Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the role of recontextualization of tourism communication in the reconstruction of national integration. Through the constructivist paradigm with descriptive methods, the recontextualization of tourism communication is an effort for sustainable social change with a pattern of cultural tourism. On the other hand, the reconstruction of national integration is a horizontal effort in assembling the dimensions of differences, whether regional differences, residences, ethnic differences, religious differences, cultural differences and other differences. The conclusion obtained is that through tourism communication, which has the core management of meaning of sustainable and cultural tourism, a national "diversity friendship" mobility will be formed.

Abstract

President Jokowi made public communication related to Covid-19 on March 2, 2020. Government communication in this crisis has become a challenge because since that moment the public's response and assessment began. In the early stages, public communication carried out by the government was still in the perspective of Crisis Communication, various kinds of confusion of information began to emerge, the public became doubtful about the truth of the scattered data. Furthermore, the World Health Organization recommends handling Covid-19 from the perspective of Risk Communication which is considered more comprehensive and effective in building communication to the public. For this reason, this study intends to evaluate Government Public Communication in Handling Covid-19 in a Risk Communication Perspective. This study uses qualitative research methods, applies a phenomenological research design by searching for data through observation and in-depth interviews through the application of purposive sampling by determining key informants from the government, communication experts, and the community. Secondary data collection is also carried out through journals, websites, webinar presentations, YouTube, social media, and online media portals. The results showed that the transformation of Government Public Communication from Crisis Communication to Risk Communication was carried out not only because of a request from the World Health Organization as an evaluation of government-run communication but also as a form of improving the Indonesian government's communication strategy in handling covid-19 which at first it was considered not alert and fast in preventing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. In addition, the success of Risk Communication cannot be separated from the active engagement of the community in helping the government produce and disseminate information content that is attractive, trustworthy, and accountable.

Abstract

Communication processes occur in all places or public spaces, both among educated people and ordinary people. This is because every human being is a social creature, which can not be separated from communication with other humans as a means of meeting their needs. The communication aims to convey a message to other parties. The research in this article is qualitative, so the results of this study emphasize the meaning rather than generalization. Basically, the publicity that occurs in communication itself contains critical and comprehensive power without ignoring the logical value of the decision making process. Therefore, to build effective communication patterns, responsive responsiveness of communicators is needed in the process of communication in the public sphere.

Abstract

Public Relations service system of the North Sumatera State Islamic University in building the image of the North Sumatera State Islamic University .Service system is according to the meaning of the word, system is a regular way of procedures to do something. The service system is actually a unit of factors needed in the implementation of a service system. The service system also at the event is a framework of interconnected procedures and methods, which are arranged according to a comprehensive scheme to carry out an activity or main function of the company produced by a particular process that aims to provide information, provide services by fulfilling public interest in creating good services with processes in the service system. Helping the day-to-day decision making of the company's operations management as well as providing appropriate information to share.The purpose of this study is to see the Public Relations Service System of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra in Building the Image of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. This study uses the theory of image and service quality proposed by Frank Jefkins and Mardi Jhon Harrowitz, while the theory of service quality by Ridwan and Sudarajat and Bharata. The method in this study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the public relations service system of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra provides a positive image to the community.

Abstract

Work motivation and tenure of employees in the organization have a very big influence on the organizational communication climate. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of organizational communication climate at the Palopo City Wara Sub-district Office in improving employee performance. The research method uses descriptive qualitative research. Determination of informants in this study using purposive sampling technique, namely the method of determining the appropriate sample on certain criteria in accordance with the information required. The data analysis technique used interactive qualitative. The results showed that the organizational communication climate carried out by the Wara Head Office of Palopo City used open communication and was implemented in three ways, namely the technical meeting which is held once a month, employee participation and cooperation. between employees in each division.

Abstract

This research was made to see and measure the existence of dynamic organizational changes characterized by the transfer of employess from one company to another or other organizations to get comfortable at wor, welfare, and by the motivation of the vision and mission that exist in employees and the presence of a crisis. There is a breakdown of the patterns, beliefs, and structures that underline the old culture. This research is quantitative, data collection techniques using a closed questionnaire, to employees at PT Askrindo (Persero) Surakarta city branch. Data analysis using simple linier analysis, the data source is processed using the SPSS statistical application. The result showed that there was a significant influence of organizational communication climate on organizational culture, so the hypothesis (Ha) can be proven. The amount of influence of the indepent variable (organizational communication climate) in influencing the dependent variable (organizational culture) is determined by the R Square value of 20.1%. This means that the influence is given by the predictor variable (organizational communication climate) on the criterion variable (organizational culture) is 20.1%, while the remaining 79.9% is influence by other variables not examined.

Abstract

Sebagai etnis minoritas tentu terdapat tantangan dalam berkomunikasi sosial ditengah etnis mayoritas. Beragam pola komunikasi nonverbal mereka gunakan agar dapat berbaur dan mendaptkan tempat di tengah etnis mayoritas. Metodologi kualitatif digunakan untuk melihat pola komunikasi yang digunakan etnis Cina Benteng. Penelitian ini menemukan etnis Ciben tatap menggunakan gaya bahasa dan simbolsimbol khas etnis Cina tetapi dalam berkomunikasi sehari-hari lekat menggunakan bahasa etnis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pentingnya menjaga dan melestarikan kepercayaan yang menjadi sumber nilai dalam kehidupan orang orang terdahulu. Mengingat tradisi dan komunikasi merupakan bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dalam kehidupan masyarakat sehari hari. Tradisi pawai obor dapat diistilahkan dengan persepsi atau komunikasi yang disampaikan lewat pawai obor dalam menyambut datangnya bulan suci Ramadhan oleh masyarakat kota Pontianak. Pawai obor ini dilakukan oleh seluruh masyarakat kota Pontianak dan masyarakat diluar kota Pontianak. Tradisi ini dilaksanakan dan diberangkatkan dari halaman depan Masjid Raya Mujahiddin Pontianak di Jalan Ahmad Yani, kemudian tembus ke jalan Johar dan kembali berkumpul di masjid raya Mujahiddin. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian etnografi dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan kepustakaan. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tradisi pawai obor masyarakat kota Pontianak sesuai dan mencerminkan nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam ajaran agama atau perspektif islam yang mengajarkan kegembiraan masyarakat kota Pontianak dalam menyambut bulan ramadhan dan melestarikan kebudayaan lokal yang dibentuk dalam kegiatan pawai obor bagi seluruh masyarakat kota Pontianak. Secara perspektif islam, ternyata ajaran islam juga sangat memperhatikan tentang tradisi atau kebudayaan yang dikenal dengan adab dalam bahasa arab-nya sebagai bagian dari sandaran atau sumber hukum pada tradisi itu sendiri.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the communication strategy of Radio Tjandra FM Cianjur in facing media convergence. The subjects of this study consisted of 6 employees who knew the strategy and implementation of media convergence on Tjandra FM Cianjur radio, either as policymakers or policy implementers in the field. The basis of the theory used is New Media by Pierre Levy. This research uses qualitative research methods with a case study approach. Data collection activities used were interviews, observation, and documentation.The results of this study found that to adapt to current technological advances, namely the internet. (1) Tjandra FM Radio converges media by combines conventional media with internet media. That is, not only doing on air but also marketing content through social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, websites, and radio streaming applications. (2) Tjandra FM Radio branding audiences for promotion and image building. The strategy is carried out by not only broadcasting on air but also off-air using OB Van (On Board Van), as well as being an event organizer at an event. Keywords: Communication strategies, qualitative, media convergence.
