Abstract

Mathematics subject is always considered as one of the most difficult subjects. To overcome this difficulty in learning mathematics, school age students must be given a variety of mentoring and mathematical learning approaches. The Pork Food Community, is a community of school-age children whose daily lives have to divide their time for school, after which they search for 'pork food', and time to study at home. Another problem is that the economic condition of parents causes these children to be unable to get private lessons. Therefore mentoring for learning mathematics, in mentoring was also given to learn mathematics with integer counting operation props. So that it can increase interest in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Science and Technology for society (IbM) is one of the community services focused on the implementation of science and technological advances from the university to enhance the technological insight and skill of the society. The program is carried out in terms of community service and study on the technological advances of the university. The target of this program is the public as a whole, ranging from an individual, group, community, to some instances in both urban and rural areas. The program is offered to the university in particular towards lecturers and research centers by Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) and Directorate General of Research and Development Strengthening of the Ministry of Higher Education Research and Technology, Government of Indonesia in terms of research grant throgh research proposal application to be selected. This is conducted in order to realize the new paradigm of community service by the university namely solving the problem, comprehensive, totally meaningful,and sustainable with more multiple targets. In 2016, the author recieved the grant and used it for research. Since one of the requirements of the target audience of this program is a group, the program is conducted towards IbM on a group of women artisans of handmade batik Canting Merapi and Fiber Merapi, which was established in 2013, through the program of Life Skills Improvement (PKH) Oriented on Women Empowerment hosted by the Center for Gender Studies, Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) in collaboration with the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). The group was selected for the sake of sustainability and also because the group has the potential to grow with its distinctive motif pattern of scarce flora and fauna that only grows on the slopes of Merapi. In addition, the resulted batik is also environmentally friendly since it does not use any synthetic dyes but only natural dyes. Therefore, this article will elucidate the women empowerment programs that have been carried in particular both the method and aspects of priority issues to be resolved. The activities are carried out by community empowerment (Participatory rural appraisal). While the two priority issues to be resolved are the aspects of production and management. The Aspect of production is solely focused on raw materials, motif design, and production equipment. Meanwhile, the aspect of management is closely related to venture capital, financial management, sales, marketing, and human resources skills.

Abstract

Health service is a primary need for our society. Health workers of Medical Laboratory Technology as a important role in public health needs through examination of human specimens including HBsAg. HBsAgused as a detection of hepatitis recorded by humans. Hepatitis B is a dangerous infectious disease while a problem in the world, especially Indonesia. Transmission of the hepatitis B virus is very easy and everyone has the potential to be infected, including high school students. Teenagers in high school do not understand the risks and health status that can be caused when infected with the Hepatitis B virus. Community service activities for students of SMAN 1 PUMU treatedHBsAg for 25 students with 1 student shows positive HBsAg results. This results indicate the potential for transmission of the Hepatitis B virus that can be transmitted if the the problem can’t be solved. Routine inspection programs need to do for early detection of Hepatitis B virus by collaborating with the stakeholders.

Abstract

In late pregnancy, complaints such as low back pain, varicose veins, hemorrhoids and pelvic pain are present. One of the common discomforts is low back pain. Maternal age at delivery is associated with an increased risk of urinary incontinence. This research is quasi experimental with pre and post design. by observing the effect of postnatal exercises training on Low Back Pain complaints with the parameters of Oswestry Disability for Low Back Pain Dysfunction and urinary incontinesia with QUID parameters. Intervention is done Exercisess. Exercises duration between 30-50 minutes in one practice session, frequency 3 times a week for 10 weeks. It is known that the value of p = 0.00 <0.01 with depedent test t test then this shows the effect of postpartum exercises on urine incontinence in women after normal delivery 8-16 weeks in Sukabumi City. From 11,92 different meaning. In the analysis of low back pain before and after the intervention (table 5.3) obtained p value = 0.00 so p <0.05 this shows there is a significant change between before and after the postnatal exercises interventions in women postpartum normal.Dari Low Back Pain measurement results with using the Questionnaire Oswestry Disability Index obtained a mean score before the 12.63 ± 1.25 intervention and the mean score after the intervention of 0.56 ± 0.96. So the difference between Low Back Pain score before and after intervention 12.07 ± SD 0.29. After a statistical test with an average Wilcoxon Test of ODI in normal postpartum women 8-16 weeks obtained p value of 0.00 indicates a significant change with 16 people experienced a decrease in ODI score. Thus one way to prevent and reduce low back pain in postpartum women is by doing exercises. So patients who are trained in postpartum exercises have a lower low back pain incidence and when a low back pain complaint attack is lighter.

Abstract

Women, especially housewives, hold a number of central functions in the family and are important economic resources. Empowerment of women is very important because it can create conditions, atmosphere, climate, which allows the potential to develop. The main priority of empowerment is the creation of independence. Self-empowerment efforts have also been realized by groups of housewives who are PKM partners, consisting of three people joined in the "Dasawisma Mawar V" and three people from the "Dasawisma Mawar IX" located in RT 22, RW 7, Kelurahan Manisrejo, Kecamatan Taman, Kota Madiun, Provinsi Jawa Timur. The objectives of this PKM activity are: 1) help empower groups of housewives who desire to become entrepreneurs; 2) help PKM partners in creating skills and comfort in community life through entrepreneurship; 3) improve thinking, reading and writing skills or other skills such as internet use. The target of this program are: 1) the formation of a new business in the field of handicrafts from rope or thread curry (macrame); 2) availability of production support tools to produce creative macramé products; 3) there is an increase in knowledge and skills in producing various types of creative macarame products and are in demand by consumers. The outputs of this program are: Modul Kewirausahaan, Modul Akuntansi Keuangan Dasar, and Modul Penggunaan Teknologi, Informasi, dan Komunikasi. The implementation method is carried out to achieve the purpose of community service through PKM activities through discussion methods, technical guidance/training, workshops, and mentoring. Through PKM activities, empowering partner groups to become entrepreneurs is expected to help empower groups of housewives who are PKM partners so that they can improve the welfare of families and surrounding communities in a concrete manner.

Abstract

Pulau Sumba saat ini sedang menjadi salah satu primadona pariwisata di Indonesia, karena menawarkan keindahan alam yang sangat indah. Tidak hanya keindahan alam, kekayaan budaya Sumba juga menyimpan potensi yang sangat besar untuk dapat dikembangkan. Wee Lewo adalah salah satu Kampung Adat yang memiliki potensi budaya tersebut, namun belum dapat memanfaatkan potensi tersebut untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup penduduknya. SEED (Social Enterprise for Economics Development) adalah sebuah program yang memberikan pengalaman pada peserta yang berasal dari berbagai Negara untuk belajar dengan menggunakan metode experiential learning dengan nuansa multi-cultural pada konteks desa di Asia Tenggara dengan tujuan utama adalah peningkatan perekonomian. Program SEED membantu menyelesaikan sebagian dari permasalahan yang ada di Kampung Adat Wee Lewo yang dimulai dengan pengumpulan data, analisa data serta dilanjutkan dengan usulan pengembangan dan pemanfaatan potensi kampung adat untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup penduduknya.

Abstract

Humans have reliable transportation which is blood. Blood can also give a person's identity, among others, through blood type. In addition to providing an identity to someone there are several other benefits from the examination of blood types such as to help monitor the diet, to help avoid certain diseases, to determine the risk of heart disease, to help prevent colon cancer, speed up the process of donating and receiving blood transfusions, help overcome fertility. Considering the importance of knowing one's blood type and based on a survey conducted by SMAN 1 Tanjung Sakti Lahat, there are still many who do not know their blood type. Blood type examination was carried out at SMAN 1 Tanjung Sakti Lahat in February 2017. Of the 54 students who examined blood types there were 23 students with a percentage of 42.6% who had blood type A, blood type B as many as 15 students with a percentage 27.8%, blood type AB as many as 5 students with a percentage of 9.2%, and students who have blood type O as many as 11 students with a percentage of 20.4%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Unavailability of clean water in accordance with water quality standards and the lack of knowledge of local Keramasan village communities to manage water that is safe, it is necessary to do a workshop / training design and processing of drinking water. The workshop aims to open insight, improve the knowledge and skills of the community in drinking water treatment training for the residents of Keramasan Kertapati. The service method is carried out by conducting training on the design of water filter devices, which are then channeled to ultra violet sterilizers to kill or kill pathogenic microorganisms in water so that the water can be drunk directly. The results of this service are expected to help the community to get water that is suitable for consumption independently and to provide understanding and improvement in the quality of health for the community

Abstract

The teaching and learning are a process that causes the activity of teachers and students do an activity together or work together and interact and interact to achieve the learning objectives. So that the learning objectives can be achieved, a teacher must be able to prepare the components supporting learning. One of them with the use of instructional media storytelling as a means of learning of students in the school. Storytelling can integrate media, teachers can optimize the message contained in a story, as well as to stimulate thought, feeling, hearing, vision, and interests of students during the learning process takes place. Learning through storytelling is learning that is fun, delivered with an atmosphere of warmth. The method used in service activities in SD Xaverius IV Palembang simulation method, discovery, and frequently asked questions. As a result, all students receive instruction at a time of refreshment in learning through storytelling.

Abstract

Training in the Service of Universitas Katolik Musi Charitas on Odd semester of 2016/2017 is the training that is based on Law No. 6 Year 20014 on the village. Act and these regulations then we specialize more on the Regulation of the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Indonesia Number 114 of 2014 on Guidelines for Rural Development in the form of training preparation of the Medium Term Development Plan Rural (Rural Development Plan) and the Government Work Plan Village. Training is given in a simple, detailed, and requires reciprocal (feedback) and activeness of the participants. It is expected that they can immediately put into practice and benefit from this training.
