<![CDATA[Laboratorium activity and experiment related to Dynamic Electricity topic in secondary schools have always been a “scary” thing to science teachers in Indonesia, especially to those with more experience in teaching Biology than Physics. To our surprise, the problem was more related to teacher’s confidence to conduct lab acitivy rather than to the availability of experiment kit in school. Our visit to two schools in Padang revealed that each school has sufficient amout of experiment kit for Electricity but the science teachers were too scared to take students to lab and get nervous when something is not working, or too scared to damage the kit. Therefore, we would like to offer a solution to overcome this problem by intoducing an easy do-it-yourself simpe electricity circuit with potato. The activity is expected to build more confidence in teachers to conduct lab activity and make science learning more fun to the students. <![CDATA[To improve the quality of learning and reflect on learning outcomes are things that really improve science teacher profesionalism. That is the biggest motivation for Universitas Negeri Padang’s community service team to make a training session about science learning on Padang Pariaman’s. Understanding the classroom action reaserch, science teachers can solve the learning problems and write their own scientific work. The purpose of this training are teachers can make their own classroom action research and do their own research untill they can make theirown journals. The result shows that the training was good and reach the target that reaserchers make. 16th proposal finished are more than enough. Proposal are the result from traning, with a lot of revition before the proposal really finished.]]>

<![CDATA[PP No. 74 of 2008 states that salary is the right that is received by the teacher for his work from the education provider or education unit in financial form on a regular basis in accordance with statutory regulations. Based on Ministerial Regulation (Permen) no. 19 of 2009 which states that promotion or class must use scientific work, and it would be better if the scientific work can be published, where one of the scientific works that can be made by teachers can be Classroom Action Research (CAR), where research should not foreign to the teacher, where by researching the teacher can really solve a problem that occurs in students who are in the teacher's education, however, if it only stops until writing a CAR report, of course the results of the research will be unfortunate because it is not published, so that it cannot be a reference for further research or cannot motivate teachers from other regions to carry out research. By writing scientific articles and publishing these articles in scientific journals nationally and internationally it will certainly be able to share knowledge for allied researchers and be a motivation for other teachers to carry out research and publish the results of the research. The results of the field research show that science teachers are still very taboo about writing scientific articles, especially the publication of scientific articles that have been made. The survey shows that only a portion of natural science teachers have implemented CAR, and less than a quarter of these teachers have written scientific articles. It can be concluded that writing scientific articles is very much needed and must be carried out by teachers especially science teachers. So that later teachers can always carry out research on a regular basis.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract: The research purpose is to analyse the needs of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematic (STEM)-based science practicum books for secondary school. This is descriptive qualitative research with questionnaire and interview methods. The sample of this research were secondary school science teacher and students. The data were analysed descriptively with the results of data processing in percent (%). The results showed that 98% of secondary school science teachers did not know that STEM-based practicum activities could train 21st century students' skills and 90% of secondary school students stated that they never carried out practicum activities other than laboratory activities. The results also shows that 75% of students do not have science practicum book and only have worksheets provided when carrying out practicum activities. Furthermore, the results of the study also showed that 70% of students stated that practicum activities were not discussed deeply when they entered the class. It can be concluded that there is an urgency to develop a STEM-based science practicum book to that can practice students' 21st century skills in facing the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kebutuhan buku praktikum IPA berbasis Science Technology Engineering and Matematic (STEM) untuk sekolah menengah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode angket dan wawancara. Sampel penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa IPA SMP. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan hasil pengolahan data dalam persen (%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 98% guru IPA sekolah menengah tidak mengetahui bahwa kegiatan praktikum berbasis STEM dapat melatih keterampilan siswa abad 21 dan 90% siswa sekolah menengah menyatakan tidak pernah melakukan kegiatan praktikum selain kegiatan laboratorium. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa 75% mahasiswa tidak memiliki buku praktikum IPA dan hanya memiliki LKS yang disediakan saat melaksanakan kegiatan praktikum. Selanjutnya hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa 70% mahasiswa menyatakan bahwa kegiatan praktikum tidak dibahas secara mendalam ketika memasuki kelas. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada urgensi untuk mengembangkan buku praktikum sains berbasis STEM yang dapat melatih keterampilan abad 21 mahasiswa dalam menghadapi era revolusi industri 4.0.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of high intensity interval training (HIIT) on the body fat percentage of menopausal women with obesity. This research method was quasi-experimental. The research design carried out was the pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The results obtained before and after the treatment were both normally distributed and homogeneous. Then independet sample t-test carried out with the result that there was significant difference between the control and experimental groups. In conclusion, high intensity interval training (HIIT) had a significant impact on the fat percentage of menopausal women with obesity. Keywords: HIIT, Obesity, Menopause.]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, dengan tujuan yakni menganalisis kebutuhan kurikulum dalam pengembangan bahan ajar fisika termal terpadu berbasis high order thinking . Kurikulum dianalisis berdasarkan kurikulum jurusan pendidika IPA Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Padang. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah analisis deskripsi. Hasil yang diperoleh memperlihatkan bahwa pada kurikulum jurusan pendidikan IPA, membutuhkan bahan ajar fisika termal terpadu, hal tersebut dikarenakan jurusan IPA merupakan jurusan baru yang memiliki tujuan untuk menghasilkan guru IPA yang dapat menguasai pembelajaran IPA secara terpadu, sehingga pembelajaran fisika termal haruslah disajikan secara terpadu diamana tidak hanya berat kepada konten fisika saja, namun memadukan konten biologi dan kimia. Pada bahan ajar juga diperlukan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi, agar mahasiswa terbiasa membahas soal dan memiliki pola pikir tingkat tinggi.]]>

<![CDATA[Penulisan artikel ilmiah sangatlah penting untuk guru, dimana dengan melaksanakan penulisan artikel ilmiah ini guru dapat mengembangkat kompetensi perofesional dan terus mengasah motivasi diri untuk terus memperbaharui pengetahuan. Tidak hanya itu, penulisan artikel ilmiah juga menjadi salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan sebagian besar guru berhenti hingga golongan IVA, karena untuk menaikan golongan guru membutuhkan penulisan karya ilmiah yang telah dipublikasi di jurnal ber-ISSN. Hasil penelitian memperliihatkan bahwa 100% guru menginginkan diadakannya pelatihan penulisan artikel ilmiah, agar dapat membantu dalam memulai penulisan artikel ilmiah mandiri.]]>

<![CDATA[Afer 9 month doing online learning, a lot of things can happen in learning and teaching process. The purpose of this research is to know the respond of middle school science teacher to online learning during COVID 19 outbreak. This is a descriptive qualitative research with questionnaire as the research instrument. The sample are 35 middle school science teachers from MGMP IPA Kota Padang. The auestionnaire shows that most of the science teacher do an online learning through this year because of the COVID 19 Pandemis. Whatsaap is the most used application and online learning really helps the teacher with teaching. Furthermore, there are a lot of obstacle with online learning that science teacher faces during COVID 19 outbreak and most of the teachers hope that learning will continue face to face in the classroom.]]>

<![CDATA[Kemajuan teknologi informasi dan akses internet yang luas semakin memudahkan manusia untuk melakukan transaksi jual beli dimanapun dan kapanpun. Salah satu dampak dari kemudahan ini yang dikhawatirkan adalah semakin dianggap wajarnya gaya hidup komsumtif yang berlawanan dengan konsep gaya hidup hemat. Terbukanya kesempatan untuk mencari kemudahan dalam memenuhi kebutuhkan hidup cenderung membuat manusia mengabaikan aspek keilmuan dan kemampuan diri sendiri untuk berusaha lebih keras. Melalui pelatihan ini, kami bermaksud menumbuhkan semnagat wirausaha siswa SMP Kota Padang melalui pembuatan produk berbasis sains untuk sekaligus melatih keterampilan proses sains mereka. Sebanyak 114 siswa dari dua sekolah menengah pertama di kota Padang terlibat dalam pelatihan ini. Setiap kelompok siswa terlihat bersemangat menyiapkan dan mendesign label dan merek dagang untuk produk sabun yang dihasilkan. Feedback dari kegiatan pelatihan ini sangat positif karena 98.12% peserta menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini menyenangkan sekaligus meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang produk sabun cair cuci piring yang mereka gunakan sehari-hari.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this research is to know the efectiveness of online class on fudamental biophysics class during COVID 19 quarantine. The sample of this research are 70 undergraduate students that is Registered in the even semester of the 2019-2020 school year. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive using google form to collect the data. The result shows that online class on fundamental biohysics during COVID 19 quarantine is not effective. Data shows more than 80% students disagree of studying fundamental biophysic using online class. The data shows that more 50% students not motivated during online learning.]]>
