Abstract

The study investigated the teachers’ job satisfaction and its perceived influence on secondary school students’ academic performance using a descriptive survey research approach. Three research questions and two hypotheses were examined. The population consists of all public secondary school teachers in Ojodu Local Government Area of Lagos State. The study’s sample size comprised 246 teachers selected from eight public secondary schools across the Ojodu Local Government Area of Lagos State using a proportional sampling technique. A self-structured questionnaire regarding Teachers’ Job Satisfaction and perceived influence on secondary school students’ academic performance Questionnaire (TJSPSSSAPQ) was used as the research instrument. Four points Likert scale was used to calculate the respondent’s answers. Descriptive statistic of percentage was utilized to evaluate participant bio-data, percentage and mean were used to address the study issues, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation was employed to test the hypotheses. It was concluded that teachers’ satisfaction with working conditions and human relations significantly correlated with the academic performance of secondary schools in the Ojodu Local Government Area. However, it was recommended that school management and the education board should recognize the effort of teachers and reward them appropriately. They should encourage teachers through regular and prompt payment of salaries, good working conditions, regular promotions, and other welfare packages.

Abstract

Learners can be said as individuals who are in the process of developing their attitudes, abilities, and knowledge. In the process, this development does not always reach an optimal degree, even developmental stagnation, personality problems, or behavioral deviations can occur. In this case, guidance and counseling services for students can be pursued as an effort to prevent students from developing in unexpected directions. However, the effectiveness of this effort can be realized if the service provider can identify students' needs for guidance and counseling services based on aspects of personal, social, academic, and student career competency standards. Therefore, this study aims to describe the results of the analysis of students' needs for guidance and counseling services based on these three aspects. This needs analysis has been carried out in the first year of research. The research method used is a quantitative research approach with a descriptive-analytic method. This research was conducted in two cities and two districts in West Java Province (Bandung City, Bandung Regency, Cimahi City, and West Bandung Regency). The research population was all students from class VII to class XII. The research subjects involved included experts, practitioners, and junior and senior high school students.

Abstract

This study investigated the influence of online and physical classrooms on student academic performance. The descriptive research of the survey type was employed for the target population for the study consisting of 200 students in five randomly selected faculties at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. The findings of this study were that both online and physical learning positively influenced students’ academic performance; students faced challenges while learning both physically and virtually; students engaged online performed better than those engaged physically with a mean difference of 2.38; there was a significant difference between the academic performance of students taught in an online classroom based on faculty; and there was no significant difference between the academic performance of students taught in an online class based on gender. It was concluded that physical and online education have many things in common. Students must still turn in assignments, participate in class, understand the content, and finish group projects. Teachers still need to create lesson plans, improve the quality of their teaching, respond to students' queries in class, encourage learning, and grade assignments.

Abstract

In scientific writing in the form of articles, the term template is often used. every author who would publish an article in a journal must change the draft format according to the journal template. Therefore, this research was conducted to discuss ways to do templates quickly using Microsoft Word. Some tools and materials must be prepared in doing the template, namely Microsoft Word, article draft, and journal templates. Based on the results and discussion it was found that in the template process, four steps must be carried out, namely blocking, copying, pasting, and checking. This research is expected to help authors who would adjust the format and move the article draft they make into the journal template.
