Abstract

The colloid system is a chemical material that is studied in class XI SMA/ MA in even semester. This material is close to everyday life, especially the nature, example, and requires practicum. Therefore, one of the learning strategies that can be used is contextual. The aim of the research is to produce an integrated LKPD for contextual-based practicum with a REACT component and determine the validity and practicality categories of teaching materials. The type of research is research and development (R&D) with a 4-D model, namely define, design, and develop, while the dissaminate stage is not carried out. The research data were analyzed using the Aiken’s V formula. Based on the analysis of the validity test questionnaire by 3 lecturers and 2 chemistry teachers, it was found that the LKPD was valid (0,86). The results of the analysis of the practicality questionnaire given to 3 chemistry teachers had a very practical category (92,30%) and the results of the questionnaire analysis given to 36 students of class XI had a very practical category (84,40%). Abstract

Education today demands student-centered learning. With the PowerPoint-iSpring learning media containing prompting questions, it helps students find the concept of a material so that students can play an active role in learning. With the advantages of this learning media, students can learn independently wherever and whenever. PowerPoint-iSpring learning media uses a trigger feature that provides feedback when students answer true/false on the prompting questions that have been provided. This study aims to develop integrated PowerPoint-iSpring learning media Prompting Questions on Compound Nomenclature Material for Class X SMA/MA and determine the level of validity of the developed media. This study uses the Plomp research model to be carried out until prototype 3 (one to one evaluation and expert review). The subjects in the study were chemistry lecturers at FMIPA UNP and SMAN 1 Painan teachers as material expert validators, FT UNP engineering lecturers as media expert validators, and class X and XI students at SMAN 1 Painan for the 2020/2021 academic year. The instruments used in this study were validation questionnaires (for material experts and media experts) and interview sheets. The results of the experimental data processing of the validity test using the Aiken's V formula showed that the PowerPoint-iSpring learning media integrated prompting questions on the compound nomenclature material developed was valid for each item on the content, construct, and media components.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP students’ chemical literacy ability on reaction rate topic according to two theoretical frameworks, that is definition of chemical literacy adapted by Shwartz and levels of scientific literacy developed by Bybee and BSCS. This descriptive research is a quantitative study involving samples of 48 XI grade science students. Data is obtained from a chemical literacy test, then analyzed with the Rasch model. The results showed that students dominated three lowest literacy levels, that is functional scientific literacy (36%), scientific illiteracy (28%), and nominal scientific literacy (22%). Rasch analysis showed that 91.7% of students have negative measure scores with mean of students’ measure scores 1.07 logit. This indicates that students' chemical literacy ability on reaction rate topic are low.

Abstract

Chemistry is a tricky subject because it is abstract and complex so, students have difficulty learning. Understanding it can be explained by three levels of chemical representation, namely macroscopic-, submicroscopic and symbolic. Learning media help teachers convey material quickly and make the material good because it contains exciting features. One of them is PowerPoint-iSpring which has a question feature. Prompting questions involve students more actively because they direct students to form thinking processes. Chemical equilibrium is a complex subject to understand. The study aims to develop an integrated PowerPoint-iSpring instructional media for prompting in class XI SMA/MA and determine the level of validity of the media developed using the Plomp model. The research subjects were SMAN 7 Padang teachers, UNP chemistry lecturers, and UNP IT lecturers as content validators, constructors, and media experts. The object of this research is thelearning media for PowerPoint-iSpring integrated prompting questions. The research instrument was a validation questionnaire and an interview sheet. This research was only carried out until prototype 3 due to time constraints. The results of the analysis of the validity test in stage I obtained the Aiken's V value < 0.8 invalid category in content analysis, constructs, and Aiken’s V value < 0,92 invalid category in media expert assessments so that stage II validation was carried out where all components obtained the results of Aiken's V value > 0.8 valid category in content analysis, construct, and Aiken’s V value > 0,92 valid category in media expert.

Abstract

Electrolysis cell material is a chemical material that requires a correct understanding of the concept because it has a fairly high level of abstraction. The abstraction of a material presented can be helped by using media that can display three levels of chemical representation. PowerPoint-iSpring as a learning media can contain text, images, videos, animations and quizzes to help students understand chemistry. This study aims to develop PowerPoint-iSpring learning media on electrolysis cell material for class XII SMA/MA and determine the level of validity of the developed media. This study uses the Plomp research model to be carried out until the prototype stage 3 (one to one evaluation and expert review). The PowerPoint-iSpring learning media was validated by 5 material validators and 3 media expert validators. The research instrument used was a material validity sheet containing content validity and construct validity, as well as a media expert validity sheet. The results of the experimental data processing of the validity test used the Aiken's V formula. The results showed that the validity value of PowerPoint-iSpring learning media on the electrolysis cell material developed was valid for each item on the content, construct, and media components.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the categories of validity and practicality of the e-modules that have been produced. The type of research is classified as a 4-D model, which has four stages, namely the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The instruments used are a validation sheet and a practical sheet in the form of a questionnaire sheet. The resulting product was tested for validity by 5 validators, consisting of 3 lecturers majoring in chemistry at FMIPA UNP and 2 teachers from SMAN 1 Rao, Pasaman Regency. Practicality tests were carried out by 2 chemistry teachers along with 15 students in class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Rao, Pasaman District. Based on the validation results, the value of kappa moment (k) is 0.86. The practicality of teachers and students is then obtained by the average value of kappa moment (k) of 0.90 and 0.88. The value obtained indicates that the resulting e-module is categorized as very valid and practical.
