Abstract

Hydraulic system is one of the systems on the heavy equipment unit which is very important for students to understand. The problem that exists in the heavy equipment engineering laboratory at this time is that there is no hydraulic pump test equipment to determine whether the pump that has been repaired is in standard condition or not. To overcome the problems and to support the lecture process, the hydraulic pump test equipment was made. as a tool for testing the feasibility and specifications of the gear type pump. After all the design processes and assembling the required tools, a series of tests will be carried out. The form of tool testing is carried out in the form of pump flow liters per minute, pump pressure in various RPM variations. From the test results, it was found that at RPM 900 the pressure was 100 Psi Flow reading 11 and Flow rate 209, at RPM 1100 pressure 12 Psi Flow reading 15 and Flow Rate 285, At 1372 Pressure 14 Psi Flow reading 19 and flow rate 361, RPM 1500 Pressure 16 Psi Flow reading 19 and Flow rate 437

Abstract

This research was conducted to plan the best location as a place for the establishment of factories that produce gears to meet the demand for gears in the East Kalimantan area. After the best location is obtained, determine the most optimal production capacity, taking into account all existing limitations including estimation of damaged products later in the production process. And finally, determine the number and type of machines needed to produce these gears. The analytical tool in this research is the Brown Gibson Method to determine the best factory location, quantitative and qualitative analysis so that the results obtained are closer to reality. The results obtained are for the best location for the establishment of a gear factory in Loa Buah Samarinda. Obtained the results of three types of machinery needed to produce gears are 5 units of lathe as the first stage process, the milling machine as the second stage process with a total of 11 units, and finally processed in a drill machine with 7 units of drilling machines needed . The production capacity is 442 products resulting from the first stage process with 13 products damaged, then 429 products are produced from the second stage process with 20 products damaged, and as many as 409 products produced from the last process in the form of gears with 9 broken gear products.

Abstract

Stator Generator is a stator that uses a generator consisting of a coil and a magnet that emits an alternating voltage so that it can rotate the flywheel, the stator generator is a product of the development of the Stator Motor whose production demand is always increasing. The Stator Generator consists of Flywheel Assy and Stator Comp. In the Manufacture Stator Comp process, the longest production process is wire cutting. This research started from finding the problem of long production time. In the process of cutting wire, it is still done manually using cutting pliers by the production operator. To meet daily production needs, this wire cutting process requires two employees to carry out the production process with an ever-increasing target. From these problems, a wire cutting machine based on Automatic Wire Cutting was developed in order to get maximum and efficient production results. Calculations in material selection and cutter angle are also considered so that the results of the wire cutting process are stable and produce good cuts.

Abstract

Design and manufacture of this simulator aims to explain how the movement of the differential components. The components of this differential simulation consist of a differential case, pinion gear or spider gear, side gear, spider shaft, electric motor, pulley, v-belt and dimmer (motor speed controller). The method used in making this simulator is to start by first making a simulator design and then continuing with the collection of tools and materials needed. From testing the components of the simulator tool which was carried out for 50 minutes, it was found that every 10 minutes the temperature increased due to the lubrication system that was not maximized. Tests to determine the correlation between the dimmer and the RPM of the electric motor, it was found that any decrease in the resistance value will result in an increase in the RPM value of the electric motor. These results also show that the maximum value of the motor RPM after being assembled is 1435 RPM. Then the test when given a load found that the shaft axle rotation speed of the differential will change if there is a load on one side. From this test, it can be seen that there is an increase in the RPM value on the side of the shaft axle which rotates freely when the other shaft is given a load. With this simulator, it can also provide an overview of how the movement of the differential gears contained in the axle of a unit vehicle so that you can understand how it works

Abstract

Cooling system has an important role in motor vehicles, because its function is to maintain the working temperature of the engine, so that the temperature does not exceed the threshold (over heating), due to the frequent causes of excessive heat due to the use of cooling water in the radiator. The research method used is an experimental method, where the aim is to determine the effect of coolant on engine temperature from the use of several types of coolant additives. The cooling water used is coolant 30/70 pre-mixed and coolant predilute 33%. This test is carried out at rounds of [600, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000] RPM. The object of this research is the Toyota Avanza Type E 1300 CC M/T. From the results of research on engine temperature data with the use of coolant 30/70 Pre-mixed at various variations of engine speed obtained an average temperature of 94.13 OC. While the use of coolant predilute 33%, the average temperature in testing reaches 94.4 OC. Based on the description of the results of the test data that has been done, it was concluded that the use of coolant 30/70 pre-mixed and coolant predilute 33% has the same effect on the temperature of the Toyota Avanza Type-E 1300 CC M/T engine.

Abstract

Electrical energy is one of the most important daily needs for humans. Electricity is used to power tools that are used daily, such as turning on the lights, TV, refrigerator, and others. Electrical energy can be generated easily, there are already many power plants that can create electricity from new and renewable energy such as solar power plants (PLTS) and wind power plants (PLTB). The two generators can be combined to form a new system, namely the Hybrid system. In this study design a hybrid system of solar thermal energy and wind energy. The system formed uses a power storage system that is with a battery. Then the energy from the battery can provide energy to the load. The average power generated from the PLTS design is 0.474 Watt and the average wind generator is 9.378 Watt. Then the average hybrid system produces a power of 0.551 Watt.

Abstract

The hydraulic oil filter is one of the components contained in the hydraulic system which functions to filter the impurities contained in the oil so that it does not circulate into the system. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the original and non-original filters in relation to the damage that occurred to the control valve. The results indicated that the damage to the spool valve was caused by hydraulic oil contaminated with water, resulting in corrosion on its surface. Visual inspection of the hydraulic oil filter reveals particles found in the filer element.

Abstract

Air is the successor to the Caterpillar 777D Highway Truck Air System. Air is used to supply the braking system on the Caterpillar 777D Highway Truck which is then collaborated with a hydraulic system for the technical braking process. For this reason, the authors analyze the components of the 777D Caterpillar Highway Truck Air System and what damage often occurs and how to repair it. In this case the object examined is the water system component of the Caterpillar 777D Highway Truck. The method used in this research is field observation, literature study, conducting, inspection with several units that improve the schedule and scheduled repairs. According to the appropriate literature, component damage that occurs in air systems is damage to the system and wear and tear on components. The study was conducted by conducting a visual inspection and measurement, then an analysis of the assessment of the appropriate data literature was carried out. The results found damage to the maintenance component that is not really a component relay valve and air dryer on the air filling system.

Abstract

Crash box is one of the passive safety components in vehicles, especially cars that are designed to reduce the occurrence of injuries to drivers and passengers due to collisions. This study aims to determine the energy absorption of the crash box with a multi-segment circular cross section. The research method used is quasi-experimental, namely by computer simulation using Finite Element Method-based software. The independent variable in this study is the location of the segment connection, including: 1/4, 1/3, and 1/2 of the total length of the crash box. While the dependent variables that are sought include: energy absorption, force reaction, and deformation patterns that occur in the crash box. The crash box will be hit by an impactor with a mass of 103 kg and a speed of 7.67 m/s. From the simulation results, the maximum energy absorption and force reaction values are found in the crash box at connection 1/2 of 1689.7 J and 67718 N, followed by connection 1/3 with values of 1221.2 J and 56127 N, and the last is at 1/4 connection is 1119.8 J and 55443 N. Judging from the deformation pattern, the connection at 1/4 and 1/3 is buckling so that the energy absorption is lower than the crash box at the 1/2 connection. It is concluded that the most optimal design of the crash box with a multi-segment circular cross section is the model at the 1/2 connection because it has the highest energy absorption value of the other 2 models and the deformation tends to be more stable.

Abstract

The alternator plays an important role in supplying the battery, lighting accessories and turning on the unit at the time of starting, therefore it needs more attention to it. Damage can occur at any time, and finding the problem with it presents its own challenges. Equipment such as a multimeter/avometer is needed to analyze the damage. Visual inspection, testing, and measurement are steps that must be taken to be able to find damage that occurs in the alternator. The charging system can be disrupted if there is an operational problem with the alternator component. This can be identified through an examination of the damage that occurred. Maintenance/maintenance on the components of the charging system must be carried out periodically so that the electricity supply remains optimal.
