Abstract

Telah dialakukan penelitian mengenai potensi tanaman air Echinodorus palaefolius, Pontederia lanceolata dan Zantedeschia aethiopica sebagai agen fitoremediasi limbah domestic. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan potensi dari ketiga tanaman tersebut dalam proses fitoremediasi limbah rumah tangga.  Untuk melihat potensi yang ada pada tanaman air tersebut, limbah domestik cair dari kolam inlet IPAL PDAM Bojong Soang dialirkan pada masing-masing media tanam. Tanaman  penelitian dipelihara selama 28 hari dan dilakukan pengujian dengan interval 14 hari. Parameter yang diujikan adalah pH, Total N, Total P dan Total Coliform. Kemudian sebagai data tambahan dilakukan pengamatan morfologi tanaman serta biomassa kering. Dilakukan perbandingan antara data hasil pengukuran tiap parameter sebelum dan sesudah proses perlakuan. Hasil analisis data tersebut menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan potensi yang signifikan pada semua tanaman uji. Sebagai pendukung dilakukan pengamatan kualitatif terhadap morfologi tanaman uji. Dari hasil pengamatan tersebut tanaman yang memiliki resistensi paling tinggi terhadap limbah domestik adalah Echinodorus palaefolius. Pada penelitian lanjutan dianjurkan untuk memperpendek interval pengamatan, menghitung akumulasi N dan P pada organ tanaman serta melakukan pengukuran kuantitatif terhadap panjang batang, lebar daun, dan diameter rumpun tanaman agen fitoremediasi.  Kata kunci : fitoremediasi, limbah domestik cair, tanaman air

Abstract

An Experiment on the effect of different nitrogen source in Murashige and Skoog media (MS, 1962) on senesionin production of compact globular structure of Crotalaria anagyroides has been performed. CGS culture was obtained from callus culture on liquid MS media with 5.10-5 M NAA and 10-6 M kinetin. The CGS was transfered into media with different nitrogen source: MS A (amonium+nitrat), MS B (nitrat) and MS C (amonium). Qualitatif data showed that senesionin could be detected in the CGS exstract by appearence of spot (Rf=0,78). The quantitative data showed that MS C was the best media to produce 4623 g/DW senesionin on 30th day.Key Word : Crotalaria angyroides, Nitrogen Source, Senesionin, Senesionin Production.

Abstract

One of Freshwater Biology course problems is that the students were unable to understand the environmental phenomena around them. The aim of this study was to develop issue-based teaching materials in Freshwater Biology course to improve the students’ understanding about the environmental phenomena through their learning outcomes. This research and development used three phases of the 4D model developed by Thiagarajan, namely define, design, and development. The development results were validated by content and media experts. The design used for pilot test, which was conducted among 20 students, was one group pretest-posttest design; meanwhile the data analysis technique used was independent t-test. It can be concluded that the teaching materials developed was valid with the average validation score as high as 79.83%. In addition, there was significant improvement (sig. 0.000) of student learning outcomes after attending the course which implementing the issue-based teaching materials developed. Thus, the implementation of issue-based teaching materials is recommended in Freshwater Biology course due to its potential in improving students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study investigated the use of science comics in improving students’ cognitive ability and learning styles on the concept of environmental pollution. First we develop science comics by using 4D model, then we evaluate students’ cognitive ability and learning styles after the developed science comics were implemented. Samples were seventh grade students in one of public schools in Bandung. Research instruments were multiple choice and essay test and questioner. Results suggested that the use of science comics increase students’ cognitive ability in all students’ class with average N-Gain of 0.6. In terms of learning style, students tend to be visual learners.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reduction of students' misconceptions on food digestive system material through simple practicum-based learning. Simple practicum that is carried out includes test of vitamin C content by titration of iodine and formalin test with turmeric. Simple practicum means using simple tools and materials that are easy to find and the operation is also easy. This research was conducted on high school class XI students in Bandung City as much as one class. The research method used was a weak experimental method. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling. Decrease in student misconceptions in terms of the results of the pretest and posttest. After learning, a questionnaire is given to find out students' responses to simple practicum-based learning. The results of the study showed that simple practicum food test was able to reduce student misconceptions, with an average reduction in misconceptions by 72%. Students' misconceptions are seen based on the analysis of conceptual changes. Conceptual change type Pattern I is a change towards positive (understanding the concept) showing the highest percentage of 68%. The highest decrease in misconceptions was found in the concept of food substances, while the lowest decrease in misconception was found in the concept of structural and bioprocess relationships.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of concept maps as learning strategy and as an evaluation tools to assess students’ mastery of concepts. The sample in this study was students of grade IX in one of Junior High School in Bandung by using Pretest-Posttest Randomized Control Group Design. The subject learned was excretory system. In experimental group, the students were taught by using concept map strategy, whereas the students in control group were taught by using elaboration strategy that is taking notes. The method used in both classes were lecture and discussion. The effectiveness of concept map as a learning strategy was measured by using N-Gain value. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of concept map as an evaluation tool to assess students’ concepts mastery was seen from the relationship between students’ score in multiple-choice evaluation and the score of concept map evaluation based on class clasification from multiple choice score: upper class, middle class, and lower class. The result shows that the N-Gain in experimental group (0,73) is greater than N-Gain in control group (0,62). The effectiveness of concept maps as an evaluation tool is quite effective because otherwise the results showed that students' grades multiple-choice acquisition value is directly proportional to students in making a concept map. It can be conclude that concept maps can be used as a learning strategy as well as an evaluation tool. Keywords: concept map, learning strategy, evaluation tools, concept mastery, excretory system

Abstract

Kangkung darat (Ipomoea reptans. Poir) termasuk  ke dalam tanaman hortikultura yang mudah dibudidayakan. Namun, kangkung perlu diberi asupan nutrisi yang cukup dengan pupuk yang tepat untuk memperoleh pertumbuhan dan hasil yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pengaruh perbedaan asimilasi zat nitrogen pupuk organik dan pupuk non organik (ZA) erhadap pertumbuhan dan gangguan fisiologi pada tanaman kangkung darat (Ipomoea reptans. Poir). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Bandung Raya selama dua pekan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan pendekatan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pengaruh perbedaan komposisi pupuk ZA (Z0=0 gram, Z1=0,25 gram, Z2=0,5 gram, Z3=0,75 gram) dan komposisi pupuk organik (O0=0 mL, O1= 55,25 mL, O2= 110,5 mL, O3=165,75 mL) terhadap tinggi tanaman dan panjang daun dari hari pertama sampai hari ketujuh. Selain itu juga diamati kemunculan gangguan fisiologi seperti kelayuan, klorosis dan nekrosis. Pengelolaan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji One-way Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman kangkung yang diberi pupuk non organik (ZA) mengalami rata-rata pertumbuhan lebih tinggi 5,7 cm dibandingkan yang diberi pupuk organik serta terdapat beberapa gangguan fisiologis pada tanaman kangkung yang diberi perlakuan pupuk organik berupa nekrosis dan klorosis.

Abstract

Kedelai merupakan salah satu komoditas yang memiliki nilai konsumsi tinggi di Indonesia, tetapi memiliki nilai produktivitas yang rendah. Beberapa bulan lalu, disinyalir sempat terjadi kenaikan harga kedelai impor yang berdampak pada terjadinya fluktuasi harga kedelai di domestik dan hasil produk olahannya seperti tahu dan tempe. Maka, perlu solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, salah satunya adalah dengan dilakukannya percobaan yang diprediksi dapat meningkatkan daya tumbuh tanaman kacang kedelai yaitu dengan pemberian tambahan nutrisi yang terdapat pada air cucian beras merah dan putih. Air cucian beras merupakan salah satu limbah yang tidak memiliki nilai ekonomis dan seringkali dibuang tanpa dimanfaatkan kembali. Dalam rangka untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kedelai di Indonesia sekaligus dalam rangka memanfaatkan limbah air cucian beras, penelitian mengenai pengaruh pemberian air cucian beras terhadap laju imbibisi serta perkecambahan biji kedelai ini pun dilakukan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan membuat air cucian beras putih dan beras merah dalam konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%. Perendaman dan perhitungan berat biji kedelai dilakukan pada interval waktu 2, 4, 8, 16, dan 24 jam untuk menelusuri pengaruh dari air cucian beras terhadap laju imbibisi dan membandingkan antara pengaruh larutan cucian beras putih, beras merah, dan juga kontrol terhadap perkecambahan sebagai output keberhasilan imbibisi. Setelah diuji secara statistik ternyata tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara berbagai konsentrasi air cucian beras putih dan beras merah terhadap laju imbibisi. Adapun untuk perkecambahan, kontrol diketahui memiliki rata-rata jumlah biji yang berkecambah lebih banyak dibanding perlakuan lainnya dan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kontrol dengan perlakuan-perlakuan lainnya.

Abstract

The allelopathic substances are organic agents which are produced and released by a plant that cause alteration on the neighboring plants. The characteristics of allelochemicals usually inhibit germination of other species and sometime will reduce growth of the other species which associate with the producer of allelochemicals. The mechanism of allelochemicals can be used to suppress a germination of Echinochloa colonum L. and Amaranthus viridis L. These plants are weeds species of rice. The aims of this research were to study the allelochemicals effect from the leaf of pines (Pinus merkusii Jungh. et de Vriese) on germination of Echinochloa colonum L. and Amaranthus viridis L.. The experimental design used Completely Randomized Design with five replicates for each concentration (0, 250, 500, 750, 1000 ppm). The result which was analyzed with One-Way Analyze of Varians (ANOVA) indicated that giving a pine leaf extracts had an inhibitor effect on germination of E. colonum L. and A. viridis L.
