Abstract

The demands of students in the 21st century are one of them being able to communicate effectively. In order to achieve these demands students must have scientific literacy skills. The ADI model is designed to help students understand how to make scientific explanations, generalize scientific facts, use data to answer scientific questions and reflect on the work they have done. The ADI model syntax can facilitate scientific literacy skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the ADI model based on blended learning on the scientific literacy abilities of SMA Negeri 1 Kuningan students and to determine student responses to the ADI model and blended learning. This study was designed using the Pretest – Posttest Control Group design. The population of this study were all students of class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 1 Kuningan for the 2020/2021 academic year. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data collection with description tests, questionnaires and documentation. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the application of the ADI model using the t test obtained 2.61 1.98 meaning that the application of the Blended Learning-based Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI) learning model could affect students' scientific literacy skills on the concept of the Dangers of Cigarettes in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Kuningan supported by questionnaire data shows a response agreeing that students' scientific literacy skills can be facilitated by applying the ADI model based on Blended Learning.

Abstract

Pathogenic bacteria can cause disease problems such as diarrhea, vomiting, typhus, gastrointestinal infections, and other diseases. Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus are the smallest types of pathogenic bacteria in the world. Efforts to overcome the presence of bacteria required antibacterial. This study aims to determine the antibacterialpotential of methanol extract of giblets and meat of sea cucumber balls (Phyllophorus sp.) againstbacteria called Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus through the inhibition zones formed and to determine differences in the effect of the inhibition zones between offal extracts and sea cucumber meat (Phyllophorus sp.). The results of this antibacterial potential showed a clear zone of inhibition around the disc paper. The inhibition zones of offal extract and sea cucumber meat (Phyllophorus sp.) were observed at 1x24 hours and 2x24 hours. Based on measurements using a vernier caliper on extracts of sea cucumber offal and meat (Phyllophorus sp.) obtained a value below 5 mm, it was stated that the resulting inhibition zone was classified as weak. Based on the results of the SPSS 16 one-way ANOVA test, there was no difference in the clear zone, because the test results showed P 0.05, so there was no significant difference.

Abstract

This research aimed to measure the student’s critical Thinking Skills in Biology class. Quasi-Experiment was used in this research by using Pre test - Post test control group design. The sampling method was carried out by using random sampling model i.e., by voting. The sample obtained was XII IPA 3 as the first class which was taught by problem solving model. Then the second was XII IPA 2 class which was taught using conventional model . The instrument used in this research was multiple choice which is used to measure the student’s critical thinking skill. The normality test of problem solving model was 0,087, 0,058 was gained from the control class which means that these value are greater than 0,05, thus the data is normally distributed. The independent samples t-test showed that the value of significance is 0.020 0.05, so it can be concluded that the hypothesis Ha is accepted.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of the composition of mixed briquettes (teak leaves and corncob charcoal) on the characteristics of smoked fish. The characteristics of the smoked fish analyzed were organoleptic. The method used in this research is experimental method. The independent variables of this study were the composition of mixed briquettes (teak leaves and corncob charcoal) with a ratio of 1:1 (Briquette A); 1:2 (Briquette B) ; 2:1 (C Briquettes). The dependent variable is the fish to be smoked. The experimental research procedure is divided into three stages, namely the preparation stage, the quality testing stage and the data analysis stage. The preparation stage includes the manufacture of fuel briquettes and the preparation of firewood and smoked fish material to be tested. The quality of smoked fish tested sensory/organoleptic includes appearance, color, aroma, taste, and texture. The results of data analysis showed that there was no significant difference in the treatment of smoked fish from the three briquettes in appearance and color, taste and texture. The significant difference is in the aroma produced by the smoked fish from the three briquettes. Fish smoked with briquette B has a more fragrant aroma than fish smoked with briquettes A and C.

Abstract

Waste that can be utilized into a product that has economic value. By utilizing rice washing waste water and dragon fruit skin waste, it can be used as a fermented food product called Nata de leri. This study aims to determine the effect of adding various types of sugar and dragon fruit peel extract on the quality of Nata de leri. The method of this study was a randomized factorial block design (RAKF) which consisted of two treatment factors, namely various types of sugar, namely granulated sugar, palm sugar and artificial sweeteners, then the second treatment factor was the addition of dragon fruit peel extract with three levels (15%, 25% and 50). %). The results of the study were analyzed using the thickness test, then continued Duncan's test and obtained a different notation which meant that it was significantly different from the Friedman test. In the Friedman test the texture quality and taste quality did not have a significant effect, while the color quality had a significant effect because Fcount more than Ftable until H1 acceptable. The best quality obtained was the Nata de leri treatment with the addition of granulated sugar and 50% dragon fruit peel extract (A2B3) with the highest average organoleptic test results. So that it can be used as a recommendation for processed products that have economic value.

Abstract

Learning resources are the most important component in improving the quality of student learning outcomes.  In the learning process, teachers rarely use magazines as a learning resource, so concepts are difficult for students to understand. Magazines are a learning resource that is used tofoster students' interest in lessons and help their understanding of complex and clear material. The purpose of this study is to develop  a valid biology learning magazine based on the exploration of medicinal plants of Kalibaru Kulon Village, Kalibaru District, Banyuwangi Regency. The method in this study is the development method (Research and Development) using the ADDIE model. The resulting product will be validated by validators to determine the level of validity of the magazine developed. The results of developing the magazine's learning resources meet the average criterion of 90% which states that the biology learning magazine meets the criteria of "Very Decent, Does Not Need to Be Revised".

Abstract

Socioscientific issues in the field of social sciences and science are issues that describe social problems in society and are related to conceptual, procedural, or scientific technological contexts. The purpose of this research is to describe how socioscientific issues are used in science learning. This review is a systematic literature review method. A systematic literature review is a method for evaluating, defining, and interpreting all results related to a research problem in response to specific questions. This literature review was conducted to obtain the publication of scientific articles in 2018-2023 that discuss socioscientific issues in science learning. Based on research results using socioscientific issues in science learning can increase scientific literacy and student learning activities so that they can trigger student discussion and argumentation which in turn increases critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The primary goal of the curriculum is to help students develop into individuals with high reasoning power and critical thinking abilities that are up to date demands during the learning process. However, students' critical thinking abilities are actually below average. The study's objective was to investigate how students' critical thinking abilities were affected by the PBL model and TikTok media. Pretest and posttest group designs were used in the quasi-experimental research design. For the 2022/23 school year, all class X students at SMAN 1 Garawangi serve as the research population. Using the purposive sampling method, samples were taken. Through questionnaires and essay tests, gather research data. then processed using methods of quantitative data analysis. The most noteworthy sign of decisive reasoning abilities is deciding an activity because of the utilization of TikTok media in the PBL model. so that students can figure out how to solve the poorly structured problems and better understand them. The hypothesis test with the t test yielded results of 3.98 1.99, indicating that the PBL model and TikTok media have a significant impact on students' critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Lake Perintis is a strategic lake as a tourist spot that has unspoiled environmental conditions that have the potential to find various types of macroscopic fungi, especially Basidiomycota fungi. Macroscopic fungi are a group of cellulose degrading fungi which have a very important role for the environment. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with field sampling using an exploratory survey method. This method aims to make direct observations in all research locations in order to obtain more in-depth data. This study aims to determine the diversity of types of Basidiomycota fungi found in Lake Perintis. By using the field note form to identify the fungi in the Perintis lake location. The results showed that Lake Perintis has a type of Basidiomycota fungi consisting of 2 class, 5 ordo, 10 family, 18 genus and 21 species.

Abstract

Study about the analysis of sugar content in popular drinks around UIN Jakarta has been carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the sugar content of glucose and sucrose in popular drinks. This type of research is quantitative research. The method used is descriptive analysis. The number of samples taken was 10 consisting of Thai tea drinks, boba milk, sweet iced tea taken from sellers around UIN Jakarta. The results showed that the sugar content of glucose was between 5-66,5 grams, while the results of the sucrose test contained between 1-26 grams and the total sugar content of contemporary drinks was between 23-70 grams. The results showed that there were 2 samples of contemporary drinks that exceeded the recommended intake of 50 grams of sugar per day according to Minister of Health Regulation No. 30 year 2013.
