Abstract

Competitiveness business need high quality human resources. Human resources as workforce in the industry must be protected by Health and Safety programme (K3). This reseach apropiate five factors K3, ie: safety training, safety work publication, environment work, monitoring and disiplin, and improving awareness K3. Productivity can see from productivity factors ie motive work, ability, enviroment, compensasion, social garancy, and work relationship. The objective of this research is to analyze between the health and safety programme and work productivity. This research uses survey, sampling method and questioners as the tools in collecting the main data. This research is conducted in Production division PTPN VIII Gunung Mas, Bogor. To analyze data uses descriptive analyzis and correlation analyzis. Rank Spearman is used to analyze the correlation. This research shows these following results: there is significant correlation and positive between the health and safety programme and work productivity. Abstract

Ever since the concept of Quality of Work Life (QWL) was first used over 30 years ago, arrange of definition and theoretical constructs have succeeded each other with the aim of mitigating the many problems facing the concePT  This study was aimed to improve employees motivation by implementing QWL programs in the cattle fattening industry as a case study.  The research showed that according to Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), priority of main factors are: (1) participative job design; (2) democratic supervision; (3) participation on profit sharing; (4) quality circle; (5) participation in decision making process. Results of this analysis indicated that the formal program was suggested as a strategic alternative in implementing QWL. This finding contributes to operationalization of the QWL theory. Drawing on the dependent nature of employees and organizations, the implication are that the organization must provide support structures, such as employee development and career advancement opportunities, when seeking to transform the QWL. In this way, it can improve working conditions, achieve higher motivation from individual employees, and thus improve the performance of the organization.Keywords: Proses Hierarki Analitik, Job Design, Motivasi, Partisipasi, Quality of Work Life, Quality Circle.

Abstract

The presence of the foreign banking ownership in Indonesia has resulting in pro and contra. In one side it’s worried that the ownership of foreign banking may create foreign domination, but in the other hand states that the ownership of foreign banking has brings the positive impact in the efficiency and stabilization of banking. Meanwhile, national bank which is manage by government are often to be said having bad performance. This research is purposed to see the differences of the finance & share performances between bank that was dominated by foreign capital and bank that was dominated by government. Seven banks are taken as sample in the study and categorized into categorizes mentioned above. They are also included emitten bank registered in BEI. The 2007 financial statements of the banks are used in this study to observe and compute the variables determining the performance of the banks. The variables are LDR, CAR, ROE, BOPO, PBR and PER. The calculation and analysis are entirely based on Kruskal Wallis test technique. The result of the study provided that there are no significant differences on those variables in both group of banking. It means that no differences of the finance and share performances between the two groups of bank.Kata kunci: LDR, CAR, ROE, BOPO, PBV, PER, Bank dominasi asing, Bank dominasi negara.

Abstract

Since the year of 2000 until 2007, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk has put in place the CSR program into the working agenda of the company from the corporate structure through the whole related business part. The company has been emphasizing the effort to achieve the better prosper of public quality of life. The main objective of the research is to understand the effectiveness of the CSR program of Unilever Indonesia Foundation as part of the CSR program definition which so far has been conducted and in order to compare the CSR program among other similar companies. The information and data that has been collected within this research are covering both the primary and secondary data based on the date of August 2008 to October 2008. The method of the analysis are using the descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation analysis. Based on the research, to conclude, there are three CSR program operated by the Unilever Indonesia Foundation which include environmental program, recycling, and education. Based on the regression analysis, the results show the factors affecting the environmental program that are including organizational issue and priority of needs. As for the recycle program, the factors that affect the effectiveness of the CSR program are the party who receive the support and organizational issue. Additionally, the education program is mainly driven by the priority of needs.Keywords: Effectiveness, Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Preservation.

Abstract

Most organizations face the dynamic environment and change regularly. The increasing bank competition tightly brings current competition which is not anymore only at price competition, interest and statistics, but also non-price competition. This condition will increase work stress level of employees. The objective of this research is to identify work stressors and stress symptoms, analyze work stress level totality based on characteristic of employees and identify stress management according to employees perception and management perception of PT BRI (Persero) Tbk Bogor. The result shows that the work stressors consist of  duty demand, role demand, interpersonal demand, organization structure, organization leadership and organization life cycle.  The symptoms of stress consist of physiological, psychological and behavioral. Work stress level of PT BRI (Persero) Tbk Bogor employees totality be at low category.  All the characteristic of employees don’t have significant relationship with work stress. No significant work stress differences based on all the characteristic of employees. The management of PT BRI (Persero) Tbk Bogor has already striven stress management but hasn’t optimal in that implementation. Abstract

The glowing of modern shopping center (MSC) development in Bogor City has caused competition between the promoters of MSC to seized on visitor’s heart.  It needs more attention of the MSC’s promoters to know about the visitor behavior. The purpose of this research is: (1) to identify the step of MSC’s visitor decision making in Bogor City, (2) to know about the preference of visitor for the attribute of MSC in Bogor City, (3) to know about the positioning of MSC in Bogor City, for the case study in Botani Square, Ekalokasari Plaza, Bogor Trade Mall and Pangrango Plaza. The data used in this research was in form of primary and secondary data. Data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis, importance performance analysis (IPA), and multidimensional scaling (MDS). The result of the data processing by using multidimensional scaling showed that each of MSC has each characteristic for position in perceptual map.  Furthermore, it was found in the perceptual map that there are three MSC which have close position each other; they are Botani Square, Ekalokasari Plaza, and Pangrango Plaza. That close position showed that Botani Square is the direct competitor of Ekalokasari Plaza and Pangrango Plaza. That perceptual map also showed that Ekalokasari Plaza has the best positioning strategy, because it has the most dominant nearness with two dimensions; namely: 1) supporting facility dimension and 2) completeness of tenant variation dimension.Kata kunci: Modern Shopping Center, Visitor Decision, Preferences, Positioning.
