Abstract

The growing evidence and technology in healthcare improve the patient's health across a continuum of services in clinical and community settings. A multidisciplinary team should work in tandem on this phenomenon. Therefore, innovative healthcare technology must be designed intensively to optimize productivity, provide new insight, and support the standard treatment for particular diseases. In the coming years, technology is needed to change the way of caring for the patient. Updated studies should be developed and published focusing on innovative technology, including in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and other health-related topics. Abstract

Chronic disease is a long term disease. Treatment performed by patients is also routine and continuous to achieve therapeutic success as well as to avoid complications that can be occurred. Adherence is an important factor to reduce complications of chronic disease. There are some efforts that need to do to increase compliance, such as providing information about drug usage from health providers. The use of technology can also be an option as a facility to increase compliance, such as using audiovisual media as an additional means of providing information and short message services or a mobile application for medication reminders on smartphones. This article provides an overview of the role of technology in increasing adherence to patients especially those who are suffering from chronic disease. This article is based on a literature study from some literature or research results. The reviewed literature shows that the use of video in providing information about drugs, sending short messages, and the use of mobile medication reminders to take medication has an effect on increasing adherence significantly in chronic disease patients. The use of technology is effective and efficient in increasing adherence of chronic disease patients.

Abstract

Patient adherence during the treatment period must be considered because patient adherence plays an important role in achieving therapeutic success, especially for chronic diseases. Treatment non-adherence is a common and complex problem. Failure to follow a treatment schedule can lead to major health complications, including death. Several interventions are needed to control patient non-adherence. Several interventions can support and improve patient adherence. These include digital interventions, increasing patient knowledge and understanding of the treatment undertaken with counseling, and Drug Information Services (PIO). They provide educational leaflets, digital pillbox reminders, Pill Cards; family support; diaries; keeping treatment commitments. Based on this, it is necessary to have an intervention method in terms of education (educational), behavior (behavior), and attitude (affective) to achieve patient adherence and the success of chronic disease therapy. Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is abdominal pain caused by uterine cramps that occur during menstruation. The pain is caused by the onset of menstruation and lasts several hours to several days until it reaches the peak of pain. However, many people still do not know about the management of dysmenorrhea. This causes an increase in abdominal pain which often interferes with daily activities. Therefore, this review is structured to describe the various treatments for dysmenorrhea. The results of this review can be used as part of the education of patients who complain of dysmenorrhea and also as an innovation development in the field of reproductive health.

Abstract

The health manifesto highlighted that studies on innovation flourish when all sides of the knowledge triangle (research, academia, and industry) work in tandem to enhance the quality of care. This opportunity should go much better than implementing theoretical and academic work in universities worldwide. Experts are developing health innovation in higher education to deal with this situation. Therefore, this preface from two experts in the field encourages the importance of publishing studies on innovation in health to reduce health problems and issues in healthcare services in clinical or community practice. Abstract

COVID-19 impacted the life and health of people worldwide including the healthcare team in Hospitals. As a consequence, this situation disturbs the healthcare systems along with the care provider such as nurses fighting as the frontlines to save the patient’s lives. Exploring the issues during their work time will support them and lead an innovative strategy on how to improve the outcome and reduce the morbidity among nurses. This paper explored the nurses’ experience when taking care of patients with COVID-19 infection in the Intensive Care Unit of Mental Health Hospital “Prof. Soerojo” Magelang, City. It is hoped that this article will encourage the nurses to keep helping the patient, endlessly.

Abstract

Providing home care to older people remains challenging in Asia countries such as Japan. The different cultures lead nurses to assist in different ways of care. As a nurse from abroad, delivering nursing care in other country need specific skills and knowledge to optimize the care. In addition, innovation is also needed for its efficiency during elderly care. Hopefully, this experience will motivate nurses to work in-home care service with heart instead of relocating to a retirement or long-term care facility as they get older. "Ageing in place" refers to remaining in the familiar surroundings of your home for as long as is physically possible. If you only need minimal assistance with your day-to-day activities, have a tight network of family and friends in the area, and can utilize the appropriate home care services to cover your needs, staying in your home as you age may be a reasonable option. Investigate the various services at your disposal. You can determine whether or not remaining in your home as you age is the most advantageous way to keep your independence and make the most of your golden years. Abstract

Working as a nurse in another country is very interesting as many healthcare systems need to be learned. A few patients have a specific disease requiring innovative approaches to reduce adverse outcomes. In this article, we explained our experience being nurses in Brunei Darussalam. Patients transition from highly supportive medical environments filled with the possibility of a large number of physicians, nurses, aides, and other professionals to non-medical environments filled with formal and informal carer support that is frequently supplemented by visits from home care nurses when they leave the hospital and return home with home nursing care. Patients and carers may have difficulty making sense of the information provided to them by different clinicians before being discharged from the hospital and by home care nurses. This information can often be inconsistent. Providers, for their part, frequently have an incomplete awareness of the patient's home environment and the skills of both the patient and the carer. Despite these challenges, patients are most expected to care for themselves and be actively involved in their treatment to the extent necessary to own and control their medical problems. Abstract

The spread of COVID-19 infection is still being an awareness for nurses working in the Hospital. As documented, several nurses were exposed to that infection leading to increased prevalence. To prevent this, innovation must be made to optimize care and reduce infection rates. This clinical experience highlighted the importance of creating personal protective equipment. Also, the recommendation is provided mainly for the stakeholder to increase the production and the availability of that equipment. Abstract

Green tea leaves contain many polyphenols and antioxidants that can reduce cell damage and prevent premature ageing. Green tea extract is made in gel preparation to make it easier to use and increase convenience. HPMC base with propylene glycol additives can increase drug release and penetration into the skin. This study aims to optimize HPMC and propylene glycol levels in green tea extract gel formulations using the D-optimal method and calculate the total release of polyphenols using the Franz diffusion cell method. The extract is produced by infundation. The gel preparation was formulated by varying HPMC and propylene glycol levels in the manufacturing process. Each gel was evaluated for its physical properties, namely viscosity test, pH test, and dispersion test. The physical properties data obtained were then analyzed using Design-Expert software in the mixture design program to get the optimum formula. The optimum procedure brought was HPMC with a concentration of 6% and propylene glycol with a concentration of 17%, resulting in the best correlation between viscosity, dispersion, and pH, with a desirability value of 0.921. In the green tea gel preparation, the resulting concentration was 8.00 GAE/g sample, and the gel content was released at 360 min. was 3.30 GAE/g sample.
