Abstract

One of the social problems that is still controversial is smoking. This is closely related to public health, because smokers have a great risk of spreading disease either directly to smokers themselves or indirectly to other people who do not smoke but are in the same environment or population as smokers, such as cancer, heart disease. , caries, and others caused by the substance content of the smoked cigarettes. The more smokers in a population, the greater the chance of increasing the number of smokers in that population, which directly or indirectly means increasing the spread of the diseases that have been mentioned. The purpose of this research is to construct a mathematical model and simulate the distribution of smokers in a certain population using Matlab. The variables that make up the Mathematical model are divided into 3 classes, namely prospective smokers (), regular smokers (), and ex-smokers (). The method used in this research is the method of literature study and literature related to research and simulation using Matlab. At the end of the study, the value of the basic reproduction number () will be analyzed to determine the dynamics that occur in the population and the simulation results of the mathematical model formed. The results of this study are a depiction of how much influence the presence of smokers has in a population by looking at the parameters that affect changes in the value significantly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of inflation and exchange rates on ASEAN countries' gross domestic product (GDP). The data used is secondary data accessed through the world bank from 2019 to 2021, which consists of 30 data. The independent variables used in this data are exchange rates and inflation, while the dependent variable used is gross domestic product (GDP). The panel data regression used in this study includes the common effect model, the fixed effect model and the random effect model. Based on the Chow and Hausman tests conducted, the best model in this study was the random effect model (REM). The best equation in this research is given by the equation . his study uses robustness because the normality test on the classical assumption is not fulfilled. Based on the test results, the USD exchange rate and inflation variables have a significant effect on the GDP variable. While the inflation variable has no significant effect on the GDP variable.

Abstract

This study aims to compare analytical methods and numerical methods in determining the roots of equations of a complex function. The numerical method used in this research is the Newton Raphson method. In this study two examples of complex functions were given, after which the roots of the equation were searched using the analytical method and the Newton Raphson method, then the results were compared. In this study, two examples are given, namely and . In example one, three different roots were obtained analytically, while numerical calculations using the Newton Raphson method obtained a value that converged to one of the roots that had been obtained analytically. In example two, four different roots were obtained analytically, while numerically using the Newton Raphson method similarly if done using the Newton Raphson method, a value that converged to one of the roots that had been obtained analytically was obtained.

Abstract

Andaliman fruit is a typical food source for the Batak tribe and is usually used as a cooking spice under the name "Batak pepper". The fruit used as a spice in cooking is young fruit. This study aims to determine the effect of seed selection by injury on andaliman seed germination, determine the effect of concentration and duration of soaking seeds in coconut water on andaliman seed germination. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (RALF) with two factors. The fisrt factor is the concentration of coconut water 0%, 50%, 100%. The second factor is the length of immersion time of 12 hours and 24 hours. Parameters observed were germination percentage, vigor index, seed germination time. The results of this study showed that seed selection by wounding and soaking coconut water could not break the dormancy of andaliman seeds. No seeds germinated until 45 DAP. Seed conditions at 45 DAP were 76-88% whole seeds, 4-16% slimy seeds and 4-16% moldy seeds

Abstract

This study uses big data, namely the socio-economic 2019 data. The focus of this research is Education. Education is an important factor in life, but in West Sumatra using the socio-economic 2019 data it is still in the low category and far from the national average. In this study will predict the factors that influence education in West Sumatra with the data classification method. Methods for classifying large amounts of data have been developed, including Machine Learning. Machine Learning is a field of technology that is currently being widely used to create algorithms with large data (big data). The machine learning method used is Naive Bayes and Bagging. Furthermore, the two models were tested and showed that the Naive Bayes model gave the best performance compared to the Bagging model based on the values of accuracy, sensitivity and specificity. So the Naive Bayes model is the best machine learning model for predicting the factors that affect education, namely household members, gender and regional classification.

Abstract

Providing excellent public services is the goal of every local government. The Dumai City Government is currently competing to implement and take advantage of advances in information technology to help create effective public services. With the lack of efficiency in borrowing the pavilion building and equipment in the general section of the Dumai Mayor's office, still using letter requests is the cause of this problem. Therefore, making this web-based application called the application for the use of the Pendopo Building and borrowing equipment at the general part of the Dumai Mayor's office was carried out as an effort to overcome this problem. This application development is based on PHP programming. This application provides various kinds of facilities for borrowing the building and the equipment that is therein.

Abstract

After conducting directly research into the Balai Pengelolaan DAS Kuantan Agam to find out the problems being faced by observations and interviews (interviews) with interested parties, it was found that data in the processing of home loan system was still manually. Processing data uses Microsoft Office Excel by input data to the tables and using formulas in Excel. This is find the problems about processing data. The problem that find double data in the management data. The information have a long time for processing data. The solve for this problem is development of housing credit data management. Development is make a program that uses a database to data storage and data processing to quickly and precisely. So the report will be faster, precise and accurate. For running this system have a very adequate device. The methodology in this research is field research, library research and laboratory research.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the right marketing strategy for meatball products and generate optimum profits using Game Theory. The novelty of the research is lies in the object study. The data used in this study is primary data collected by using a questionnaire given to visitors at three Bakso Warungs in Bombana Regency, namely Warung Bakso Solo, Baper, and BRI. The number of samples to be observed is 50 respondents. Then the data that has been collected will be tested for validity and reliability, and then will be processed using the Game Theory method. Based on the results of the analysis obtained the optimal strategy for each meatball stall. The optimal game value obtained shows that the advantage of Warung Bakso Solo in marketing is that product prices are cheaper, but Warung Bakso Solo must use a strategy to improve the cleanliness of the stalls so that sales are optimal. The advantage of Warung Bakso Baper in marketing is the politeness of employees, but Warung Bakso Baper must improve in the strategy of timely delivery of orders. The superiority of Warung Bakso BRI in marketing is product quality, but Warung Bakso BRI must improve its employee politeness strategy

Abstract

This study concerned to apply the Cox proportional hazard regression model to the incidence of ties using two approaches, namely the Efron approach and the Breslow approach, and find out its application in cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever at Dr. Hasri Ainun Habibie Hospital, Gorontalo Regency. Dengue hemorrhagic fever data was taken from Dr. Hasri Ainun Habibie Hospital, Gorontalo Regency. There were seven variables considered in this study, namely age, sex, Hemoglobin, Erythrocytes, Leukocytes, Platelets, and type of treatment. Then tested the proportional hazard assumption, all variables met the proportional hazard assumption and were included in the model. After testing the Cox best model, the two approaches used gave different results where there was one significant variable, namely, leukocytes in the Efron approach, while there was no single variable. significant based on the Breslow approach

Abstract
