Abstract

A teaching profession is a form of human service profession that is full of challenges (Maslach & Jackson, 1986). Greenbreg & Baron (1995) stated that high job demands can lead to burnout. Pines and Aronson (1989) define burnout as physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by long-term involvement in emotionally demanding situations. Burnout itself occurs because of three dimensions, namely emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and decreased personal achievement so that high pressure at work can affect the three dimensions of Burnout. Sullivan (1989) explains that one of the factors that can affect burnout is motivation. Therefore, it is important for teachers to develop motivation in order to overcome the burnout problem they face, and one way to develop motivation is with Achievement Motivation Training (AMT). Achievement Motivation Training (AMT) is a training activity to increase the need for achievement in a person. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Achievement Motivation Training (AMT) in reducing burnout with the hypothesis that Achievement Motivation Training (AMT) had an effect on reducing burnout. The sample of this study was 20 teachers at SMAI Miftahul Ulum Jatiurip Krejengan Probolinggo with details of 10 male teachers and 10 female teachers. Sampling in this study used a purposive technique, namely selecting samples according to the desired or with certain characteristics (Latipun, 2002). The method used to analyze the data in this research is a t-test. The t-test used is the Mann-Whitney test. Based on the hypothesis test from the analysis results obtained a significance value of 0.000. This means that there is an effect of Achievement Motivation Training (AMT) in reducing burnout. The results of the analysis also obtained the Mean Rank burnout of male and female teachers at the pretest time = 29.33 with the posttest value = 11.68. Based on this value, it can be concluded that giving an intervention using Achievement Motivation Training can reduce Burnout. From these results, it can be concluded that the provision of Achievement Motivation Training (AMT) can reduce burnout experienced by teachers at SMAI Miftahul Ulum Jatiurip Krejengan Probolinggo.

Abstract

Refractive disorder is the most common cause of visual impairment in the world, and one of them is myopia. Myopia is a condition of the eye failing to focus light from an object causes it to focus in front of the retina. The elongation of the axis of the eyeball and the high refractive power of the cornea and lens might be the cause of myopia. Myopic patients often complain of blurred vision when looking at a far objects. There are several risk factors of myopia, including genetics, gender, age and environment. This article is literature review. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview related to refractive disorders, especially myopia. The management of myopia patients can be divided into 2, including optical therapy and pharmacological therapy. Optical therapy includes the smallest negative spherical glasses that provide maximum visual acuity, contact lenses, and orthokeratology. Management of myopic patients aims to reduce progression and complications by providing optical therapy in the form of spherical glasses, contact lenses, and orthokeratology

Abstract

Dry eye is one of the most common complications following laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK), with nearly all patients experiencing some degree of postoperative dry eye symptoms. Postoperative dry eye affects approximately 50% of patients at 1 week postoperatively, 40% at 1 month, and 20%-40% at 6 months postoperatively. LASIK can cause intracorneal nerve damage, goblet cell damage caused by suction, and can cause changes in the shape of the central cornea. Dry eye diagnosis can be made using a questionnaire to determine the patient's history, examination of tear break up time, staining of the eye surface using fluorescein or lissamine green, and Schirmer's test. This reserech use Literatur Review Method. Post-LASIK dry eye complaints such as irritation, red eyes, foreign body sensation, pain, gritty, and photophobia. Management of post-LASIK dry eyes can be done by giving tear supplements, anti-inflammatory agents, ointments and eye patches, and treatment of meibomian gland dysfunction. Post-LASIK dry eye usually peaks within a few months after surgery, and then improves in most patients 6-12 months after surgery. Although dry eye signs and symptoms are most common in the immediate postoperative period and are usually only temporary, a minority of individuals experience chronic and severe dry eye

Abstract

Hemoglobinopathy is an autosomal recessive disorder that is classified into 2 major groups, namely thalassemia syndromes and structural variants of the hemoglobin chain. Thalassemia is a group of genetic disorders caused by decreased speed of chain synthesis or. The second group, structural abnormalities in the hemoglobin chain, often causes a condition called sickle cell (sickle cell anemia), this structural abnormality occurs due to the substitution of adenine by thymine which causes the conversion of the amino acid glutamate to valine. 7% of the world's population are carriers of hemoglobinopathies. This type of research is literature research or literature review. Based on data from the Indonesian Thalassemia Foundation (YTI) in 2008-2017, 5.8% of thalassemia carriers were found from 12,038 people examined, and 28.62% of 4,137 people according to the results of family screening. thalassemia in 2009-2017. The prognosis of thalassemia disease depends on medication adherence and the type of thalassemia suffered. Death in patients with sickle cell anemia is usually due to co-morbidities such as renal and other organ failure. Early and adequate symptom management can improve the prognosis. This disorder is autosomal recessive which is classified into 2 major groups, namely thalassemia syndrome and structural variants of hemoglobin chains that often produce sickle cell shape

Abstract

Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SSJ) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are acute, rare, and potentially fatal type IV (Subtype C) skin hypersensitivity reactions that cause skin loss and in some cases may result in loss of mucous membranes followed by systemic symptoms. In general, the incidence of SJS is 1-6 cases/million population/year, and the incidence of NET is 0.4-1.2 cases/million population/year. SJS and TEN are considered to be on the same disease spectrum with different degrees of severity. The exact cause of SJS is currently unknown, but several things have been found that can trigger SJS, such as drugs or viral infections. A collection of symptoms (syndromes) in SJS and TEN in the form of abnormalities characterized by erythema, vesicles, bullae, purpura on the skin at the mouth of the body cavity which has mucous membranes and eyelid mucosa. The success of SJS treatment is largely determined by early recognition of symptoms, stopping or overcoming the causative factors, and providing adequate supportive therapy. A literature review discusses and analyses published information in a particular subject area.   Sometimes the information covers a certain time period. Syndrome Stevens-Johnson (SSJ) and nekrolisis epidermal necrolysis (NET) is a hypersensitivity reaction type IV (subtype C) skin that is acute, rare, and potentially fatal cause loss of skin and in some cases can result in its loss of mucous membranes followed by systemic symptoms

Abstract

Depression is a global problem whose symptoms are easier to observe than cure. With a fairly high prevalence in Indonesia, which is up to 6.1% in 2018, this problem practically does not only affect the sufferer but also has an impact on the people around him which in turn will further reduce the quality of life of the sufferer. Lombok Island has a local food called poteng which is the result of fermented sticky rice. Poteng is able to act as a probiotic because it contains Lactobacillus plantarum. Probiotics can play a role in helping people with depression with the Gut Brain Axis mechanism by reducing Interleukin-6, increasing gamma-Aminobutyric Acid, and influencing Vitamin D and its receptors. In a depressed state, Interleukin-6 was observed to increase whereas GABA was observed to decrease. The Gut Brain Axis mechanism affects depression through neuroanatomical pathways, regulation of microbial metabolites (Short-Chain Fatty Acid), Tryptophan metabolism, and Immune Regulation.
