Abstract

The Dawan language system shows a distinctive feature in terms of the clitization process of persona pronouns in the formation of verbs that carry out predicate functions in various sentence forms. The clitical forms of the persona pronoun play a variety of roles in forming the verb construction. One of them is a reflective verb. This reflective verbal construction is formed from reflective clitics or what is referred to in this paper as reflector clitics in their unity with the persona pronoun enclosure. Reflective verbal construction is a linguistic product that is still actively used in the community of owners and users of Dawan language. Consistency in using linguistic elements correctly shows the positive attitude of this society towards the language. Reflective verbal constructions are formed from the proclitic of the persona pronoun. the basic form, the reflector morpheme, and the enclosure of the persona pronoun. The basic principle of reflective verbal formation is the use of a reflector morpheme, namely {-o-}. Relatively speaking, this morpheme expresses the meaning of 'to oneself' which in use is unified with the persona pronoun enclit. The process of forming a reflective verbal construction can occur in the basic form of the persona pronoun's proximate word through the use of a reflector that is integrated with the enclitic of the persona pronoun. Both proclitic and enclitic in reflective verbal construction are the same persona pronoun.

Abstract

The Caci aesthetic of the Manggarai ethnic group in Flores does not only function as a show that entertains the community. Caci aesthetics contributes to the value of knowledge for this aesthetic society. A number of aesthetic elements such as the call are symbols of the stored knowledge and record the traces of the Manggarai ethnic culture. Panggal is an aesthetic artifact, the fruit of the world of Manggarai ethnic aesthetic ideas and dialectic aesthetic knowledge. The hermeneutic theory of symbols is used to dissect research problems. This research uses qualitative research methods with an ethnographic approach. The findings in this study are that the pelvis is an aesthetic artifact that carves a fertility concept that can be read from two dimensional oppositions, namely the physical and the spiritual.

Abstract

In addition to grammatical-formal constructions, Minangkabaunese has another type of grammatical constructions in which the stylistic-cultural meanings are capsulated. Such stylistic-grammatical constructions bring about language politeness values, as well. This paper, which is derived from and developed based on a part of the result of a research conducted in 2017and in 2019, particularly discusses the phenomena of ergativity and subject deletion of the stylistic-grammatical constructions in Minangkabaunese in conveying language politeness value. Two questions are respectively answered in this paper: (i) what is the degree of ergativity of stylistic-grammatical constructions in Minangkabaunese?; and (ii) how do the ergativity and subject deletion convey the language politeness value and language education? The studies were descriptive-qualitative researches operationally conducted in the form of a field linguistic research. The data are in the form of syntactic constructions which are categorized into the stylistic-grammatical constructions. The result of data analysis reveals that: (i) the stylistic-grammatical constructions of Minangkabaunese have high degree of ergativity; and (ii) they bring about the languge politeness value by means of ergative construction, subject deletion, and using ready-made and fixed constructions. These are all useful for language education, especially in Minangkabaunese and in other languages with the same or similar culture.

Abstract

Verbs are one of the word classes in the word class. All languages in the world have a class of words 'verbs', apart from, nouns, adjectives and conjunctions. Verbs have the characteristics of (1) morphological form, (2) syntactic behavior, and (3) semantic behavior. In the Anakalang language, verbs are found based on morphological characteristics, such as: dana angu 'do not eat', syntactic features, such as' Jiangu na payapame ta loku '' The fish that we caught in the river. And semantic features, such as the use of the prefix pa- in a word, the meaning is determined by the use of the word in the sentence, not on the word obtained by the pa- prefix, such as: papalume which is formed from two words hammer and prefix pa- dan me which means' we "which means hitting us" we hit each other. 'Meanwhile, papalugi is in the form of the word' hammer 'and the prefix pa- which means to hit', so, while gi means' ku 'or I, so papalugi means' to hit me (I)' I hit '. Semantically, verbs that get a prefix of their meaning are determined in their use in the sentence level. Types of verbs, such as: 'kaitu' pick 'as the basic form and use' pluck 'as a derivative.

Abstract

The Head of the Central Language Agency said that Indonesian has now become an international language. Since the 3rd Oath, namely Speaking One Indonesian Language which was made by the youth on October 28, 1928, speaking Indonesian is still one of the bonds that binds a sense of brotherhood among the citizens of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia hereby. day. The question is: is pride only limited to Indonesian as a tool to unite the nation? Indonesian is still the national language. Indonesian has become an international language? The answer is: Not yet. For students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program, FKIP Undana, a sense of pride or a sense of belonging and until now they still use the Indonesian language as a means of communication and the various roles and functions of the Indonesian language as above are not enough. His students are prospective teachers of Indonesian Language subjects from SMP, SMA and SMK levels. As a prospective teacher, the ability and skills to speak Indonesian properly and correctly do not only underline the role of the citizens of the Republic of Indonesia. Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the types of word formation in the names of the giants; the fictional characters in children's book entitled The BFG written by Roald Dahl. This research was designed as descriptive qualitative research. To investigate the language phenomenon, the writer employed Yule's theoretical framework regarding the word-formation process. There are 10 types of word-formation processes proposed by Yule (2010), such as coinage, borrowing, compounding, blending, conversion, acronym, derivation, back-formation, clipping, and multiple processes. But apparently, in creating names for the giants characters in the story, Dahl only used 3 types of word formation, they are an acronym, compounding, and multiple processes.
