Jurnal Teknologi Lingkungan Lahan Basah (ISSN: 2622-2884) is a scientific journal published by Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Tanjungpura, Pontianak, Indonesia. The journal was purposed as a medium for disseminating research results in the form of full research article, short communication, and review article on aspects of environmental sciences. Jurnal Teknologi Lingkungan Lahan Basah is registered on the ISSN starting from Vol. 6, No. 2, July 2018. Jurnal Teknologi Lingkungan Lahan Basah accepts articles in Bahasa Indonesia or English by covering several topics of environmental studies including clean water supply, wastewater distribution, and treatment, drainage and treatment of liquid waste, solid waste treatment (solid waste), air pollution control, management of industrial and B3 discharges, environmental management (impact analysis), environmental conservation, water and soil pollution control, environmental health and sanitation, occupational safety and health, pollution control in wetlands. Since 2023, The journal periodically publishes four issues in a year in January, April, July, and October.

Abstract

The dug well water around Batu Layang landfill contains heavy metals, namely lead (Pb) and iron (Fe). This study aims to determine the adsorption kinetics model of each activated carbon. Heavy metal sorption uses activated carbon made from bagasse (AT), dried gambas (GK), and a combination (ATGK). The research method used jar tests with mass variations of 1 g, 2 g, 3 g and contact times of 30 and 60 minutes. Activation of activated carbon using 0.5 M HCl solution for 24 hours. Kinetics analysis is based on first-order and second-order kinetics. Langmuir, Freundlich, and BET adsorption equations are used in the adsorption process. The results showed that the adsorption kinetics of Pb metal for AT and GK activated carbons followed the second order while ATGK followed the first order. The adsorption equation for Pb metal for AT and GK activated carbon follows the Freundlich isotherm and ATGK activated carbon follows the BET isotherm. This research is important to see the potential of activated carbon made from AT and GK to be effective in adsorbing heavy metals.

Abstract

A poor metal waste disposal system increases the concentration of heavy metals in the environment, causing pollution. Reducing the concentration of heavy metal pollution can be done one way by bioremediation using bacteria. Exploratory research on mangrove bacteria shows that bacterial isolates have been successfully isolated and have the ability to grow on media containing mercury. In this research, further tests will be carried out in the form of screening and testing the effectiveness of mercury metal reduction. This research aims to find isolates that have a high ability to grow in environments containing mercury, and the effectiveness of reducing mercury metal by these bacteria. This basic research will be the beginning of the development of effective microorganisms as bioremediation agents. This research consisted of two stages, namely screening the best bacterial isolates and testing the effectiveness of mercury metal reduction. The research results showed that isolates B27, S04 and S23 were the best isolates in being able to remove mercury concentrations of up to 99.99%. This research is ongoing research which has the output as a first step in obtaining Effective Microorganisms which can later become products and can be applied as a method to improve environmental quality.

Abstract

Agriculture in Indonesia is a vital sector that can fulfill food needs and provide livelihoods. However, agriculture also contributes to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Indonesia's agricultural sector contributes around 14% of emissions globally and 7% nationally. Greenhouse gas emissions such as methane gas CH4, carbon dioxide CO2, and nitrous oxide N2O are generated from agricultural activities ranging from land preparation, fertilization, transportation of agricultural products, to processing in factories. These greenhouse gas emissions influence the climate change that occurs and affect the increase in temperature and rainfall patterns. In mitigation efforts, this study noted several steps taken. Energy conversion, such as the use of biogas from animal manure can reduce CH4 emissions and the use of pellets from palm waste processing can reduce CO2 emissions. Reforestation with special carbon-absorbing plants to reduce CO2 emissions. The use of organic fertilizers as a partial replacement for inorganic fertilizers is useful in reducing CH4 and N2O emissions. Through this systematic review, it is expected to contribute to the understanding of the role of the agricultural sector in greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia and provide insight into mitigation efforts that can be applied in achieving sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Damage to mangrove ecosystems in coastal areas could result in biotic and abiotic physical changes. This damage might occur due to natural factors or human activities. Among the damaged mangrove ecosystems in East Kalimantan Province is Sebuntal Village. The aim of this research is to monitor and evaluate the survival rate of mangrove seedlings in Sebuntal village, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The research population used in this research was all mangrove seedlings (Avicennia spp) planted during community service activities on August 9th, 2023. The research method used in this study was the survey method. It was found that the survival rate in this study was only 8.2%. This research showed that individual mangroves' survival rates were unsuccessful due to inappropriate planting times, hydro-oceanographic patterns that are poorly studied, and poor seed preparation.

Abstract

Aktivitas pembakaran limbah berbahaya dan beracun (B3) pada insinerator rumah sakit menghasilkan emisi diantaranya karbon monoksida (CO), nitrogen oksida (NOx), partikulat, dan sulfur dioksida (SO2) yang dapat membahayakan kesehatan masyarakat di sekitar kawasan insinerator. Sebagian besar gas dan partikulat diemisikan melalui cerobong dan terdispersi disekitar kawasan insinerator rumah sakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola dispersi emisi CO, NOx, partikulat, dan SO2 dari sumber insinerator RSUD Sultan Syarif Muhammad Alkadrie dengan Model SCREEN3 berdasarkan hasil uji emisi Bulan Juni 2022 dan Juni 2023. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada insinerator RSUD Sultan Syarif Muhammad Alkadrie. Model SCREEN3 digunakan untuk mengestimasikan nilai konsentrasi dan jarak konsentrasi maksimum selanjutnya visualisasi dilakukan dengan perangkat lunak Surfer. Hasil permodelan menunjukan konsentrasi emisi dan ambien yang dihasilkan oleh insinerator RSUD Sultan Syarif Muhammad Alkadrie masih memenuhi baku mutu PerMenLHK Nomor P.70/Menlhk/Setjen/Kum.1./8/2016 dan PP 22 Tahun 2021. Hasil visualisasi menunjukan pola dispersi emisi pada Juni 2022 dominan bergerak dari arah selatan barat daya menuju arah timur-timur laut sedangkan pada Juni 2023 dominan bergerak dari arah barat menuju timur

Abstract

Pemanfaatan biochar sebagai upaya perbaikan kondisi lahan pertanian di Indonesia dengan beragam bahan pada berbagai kondisi atau jenis tanah yang berbeda-beda telah dilakukan untuk melihat respon tanah yang dihasilkan dari keberagaman bahan biochar tersebut. Kondisi lahan yang semakin kritis dan jenis tanah yang berbeda di Indonesia menyebabkan dilakukan banyak percobaaan untuk melihat jenis atau bahan biochar yang cocok dengan jenis tanah yang berbeda tersebut. Banyak penelitian terdahulu yang menunjukkan adanya hasil atau respon beberapa jenis tanah terhadap bahan biochar yang diberikan. Namun, belum semua jenis tanah di Indonesia telah dilakukan uji coba terhadap penggunaan biochar karena beberapa sifat dan karakteristik tanah yang tidak layak untuk digunakan sebagai lahan pertanian pertanian. Artikel ini berusaha menjabarkan kembali beberapa fakta penelitian terdahulu tentang penggunaan biochar dengan beragam bahan sebagai agen perbaikan kualitas tanah untuk meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian.
