Abstract

This research is based on the weakness of the scientific literacy of Indonesian students and limitations of the teaching materials provided by schools in learning natural science. The effort that can be done is honorate the ability of scientific literacy of students and develop supplement teaching materials that can help students memorize the learning and improve the ability of scientific literacy. The aim of this research to develop a learning supplement in shape electronic pocket book (e-pocket book) of intergrated natural science contain scientific literacy on the material human respiratory system for student of SMP/MTs. The type of research conducted is research and development by using ADDIE model which is done only until the development stage due to the limitations of the researchers. The result of validity was 90,96% with chategori very valid, practicality by teachers was very practiced with value 98,37%, and by the students was very practiced with value 92,59%. This research shows that the e-pocket book was classified as valid and practical.

Abstract

Research on the PBL model has been done a lot, but research is generally carried out by interacting directly with students, while the research conducted by researchers is by reviewing literature related to PBL, this is due to the condition of the Covid-19 pandemic which causes the inability to conduct research directly with students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the application of the PBL model on the learning interest of students in secondary schools. The research method used is literature study by collecting related articles, with the same independent and dependent variables. The research data analysis in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The subject of this research is the researcher himself. The population of this study were all articles related to the effect of the use of PBL on students' learning interest, and the sample of this study were several research articles at least 5 with an S4 journal level. Based on data obtained from 5 articles that have been analyzed, each article shows an increase in interest in learning with the use of the PBL model with different results. The results obtained were the influence of the use of PBL in increasing students' interest in learning.

Abstract

Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic, learning in schools is being claimed to be less effective, as well as learning science in formal education. This is because face-to-face learning cannot be implemented between teachers and students at school. Teachers and students can only carry out learning online by Internet network. This study aims to determine the implementation, strengths and weaknesses that felt by teachers and students in online science learning at SMPN Lareh Sago Halaban. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. Sources of the data used are primary and secondary data sources. Data analysis techniques used are reduction, display, and conclusion / verification.Based on research that has been conducted through a questionnaire, that during distance learning (PJJ) there is still a lack of understanding of the concept of students towards science learning material and it is still not 100% well implemented.

Abstract

Advances in science and technology (IPTEK), especially information technology an communication. Affects various areas of life, including education. In the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government asks all students in Indonesia to study at House. This research was conducted to describe the effectiveness of distance learning in science subjects during COVID-19 at SMPN Koto XI Tarusan Subdistrict, Pesisir Selatan Regency on students' conceptual understanding. The research instrument used a questionnaire in the form of a link in google form. Data retrieval techniques, namely data reduction, display data, and conclusion drawing / verification. ly readiness for independent learning and looking for more learning resources without face to face in school. Face-to-face learning is still not applicable during the COVID-19 pandemic. Distance learning facilities and infrastructure as well as economic and technological conditions are factors that affect distance learning so that distance learning which is carried out online has not been effective.

Abstract

The scientific approach in the 2013 curriculum aims to improve intellectual abilities, especially students high level thinking skill, but in science learning, students thinking abilities to solve problems are still low and the application of science literacy is still not maximum. Developing an integrated science learning module based on problem solving and scientific literacy is one way to overcome this problem. The concept developed in this research is global warming. The aim of this research is to out science learning module valid and practical. In this study, the instrument used was a validation questionnaire that was filled in by two science education lecturers and two seventh class science teacher, while the practicality test was carried out by two science teachers and by students in a one to one and small group manner. The descriptive statistical analysis technique used in this study. Based on the data analysis conducted, the avarage validity value was 86,74. In the one to one stage it was 79,19, while according to the teacher and students the small group stage was 91,89 and 89,05. So in conclusion, the module developed is valid and practical for students to use as a source of independent learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the significant difference in mean scores on students' cognitive abilities between the control class given conventional learning and the experimental class given the STEM-based PBL learning model, and to see the effect of the STEM-based PBL learning model on the cognitive abilities of students in SMP Negeri 1 Basa Ampek Balai Tapan. This type of research is quasi-experimental (Quasi Experimental Research). The research design used was Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Basa Ampek Balai Tapan. The sample in this study was 30 people for each control and experimental class. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. In this study, there are two sample classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The instrument used in this study was a multiple choice written test. The data analysis technique used is the similarity of two means to determine differences in students' cognitive abilities. The results showed an increase in cognitive abilities in the experimental class. This is evidenced by the average posttest score of the experimental class which is higher than the control class and is supported by the hypothesis test carried out by the t-test, namely tcount (3.85)> ttable (1.67) at the real level α = 0 , 05 where dk = 60. Thus H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there is a significant effect of STEM-based PBL learning models on students' cognitive abilities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interest of students in science learning, and educators only use printed books and worksheets that are informative and also do not contain elements of local wisdom. Ethnoscience-based integrated science modules are able to increase students' interest in learning and guide students to learn independently using these modules. The purpose of this study was to produce an integrated science module based on ethnoscience with the theme of additives and addictive substances for SMP / MTs. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) developer research type using a 4-D model which consists of four stages, namely the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. This study used a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire for the responses of educators and students to the developed module, namely the ethnoscience-based integrated science module. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the modules that have been developed are included in the valid category with a value of 79.34%, the content competency variable gets a value of 79.25% with the valid category, the graphic variable gets a value of 82.38% very valid category, and language variables 76.67% included in the valid category.

One is the material to be developed is the chapter of the electronic book. As for the purpose of this research to develop a textbook integrated science electronic with approaches contextual on global warming materials for class VII junior participants. The kind of research used was to design research with using plomp model development. The data is qualitative and quantitative. Phase chapter electronic book phase chapter was validated by two people the validator who specialized in his field covered six aspects of worthiness, that is aspects of eligibility, compliance, worthiness of presentation, worthiness cropability, alignment, and contextual worthiness. At the stsge assessment electronic chapter book is evaluated witth an instrument evaluation one to one individual. This study result from nilai`s validity of 78,43% in valid categories. This is can be concluded that electronic chapter book integrated science with contextual approach to heating matter a global developed meets valid criteria.
