Abstract

The name does not have the connotation of a particular language meaning, except to indicate what it is named after. Thus the name does not need to be translated into another language. In fact, when translated it will be prone to misunderstandings about what is meant. In the case of the translation of IAIN Kediri into Arabic carried out by the academic community of the Arabic language education study program, more than one variety of translations emerged, namely: 1) الجامعة الإسلامية الحكومية كديري dan 2) جامعة كديريالإسلامية الحكومية . This is due to differences in the techniques used to translate them. This inconsistency certainly resulted in the emergence of the allegation that the campus in question was different. This study uses a qualitative method by taking data from several student writings contained in thesis documents, papers, journal articles and books published by IAIN Kediri, web pages, and others and trying to find the most popular variety of translations. The findings of the analysis conclude that the technique of determining the equivalent of words in the two translations is exactly the same, namely using the generalization technique on the word institute, the reduction technique in the translation of Islamic religious words, the literal technique on the word Negeri and the borrowing technique which is naturalized on the word Kediri. Syntactic analysis concludes that there is a grammatical gap in the first translation model due to the use of a literal method that is oriented to the source text. While in the second translation model there is no grammatical gap, because the translation uses transmutation techniques so that the translation results have a pattern that is known in the target language.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: to know the similarities and differences of uslub al-majhûl in Arabic and uslub passive voice in English, by using a contrastive study analysis. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative, the theory used in analyzing the data is Miles and Huberman's theory, namely collecting data, selecting relevant data, presenting data, and concluding. The results of this study are: there are similarities and differences between the two uslubs. The equation is uslub al-majhul is a verb whose subject is discarded and replaced by nâib al-fâ'il, its purpose is to summarize the sentence, the subject is known, the subject is unknown, the subject is afraid, the subject is belittled and the subject is glorified. Uslub passive voice is a verb whose subject is not stated because it is unknown, or because it is vague, or because it is not obligatory to appear in a sentence. Both uslub uses transitive verbs. The difference is that Arabic has many analogies (wazan) to form the verb majhûl, whereas English has only two ways of forming past participles, namely by adding the word "ed" to the root verb and with an indefinite pattern called irregular verbs. In the al-majhûl uslub there is a nâib al-fail that does not have a passive uslub voice. In the uslub of passive voice, it is found that there are modal that are not included in the uslub al-majhûl. Arabic has ismiyah and fi'liah sentences while English only has ismiyah sentences.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the daily test items in Arabic class III SD Muhammadiyah Sidoarum Yogyakarta, in terms of the different power of the questions and the difficulty level of the questions. This research is a quantitative research because the research data is in the form of numbers and uses statistical analysis in the excel application. This research data collection by means of observation and documentation. Data analysis using the excel application program AnBuSo (Questionnaire Analysis) version 5. The results of the study show that the process of composing Arabic questions is not good, because the teacher does not pay attention to the stages used in the preparation of the questions so that the difference between the questions and the difficulty level of the questions is not balanced, and the teacher does not make the syllabus. Then the daily test questions in Arabic for grade III SD Muhammadiyah Sidoarum Yogyakarta, have 25 multiple choice questions, 6 match questions, 6 dot term questions, and 6 circle questions that match the correct words according to the picture. for multiple choice questions number 5,6,11, and 12 the difference power coefficient of 0.000 shows that the difference power of the questions is not good because they cannot differentiate the students' ability in answering the questions.then question number 5 the difficulty level coefficient of 0.000 difficult category. Problem numbers 6, 11, and 12 difficulty level coefficients for 1,000 easy categories. It is better if questions number 5,6,11 and 12 are deleted because they have unbalanced power of question difference and difficulty level. and for the description of the difference in power and the level of difficulty it is good, because there are no coefficients of 0,000 and 1,000.
