Abstract

Workshop on writing scientific articles to improve teachers' professional competence at UPT SDN 03 Simpang. The aim of this activity is (1) to provide (sharing) training and assist elementary school teachers in writing scientific articles appropriately and (2) to increase insight and improve the skills of elementary school teachers in writing scientific articles and publishing them in scientific journals. This community service activity was carried out for UPT SDN 03 Simpang teachers. There were 12 participants in the activity. The methods used in this training activity are lectures and discussions, guidance and training, and consultation. Lecture and discussion methods convey information about scientific articles, theories about scientific articles, their benefits, and theories about writing them. Guidance and training methods are used to follow up to finalize the material presented in lectures and discussions. It is hoped that with direct practice, participants will be more skilled at writing scientific articles. The consultation method is used as a means of guidance in the field if they still experience difficulties in writing scientific articles. This training activity was carried out several times, which can provide input and benefits, including (1) elementary school teachers receive training and assistance in writing scientific articles and matters related to scientific articles, and (2) insight and skills elementary school teachers improved in writing scientific articles.

Abstract

Evaluation tools must reflect the learning objectives in the curriculum so that evaluation results provide an accurate picture of student achievement. This workshop aims to provide training in developing learning evaluation instruments in elementary schools. Learning instruments are currently very much needed by students because, with these learning instruments, they can measure the level of students' liking for subjects. The instrument that will be developed contains questions of factual knowledge based on a grid of essential competencies, assessment indicators, and cognitive domains, the learning themes for class IV students. Teachers and prospective teachers are in the training for developing learning instruments in elementary schools. PKM activities are carried out synchronously (virtually) or asynchronously at different places and times using a service learning approach. The service results show that the material meets the needs of elementary school teachers to improve their professionalism, especially in making learning instruments.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah bagaimana optimalisasi ruang membaca di MI AL Kawtsar Panti Jember dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dari para siswa. Ruang membaca ini adalah ruang perpustakaan dengan tujuan para siswa saat memasuki ruang perpustakaan akan lebih tertarik dengan bagaimana penataan buku, jenis buku-buku yang menarik selain buku pelajaran dan suasana yang nyaman sehingga kemampuan literasi mereka akan lebih meningkat. Sasaran dari ruang membaca ini adalah semua siswa dari kelas satu sampai kelas enam. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan didasari oleh keluhan para guru yang mengajar disana dikarenakan para siswanya banyak yang tidak tuntas saat di adakannya ulangan harian karena daya ingin membaca siswa kurang sehingga tidak bisa mengingat-ingat pelajaran yang sudah disampaikan gurunya. Padahal untuk buku pelajaran pegangan siswa itu sudah ada. Ruang membaca ini tidak hanya dikhususkan untuk pelajaran umum di kelas tetapi juga bacaan-bacaan yang mengandung hiburan misalnya buku cerita dan yang lainnya sehingga siswa bisa tertarik dalam kegiatan literasinya. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah siswa mulai bersemangat mengunjungi perpustakaan meskipun ada jadwal tertentu setiap kelasnya. Adanya buku-buku baru dan suasana yang nyaman menambah semangat siswa, sehingga tujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi dapat tercapai.

Abstract

The generation of elementary school students dropping out of school is still a massive phenomenon in Matang Segarau village. So that it becomes a highlight and priority for villages that make extra efforts to overcome this problem. According to village data, 28 people who did not attend school were still found. Apart from that, in terms of education, there were 120 graduates from elementary school (SD), followed by second-place graduates from junior high school (SMP) with 105 people. This data shows that graduates at the 9 (nine) year Compulsory Education level are still low. This means that the higher the education, the fewer people have it. Solving this problem is a joint task for all stakeholders in the Matang Segarau village, attracting the author to conduct research in this village, intended to solve the problems that occur. The research method used is a qualitative empirical study method (field research) by identifying problems that occur directly at the location. Using a qualitative approach and data collection techniques through observation and interviews. The purpose of this research is to determine the factors that cause students to drop out of school, then the factors that cause a lack of motivation to learn, and obstacles in the learning process of elementary school students by formulating strategies to increase learning motivation in elementary school students so that they want to continue their studies to higher education. So, the results of this research are hoped to solve problems and be a solution in efforts to overcome elementary school dropouts in Matang Segarau village, Tekarang District, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province.

Abstract

Disaster preparedness training in Sirna Jaya Village is important to protect the community from the negative impacts of disasters. In this training, participants learn first aid and risk reduction through different types of disasters. This disaster first aid training involves expert lecture sessions, experience-sharing discussions, focus group discussions, and disaster simulations. After the training, weekly monthly monitoring and evaluation were conducted through interviews, group discussions, and direct observation. Evaluation data is used to evaluate programs and provide recommendations for the development of similar programs in the future. The evaluation results showed positive changes in individual and group preparedness, proving the effectiveness of this training. This training increases knowledge and builds the foundation of resilient and disaster-ready communities.

Abstract

This activity aims to foster an understanding of the urgency of education in the future and foster a spirit of motivation to go to college and not give up on the situation. The low understanding of adolescents about the importance of learning for future success is the main factor in this service. This service is in addition to many community members who experience economic difficulties, especially for their children's educational needs. This service activity took respondents from 45 young men/women from Sungai Alai village. This service is carried out with a descriptive method consisting of planning stages, implementation, and evaluation. The method in this service is through counseling for all male/female adolescents, which begins with distributing questionnaires to all village adolescents and closes with the delivery of material and discussion. This service activity produces and can increase the motivation of college-interest adolescents; this is indicated by the number of participants who are very enthusiastic about following it so that they get enlightenment from the obstacles they have experienced. The results of the service that we have done obtained results of 28, 40% answering strongly agree, 31.17% answering agree, 28.59% answering less agree, and 11.85% answering strongly disagree % with details of 36 statements and 4 answers, namely strongly agree, agree, less agree, and strongly disagree.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) was carried out at SDN 103/II Tanjung Agung, Muara Bungo Regency. Partner problems are (1) Lack of student activity in speaking, (2) Lack of self-confidence and courage in the learning process in class. (3) Teachers do not interact enough with students and do not use exciting and varied learning models. This PKM aims to provide solutions for partners, namely teachers at SDN 103/II Tanjung Agung, Muara Bungo Regency, to increase the effectiveness of speaking skills using the elementary school paired storytelling model. The method for implementing PKM is carried out by (1) Lecture Method, (2) Learning discussions, and (3) Simulation of the effectiveness of speaking skills using the elementary school paired storytelling model. The PKM results were a workshop on the effectiveness of speaking skills using the elementary school paired storytelling model. The results of the participant response sheet stated that the results were very good, especially for class teachers, so that learning has variations in utilizing learning models.

Abstract

Provinsi Jambi merupakan salah satu penghasil produksi kelapa yang cukup besar yaitu sebesar 48 % pada tahun 2021. Karena produksinya yang besar sehingga limbah yang dihasilkan pun melimpah. Limbah yang kotor dan bertumpukan membuat lingkungan menjadi kotor dan tidak sehat. Melihat  permasalahan tersebut kami para mahasiswa melaui Program Mahasiswa Wirausaha berinisiatif untuk memanfaatkan limbah batok kelapa agar dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi sebuah kerajinan tangan yang bernilai jual dan nilai seni tinggi. Olahan kerajinan  tangan dari batok kelapa tersebut diberi nama BATOKU Jambi dengan kerajinan yang dihasilkan yaitu berupa gantungan kunci, kalung, cincin, dan hiasan meja yang memiliki ciri khas dengan mengangkat kearifan lokal daerah Jambi yaitu Tugu Keris Siginjai dan Angso Duo. Dengan adanya pemanfaatan limbah batok kelapa menjadi usaha ini diharapkan bisa memberikan manfaat baik bagi masyarakat, mahasiswa maupun pembaca.

Abstract

Regional tourism promotion can be done with SEO, but in the context of regional tourism promotion in Bandar Lampung City, it is known that the constraints are on the skills and knowledge of youth groups to apply SEO. This activity aims to (1). Increase the content of knowledge possessed by youth groups in supporting regional tourism promotion, and (2). Improve the skills of youth groups in applying SEO for the benefit of regional tourism promotion. This activity is carried out with a training method that presents material related to knowledge about SEO applications and strengthening skills in using SEO applications. The target audience involved 15 young people who actively use social media and digital tourism campaigns. Based on the qualitative evaluation conducted, participants of regional tourism promotion activities were satisfied and felt that the activities were in accordance with their needs. Almost all participants actively participated in the discussion, so it can be concluded that the activity has achieved the expected goals and objectives.

Abstract

The implementation of this community service is motivated by the role of teachers, which has not had an optimal impact in efforts to prevent sexual violence against elementary school students. Several things become obstacles in implementing sexual violence prevention, including teachers not being brave and taboo, teachers not understanding, and teachers not having educational and integrative strategies. One way to prevent violence against elementary school students is through media-based sexual psychoeducation that is integrated into learning. The Muara Bungo Muhammadiyah University service team conducted socialization on applying sexual psychoeducation to teachers at SD 196/II Taman Agung. Service activities use practical methods by means of simulations with direct assistance from the service team, which begins with material delivery. The series of activities were carried out in the meeting room and continued with the simulation in the classroom. The methods used during the service are lectures, discussions, simulations, and reflection. The result of implementing this service is that teachers gain a new understanding of the importance of sexual psychoeducation given from an early age; teachers can create and use media that contain elements of sexual psychoeducation according to the child's age and obtain strategies for applying appropriate language and tone according to the student's age so that learning with sexual psychoeducation content indeed leads to denotative.
