Abstract

Palliative care cannot be done by just anyone, because it must involve a special team such as doctors, nurses, and other medical experts who are professionals in the field of palliative specialization. The purpose of this study is to be able to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and the attitude of nurses about palliative care to the characteristics in the Subang Regency Regional Hospital. The research design used is Cross Sectional. The sample in this study was 76 respondents. Univariate, bivariate data analysis using chi square and multiple logistic regression multivariates. The results showed that the variables that had a meaningful relationship with nurse actions in valiative care were variables of age, education, knowledge, and attitudes with a p value of < 0.05. Of the four variables, there is a chance of palliative care implementation of 67.5%. It is necessary to improve knowledge and attitudes in the field of palliative care for nurses who provide palliative care through special education.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that is often found with diabetic foot wounds. Diabetic foot ulcers can occur partially (Partial Thickness) or completely (Full Thickness) in the skin area that extends to the subcutaneous tissue, tendons, muscles, bones or joints. DM patients with diabetic foot wounds require long-term care to recover. The purpose of this study was to explore several wound care techniques both modern and conventional. This study uses electronic databases from PubMed, Google Scholar, and Garuda. The inclusion criteria of the articles in this study are: publications in 2015 – 2020, full text, articles using English or Indonesian, and research methods using experimental studies with full text PDF format. Found 4 studies with details of 1 case study methods, 1 quasi-experimental method, and 2 observation method. All articles were analyzed using the PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparator, Outcome) method. After treating diabetic foot wounds through TIME management, it has been found that modern therapeutic methods show a significantly higher rate of diabetic foot wound healing compared to conventional therapeutic methods for various types of diabetic foot wounds. Thus, DM patients with diabetic foot wounds can recover through wound care using dry and moist principles where modern wound care techniques are more effective than conventional treatment techniques (using sterile gauze).

Abstract

Self-efficacy has 3 dimensions that are closely related to readiness to care, namely the dimensions of magnitude (difficulty), dimensions of generality (expectations), and dimensions of strength (strength). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family self-efficacy and readiness to care for family members after orthopedic surgery at Meuraxa Hospital, Banda Aceh. This type of research uses a descriptive correlation design with a cross sectional approach. This study uses the Chi-Square correlation method with = 0.05. The study was conducted by distributing questionnaires to the patient's family. The results of this study indicate the P-value = 0.000 < = 0.05, meaning that there is a significant relationship between family self-efficacy and readiness to care for family members after orthopedic surgery in the Al-Bayyan Room, Raudah and Orthopedic Poly Hospital Meuraxa Banda Aceh. Based on the results of the study, it can be said that if the self-efficacy of the patient's family is high, it will make the family ready to care for or the higher the self-efficacy, the more readiness of the family to care for. This research is expected to be useful for post-surgical patients, health workers, hospitals and educational institutions in order to improve evaluation.

Abstract

Neonatal tetanus infection and umbilical cord infection (omphalitis) are the main causes of morbidity and mortality in infants throughout the country, especially in Southeast Asia due to improper umbilical cord care. Umbilical cord care is carried out after the neonate is born until the umbilical cord is released with great care, attention and care to prevent infection in the umbilical cord. The purpose of this study was to describe the results of implementing the implementation of umbilical cord care with the open method in neonates. This type of research method uses a case study by applying the open method of umbilical cord care to determine the timing of the release of the umbilical cord. The results of the condition of the neonate's umbilical cord Ny. A and Mrs. T has not been released, before the umbilical cord is treated with an open method. While the condition of the neonate's umbilical cord, Ny. A and Mrs. T has been released, after the open method of umbilical cord treatment with the release of the umbilical cord in the neonate Ny. A was released on the 4th day, quickly (umbilical cord detachment time <5 days) and the neonate Mrs. T loose on day 5, normal (time of umbilical cord detachment 5-7 days). Based on the results of the final evaluation, there are differences in the development of the umbilical cord release time before and after being given the open method of umbilical cord care.

Abstract

Type II Diabetes Mellitus due to a decrease in sensitivity to insulin (insulin resistance) or due to a decrease in the amount of insulin produced. Complications of patients with type II diabetes mellitus include diabetic foot ulcers, where diabetic ulcers can be done by doing good foot care. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge and behavior of foot care in patients with type II diabetes mellitus at the Gondang Health Center. The research method uses descriptive quantitative. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 57 respondents. The research instrument used a Diabetic Foot Knowledge Scale (DFKS) foot care knowledge questionnaire and a Nottingham Assessment of Functional Footcare (NAFF) foot care behavior questionnaire. The analysis used is univariate analysis with frequency distribution. The results of the univariate test showed that with type II Diabetes Mellitus 37 respondents (64.9%) had poor knowledge, 41 respondents (71.9%) had poor behavior. The conclusion of the study was that the majority of respondents had poor foot care knowledge and behavior due to lack of information about diabetic foot care.
