Abstract

This research aims to describe the ability to write naration discourse by using media picture in fifth grade students at SDN Dukuh Menanggal I/424 Surabaya. The research design uses a quantitative approach and the type of research is descriptive statistics. The results of the study in general showed that the ability to write naration discourse by using media picture in fifth grade students at SDN Dukuh Menanggal I/424 Surabaya, namely 14 students (50%) were very capable, 7 students (25%) were able, and 7 students (25%) quite capable. As for specifically the abilities of students in (1) detailing and sorting events chronologically, namely (a) on the indicator detailing events 15 students (54%) were able, 13 students (46%) were quite capable; (b) the indicators order events chronologically, namely 20 students (71%) are capable, 8 students (29%) are quite capable; (2) using language, namely (a) on the indicator of the use of letters only 1 student (3.5%) is capable, 1 student (3.5%) is quite capable, 26 students (93%) are not able; (b) on the word choice indicator, 16 students (57.1%) were able, 11 students (39.3%) were quite capable, 1 student (3.6%) was not able; (c) on the indicator of using sentences, 17 students (61%) were able, 10 students (36%) were quite capable, 1 student (3%) was not able.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine and interpret the lyrics of a song entitled "Di Timur" on one of Sal's albums entitled "Be careful". The researchers focused on the meaning and signs contained in the lyrics of the song "Di Timur". The method used by researchers is a qualitative research method with hermeneutic analysis techniques, which in this hermeneutic technique has a relationship with examining and interpreting in depth the object being studied. The researcher uses Semiotics theory to dissect and clarify song lyrics as the object of research. In Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotics there is a focus on Signs, Objects, and Interpretants which are commonly known as the triangle of meaning. The researcher conducted an analysis in studying the lyrics of the song "Di Timur" by Sal Priadi using Charles Sanders Pierce's Semiotics theory, so a data was found in the form of the phenomenon of the love phase which could be studied again in depth to get the meaning and signs implied in the lyrics of the song "Di Timur" " the. examines the lyrics of the song "Di Timur" by classifying objects into signs, objects, and interpretants. The phenomenon of the love phase implied in the lyrics of the song "Di Timur" includes the infatuation phase, the calm phase, the stormy phase, the stable phase, and the unconditional love phase.Some of these things can be seen through the data found in the study.

Abstract

This article describes the conflict of characters in the novel Sumbang by Musa Ismail and its implications in learning in schools This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods of analysis. The purpose of this study is to describe the author's views on the social conflicts that occur in the novel Sumbang and its implications for learning in schools. The data collection techniques used are documentation, interview, record and record techniques. The source of this research data is a novel with the title Sumbang and the subject of the informant, namely Mr. Musa Ismail as the author of the novel Sumbang. The results showed that there is an author's view of character conflicts, namely, character conflicts between individuals and individuals and individuals with society or groups.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of denotative semiotics and the meaning of connotative in the malay village bele tradition found in the village of Pelanduk Mandah Indragiri. The meaning of denotative semiotics and connotative semiotic meaning were obtained, namely in the form of objects and equipment used during traditional processions or ritual carried out in the village of Pelanduk Mandah Indragiri. This study used deskriptive qualitative method. Qualitative descriptive research is a method used to describen analyze, and summrize various situations and conditions from varius data in the form of observatuons about problems. Data collection techniques in this study are observation techniques, interview techniques. The results of this study found 27 datums in the from of objects and equipment used and have denotative meanings and connotative meanings.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of adaptation from the novel Merindu Cahaya De Amstel by Arumi Ekowati to the film Merindu Cahaya De Amstel directed by Hadrah Daeng Ratu. This study used a descriptive qualitative method to describe the forms of adaptation in the novel and the film. The data sources were the novel and the film. The data were collected through note-taking techniques. The presentation of the analysis results used descriptive analysis techniques with three steps: describing, analyzing the data, and concluding the results. The results of this study showed that there was an adaptation process from the novel to the film, with a total of 15 data found consisting of 3 data on the plot, 7 data on the setting, and 5 data on the characters. Eight data additions were found, consisting of 2 data on the plot, 4 data on the setting, and 2 data on the characters. Then, five data changes were found, consisting of 2 data on the plot, 1 data on the setting, and 2 data on the characters. Thus, the most prominent process of adaptation from the overall data in this study was condensation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the language politeness of students at SMK Teknik Balung. The utterances taken are during teaching and learning activities and outside teaching and learning activities. This research uses qualitative method. The data and data sources are the speech of students in Balung technical vocational school which includes the maxims of wisdom, generosity, respect, simplicity, agreement and sympathy. The data collection techniques used are observation and documentation techniques in the form of free listening techniques, note taking, and recording techniques. Observation is done to find out whether the data source used is appropriate. Listening and recording techniques are used when collecting data. The recording technique was used to record the data. The data analysis is the intralingual pairing method with the comparative difference relation (HBB). The results of this study found the existence of the maxims of wisdom, generosity, respect, simplicity, agreement and sympathy. The data reflects that the students of SMK Teknik Balung have polite and well-mannered speech. The assumption given by others that students in SMK are not polite is wrong. The suggestions that can be given to future researchers are. Future researchers are expected to explain the factors that cause people to assume that students who have ethics are usually only high school students. Whereas vocational students also use polite language.

Abstract

Euphemisms are euphemism which are a figure of speech or an expression that is used to refine words, phrases, sentences that are harsh or taboo according to the context that follows them to protect the feelings of others. This study aims to: describe the form of euphemism and the function of using euphemisms. The focus of this research is (1) the form of using euphemisms in the Jawa Pos newspaper in 2023. The research is a qualitative research. The data used in this research are words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that contain euphemisms. Data was obtained by data collection techniques, namely reading and recording using the euphemism data table instrument. Data analysis techniques with data grouping, data couding, data interpretation, and data description. The results of this research are: (1) Several forms of euphemism are found, namely the use of initials and acronym abbreviations, the use borrowed words, the use of foreign terms, the use of metaphors, and the use of periphrases. Abstract

Communication between humans is the primary function of language. Language is an arbitrary system of symbols of sound that is used by members of social groups to cooperate, communicate, and identify themselves. It can be interpreted asa study of language in relation to society or how it functions in society. Sociolinguistics experts say that speakers involved ina speech event must have a communicative competence or knowledge of language systems combined with existing rules or norms in society in order to make proper use of language ina speech situation. Therefore,people in the community adjust to their environment there are speaking and speaking styles in the community. The results of this research are controlled by codes and interlaced codes. Temporary override codes to produce data using indonesian-java, Java ngoko-java kromo. To override the permanent code, produce a file of Javanese use of good manners for people who respect such nobility. The result of the code-mixing only exists a positive mixing because this film is free of Sara's sentences. The study's code combines both Indonesian and Javanese (ngoko and krama) in one clause.

Abstract

Based on the observations of researchers during PLP at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jambi City, whenstudents read a narrative text in front of other students, then students do assignments according to the contents of the narrative text they are reading, but there are still students who do not understand the contents of the text, because the text is too long so students become unfocused. Therefore the researcher offers a learning media in the form of Youtube media that can be used by teachers in learning narrative text. The purpose of this researchto describe the use of YouTube as a learning medium for narrative text material in class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jambi City. The research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jambi City, the subject of this research was a Class VII Indonesian teacher. The approach in this research is a qualitative approach. This type of research, descriptive. The data obtained is in the form of student work in using YouTube as a learning medium. The results showed that the use of YouTube as a learning medium for class VII narrative text material at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jambi City in its implementation was in accordance with the learning implementation plan. Starting from the teacher carrying out preliminary activities, then in the main stages the teacher explains, asks questions and determines the results of student work to be made, the teacher helps students determine themes, determines schedules for collecting work results, in closing activities the teacher concludes the learning that has been carried out.

Abstract

Education which is very closely related to learning activities, where the learning process involves various supporting elements ranging from students to teachers. Learning in which the process of interaction and the process in which a teacher will be the party who imparts knowledge while students are the parties who receive knowledge. Learning activities must make students feel comfortable with it so that the knowledge conveyed will be well received . One of the things that can be done is to apply an innovative learning model, as is the case with the creative response project learning model . Where this learning model has its own charm for students, because students will be more likely to capture what they see and hear, rather than just what they see or hear. In that case students will be more active in learning because in this creative response project model the students are more active, in using this creative response project learning model you can also see the increased learning outcomes of students, and the responses of students who are so very enthusiastic. The goal to be achieved from the implementation of this research is to describe student responses, student activities, and student learning outcomes by applying the creative response project learning model. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive research. The sample taken in this study was class IX at SMP Negeri 1 Diwek, Jombang Regency. With a population of class IX F with a total of 28 students. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires, observation sheets, and question sheets which included pretest and posttest . Based on the results of the analysis which shows that: 1) The students' response to the lesson is classified as positive with a percentage of more than 50% in a classical manner. 2) student activity is classified as very active with a classical percentage of 86.18%. 3) the learning outcomes of students achieve 100% completeness classically with an average grade of 92.67
