Abstract

This analysis is motivated by the large number of studies on the result of guided discovery (GDL) in relation to the research competencies with respect to students, especially in learning science (Natural Sciences). Based on the research article obtained that the low competency of students can be pursued by applying a learning design that requires students to be active during the research process. GDL is one of the interactive research models which encourages students to be central in the research process. GDL is effective to encourage the activeness of students in the research course, because this research model requires students to play an active part in conclusion their own knowledge with the guidance of the teacher. The view of that analysis was to look at the efficiency of the influence of GDL on the student competencies in science. That investigation is an expost facto study with descriptive data analysis. Based on the results of the investigation, the article found which the influence of guided discovery has a direct reaction on the competence of students in learning science

Abstract

Activities and critical thinking skills of students in science learning at SMPN 3 Padang still unable to make students solve the problems that given by the teacher, it is caused by several factors, such as the use of media and learning models that are not in accordance with the topic that the teacher gave. The solution to these problems is to integrate learning models and instructional media that are in accordance with the subject matter. One of them is developing student worksheet model of problem based learning oriented on critical thinking activities. The research model that we used is Research and Development (R&D) using a 4-D model consisting of four stages, they are the define, design, develop, and dessiminate step, but the dessiminate stage is not carried out due to time and cost limitations. Based on data analysis, the results of the student worksheet validity value of 91.27 are in the very valid category. So it can be concluded that the student worksheet model of problem based learning oriented on critical thinking activities is very valid to be used for grade VIII students of SMPN 3 Padang.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum is a refinement of the Education Unit Level curriculum (KTSP). The 2013 curriculum emphasizes the competencies that must be achieved are spiritual attitudes (KI-1), social attitudes (KI-2), and skills (KI-4). The 2013 curriculum uses a scientific approach, thus forming scientific behavior, social behavior and an attitude of curiosity. The teacher must take a variety of approaches so that the learning process takes place fun. LKPD teaching materials based on the Guided Discovery Learning model are used in the learning process because it can guide students in developing their own discovery concepts in a guided and directed way. Based on this research has been carried out with the aim of producing a LKPD based on a valid Guided Discovery Learning model. This research is a development study with a 4-D model which is only carried out up to 3 stages due to limitations, research is limited to the Define stage, design, Develop. The data collection instrument used was a validation questionnaire. The validation was carried out by 3 educational experts (lecturers) as the LKPD validator based on the Guided Discovery Learning model. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (percentages). The results showed that the average value of the validity of LKPD was 83.31% (valid category), both in terms of content worthiness, linguistic, presentation, and graphic. In this study practicality test was not carried out because all schools were closed and replaced with learning at home because of the co-19 pandemic so that researchers only carried out the validity stage.

Abstract

Science teachers in developing learning models not only aim to improve cognitive, affective and psychomotorik aspects, but also aspects of studenst critical thinking skills. Low learning outcomes and lack of interest in learning are the result of a lack of critical thinking skills. Teaching materials used by school are not oriented towards critical thinking activities so students are not trained in critical thinking. One solution to these problems is that in learning the teacher must use the right learning model and the right teaching material. The study aims to develop student work sheets guided inquiry model which is oriented towards critical thinking activities for grade VIII SMP/MTs and reveal the level of validity from the veloped Student work sheets. The type of research used is Research and Development model (R&D) using the Plomp development model. The Plomp development model consisting of three stages, they are preliminary research, prototyping phase, and assessment stage. In this study only research the prototyping phase with expert riview. The research instrument used was a questionnaire in the form of a validity sheet validated by four validators. Based on the results of the study found a validation value of 90% with a very valid category.

Abstract

The challenge in the science learning process that is often encountered is the independence of student learning and the weak preservation of the existing culture in the surrounding environment as a source of learning is still weak. Through the ethnoscience-based science module students will be able to learn independently in the environment where the student lives. Independent study in a residential environment will be able to form the character of students because they are immediately one with nature. The type of research used is Research and Development (R & D) using a 4-D model which consists of four stages, namely the Define, Design, Develop, and Dessiminate stages. This research is limited only to the develop stage, the dessiminate stage was not carried out due to time and cost limitations. The results of the analysis of the teacher's validity and practicality sheet showed that the average kappa moment score (k) was 0.81 and 0.90, respectively, with the very valid and practical categories. The data obtained shows that the ethnoscience-based Science Module on the theme of integrated living diversity character education for grade VII SMP is valid and practical.
