of both species was obtained by maceration method with 95% ethanol, followed by sterile filtration and evaporation of the filtrate thus obtained. Filtrate was diluted in 10 concentration levels, namely: 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, and 90%. Testing the two kinds of power antifungal leaf species was conducted using agar diffusion technique of pitting on Sabouraud Dextrose Agar medium that has been inoculated with C. albicans. Measurement of C. albicans growth inhibitory zone performed after an incubation period of 1x24 hours. The results of this study are: 1) There is no effect of ethanol extract of leaves sesuruhan in some sort of concentration on the inhibition of growth of C. albicans in vitro. The higher the concentration of the ethanol extract of the leaves sesuruhan increasing inhibition of growth of C. albicans; 2) There is no effect of ethanol extract of leaves of messengers in some sort of concentration on the inhibition of growth of C. albicans in vitro. The higher the concentration of the ethanol extract of the leaves of messengers increasing inhibition of growth of C. albicans; 3) Ethanol extract of leaves and leaf sesuruhan errand at a concentration of 80% was the most effective concentration to inhibit the growth of C. albicans in vitro.  Keywords: antifungal power, Piper aduncum leaves, leaf Piperomia pellucida, Candida albicans

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the ability of high school biology teacher in preparing authentic assessment as the evaluation of learning. This study is a descriptive study using a non-hypothetical survey approach, data collection techniques with documentary studies and interviews. Data obtained in the form of assessment instruments that have been developed odd semester of high school biology teachers of the school year 2013/2014. Data already collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the research results of the preparation of the percentage of authentic instruments in a biology teacher lesson plan (RPP) is a high school teacher for assessment observation A (69.6%), description of assessment (45%), assessment assignment tests (54.2%), performance assessment ( 70.8%), assessment of the project (75%), portfolio assessment (75%), teacher B for a description assessment (55%) and project assessment (25%), whereas for C teacher observation assessment (50%), option valuation double (39%), assessment descriptions (37%), as well as evaluating the project (33.3%). Percentage capabilities suitability preparation of authentic instruments with standardized criteria in high school biology teachers in the odd semester of school year 2013/2014 is the preparation that do not fit the criteria of a teacher (53.5%), teacher B (92.03%) and teachers C (80.75%), while the corresponding criteria for the preparation of a teacher (46.5%), teacher B (7.97%) and teacher C (19.25%). Generally cause the preparation of an assessment instrument discrepancy is the format used in the assessment rubric high school has not been uniform in practice and not all teachers know the assessment items that must be used. Keywords: ability of teachers, authentic assessment, evaluation of learning

Abstract

Abstract- Oyster mushroom is one of the edible mushrooms consumed by people because it contains high protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, low carbohydrates, fat and calories. The Content of bagasse are carbons, hydrogens,oxygens, crude proteins, crude fibers, hemicelluloses,  celluloses,  lignins. The content of  banana peelss are water, proteins, carbohydrate, phosphorus; calcium; vitamin B and C. The Purpose of this research was to determine the growth and yield of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) on the different composition of sawdust, bagasse and banana peelss as the planting medium. This research is an experimental study using single factor completely randomized design consisting of five treatments: A0 (960 g sawdust, without bagasse and banana peelss), A1(930 g sawdust, 15 g bagasse and 15 g banana peelss), A2 (935 g sawdust, 15 g bagasse and 10 g banana peels), A3(920 g sawdust, 25 g bagasse and 15 g banana peelss) dan A4 (925 g sawdust, 25 g bagasse and 10 g banana peelss),3 replicates of each treatment. Data analysis used was One Way Anova test with a significance level of 0,05. The results showed that the best medium composition of 920 g sawdust, 25 g bagasse and 15 g banana peelss (A3) significantly affected the growth of oyster mushroom mycelium (29 days), the number of oyster mushroom fruit bodies (10.67 fruits at harvest I and 10.33 fruits at harvest II) and the fresh weight of oyster mushroom fruit bodies (106.67 g at harvest I and 86.67 g at harvest II).                                                                                                               Keywords : Pleurotus ostreatus, sawdust, bagasse, banana peelss.

Abstract

This research is aimed to: 1) Developing module based on ARIAS learning model to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter; 2) Find out whether or not the use of module based on ARIAS learning model is appropriate to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter; 3) Find out the effectiveness of module based on ARIAS learning model usage towards students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter. This study belongs to Research and Development referring to Borg dan Gall. Scheme of the module was developed into Module Draft 1. Module Draft I was validated by experts and practitioner based on content appropriateness, language, presentation, graph, base of ARIAS learning model, students’ learning motivation and critical thinking. The module was then tried out in small sample of 10 students in SMA N Kebakkramat. After revising the module based on suggestions from small scale test, the researcher revised the module into Draft II. The researcher used Module Draft II in real test on 36 students of class X-8 in SMA N Kebakkramat. The effectiveness of module towards students’ learning achievement, motivation and critical thinking was analyzed using gain score that was normalized for pre-test and post-test in the real test class. The module was then revised again into final product and was distributed to be widely developed. Results of the research are: 1) Module based on ARIAS learning model to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter is developed in Research and Development refering to Borg dan Gall; 2) Quality of module based on ARIAS learning model to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter belongs to Excellent Category in content appropriateness, language, presentation, graph and syntax of ARIAS learning model, it also shows Good Category in motivation and critical thinking appropriateness based on experts and practitioners; 3) Module based on ARIAS learning model to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter is effective in improving students’ learning motivation having N-gain score for 0.51 and is effective to improve students’ critical thinking having N-gain score for 0.60 in Medium Category. Keywords: Research and development, module, model, ARIAS, motivation, critical thinking

Abstract

Abstract -Diversity of wild mushrooms in Indonesia is still not widely studied. Among the species of wild mushrooms can be consumed. Need to do an inventory and characterization of the various species of wild mushrooms, especially edible mushrooms. This study aims to inventory and characterize wild mushrooms that can be consumed by the Society in the Wonojati Village, Subdistrict of Gondangwetan, District of Pasuruan, East Java. The study was conducted in February-March 2014. Research method used is purposive sampling methods. Location of collecting mushrooms are grouped into 3 areas including paddy field, plantation areas and residential areas. Mushroom samples obtained from Wonojati village, Subdistrict of Gondangwetan, Pasuruan District. The results of the study were found 3 groups of wild mushrooms consumed by the society of Wonojati Village, namely Termitomyces, Auricularia, and Volvariella. Found 6 species of mushrooms belonging to the genus Termitomyces. Each mushroom has a different morphological characteristics that predicted different species but still into one genus. Termitomyces character is the growing medium in the form of termite nests that is below the ground surface. Another group of mushrooms are Auricularia and Volvariella. Auricularia has a character that resembles the shape of the ear. Volvariella has a volva characters. From some wild mushrooms were found to have been cultivated for consumption by the public is Auricularia and Volvariella. Termitomyces is still not cultivated mushrooms so there are opportunities to be cultivated as a food diversification efforts.Keywords : inventory, wild mushrooms, characterization

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of concept maps as learning strategy and as an evaluation tools to assess students’ mastery of concepts. The sample in this study was students of grade IX in one of Junior High School in Bandung by using Pretest-Posttest Randomized Control Group Design. The subject learned was excretory system. In experimental group, the students were taught by using concept map strategy, whereas the students in control group were taught by using elaboration strategy that is taking notes. The method used in both classes were lecture and discussion. The effectiveness of concept map as a learning strategy was measured by using N-Gain value. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of concept map as an evaluation tool to assess students’ concepts mastery was seen from the relationship between students’ score in multiple-choice evaluation and the score of concept map evaluation based on class clasification from multiple choice score: upper class, middle class, and lower class. The result shows that the N-Gain in experimental group (0,73) is greater than N-Gain in control group (0,62). The effectiveness of concept maps as an evaluation tool is quite effective because otherwise the results showed that students' grades multiple-choice acquisition value is directly proportional to students in making a concept map. It can be conclude that concept maps can be used as a learning strategy as well as an evaluation tool. Keywords: concept map, learning strategy, evaluation tools, concept mastery, excretory system

Abstract

Abstract- Tofu rice bran is one form of diversification tofu when not socialized . Tofu as a source of vegetable protein so the impact  of  tofu as a food product that can not be stored longer that required the use of a natural preservative solution that is safe and without any residue . Deacetylation of chitin chitosan as a result polycationic nature so as to reduce the rate of growth of pathogenic bacteria . Potential of Lactic Acid Bacteria ( LAB ) as a producer of lactic acid is expected to act as a natural biocoagulant . The purpose of the study was to determine the potential of chitosan as a natural preservative and potential of LAB as natural biocoagulant  in the manufacturing process tofu  rice bran. The research method are three stages: the first stage includes : BAL isolation and cultivation of industrial products fementasi yoghurt ; the second stage includes the study of the amount of inoculum BAL ( 5 % , 10 % , 20 % ) as biocoagulant ; study the concentration of chitosan ( 0.5 % , 1 % , 2 % ) as a natural preservative and the mixtures of rice bran and soy whey ( ratio 1 : 1 , 2 : 1 , 3 : 2 ) in the process of making tofu rice bran ; The third stage involves analysis of  product tofu rice bran for fat content , protein content , fiber content and microbial contamination include MPN Coliform , Salmonella and organoleptic Hedonic test the level of preference ( color , smell , consistency , flavor ) by panelists . The results showed that tofu rice bran with 10 %  inoculum biocoagulant , concentration of chitosan 2 % as a preservative and ratio of rice bran and whey ( 2:1 ) showed  the most excellent organoleptic . Keywords : Lactic Acid Bacteria ( LAB ) , biocoagulan t, chitosan , natural preservative , tofu rice bran

Abstract

This paper presents the results of the development of understanding physics concepts test instruments and test the ability to analyze the physics teacher and vocational development of instruments that will be used in a web-assisted physics training (e-training) for vocational school physics teacher. The method used is a theoretical study, expert validation, and testing and analysis of the grain problem understanding the concept and the ability to analyze. The results are described in the narrative. The results obtained indicate that the steps in developing the instrument are: conduct training needs analysis, structuring and guide training programs, developing web-based teaching materials and teacher worksheets (LKG), develop the grain problem understanding the concept and the ability to analyze, develop observation, interview guides, questionnaires and training implementation. Once reviewed by an expert, test instruments further tested in the field in order to obtain points which meet the requirements. Tests performed on 25 SMK physics teachers in Bandung city, Cimahi and Bandung regency. Based on the results of the expert validation and test of 31 items was understanding the concept (PK) obtained 25 test items are fit for use.
