Abstract

Voluntary nurses is the nurses who provide health care voluntarily without expecting any fee. Caring behavior of voluntary nurses is the skill of voluntary nurses giving attention, empaty,and helping clients to fullfil their daily needs as long as voluntary nurses giving nursing care in hospital. The objective of the research was to explore deeply caring behavior of voluntary nurses to the client in Padangsidimpuan General Hospital. The research used phenomenological design. The data were gathered by conducting in-depth interviews. Purposive sampling technique was used to select the participants who had met the criteria. They consisted of 6 voluntary nursesin Padangsidimpuan General Hospital. The result of the interviews was recorded and analyzed by using content analysis. The result of the research showed that there were 4 themes which reflected the research phenomena. They were Voluntary Nurses care to the clients, Voluntary nurses doing holistic nursing care, Voluntary nurses respect clients, and The effects of caring behavior of voluntary nurses. It is recommended that the Voluntary nerses alwaysapply caring behavior to the client even though without recieve any fee. Keywords: Behavior, Caring, Voluntary Nurses, Client

Abstract

Introduction: The deviation problem of smoking activity an adolescent is come to anxious level for parents, teachers, and society. The correlation between parents nurture model and smoking activity of adolescent needs to be examined further. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between parents nurture model with smoking activity of adolescent (12-15 years old). Method: This was correlational research with cross sectional approach. The sample were 84 adolescent (12-15 years old) at MTs Mojosari Nganjuk. The independent variables was parents nurture model and the dependent variable was adolescent smoking activity. Data were collected by using questionnare, then examined by using chi square with the level of significant α=0,05. Result: Statistical analysis had showed the low correlation between permissive parents nurture model with smoking activity of adolescent (12-15 years old) at MTs Mojosari Nganjuk (p=0,049; r = 0,210) and no correlation between democratic nurture model (p=0,554) and authoritative nurture model (p=0,418) with smoking activity of adolescent (12-15 years old) at MTs Mojosari Nganjuk, but only permissive model which correlate with smoking activity. The permissive parents with no control and demand caused adolescent to be feeling unimpeded to do smoking activity since there is no warning and punishment from the parents. Discussion: So that, School nurses should provide health promotion to parents in making appropriate parenting in adolescence. Parents should have the right parenting provided in accordance with the age and development of adolescents because appropriate parenting will have a positive impact on adolescent behavior. Further research on parenting questionnaires must be checked for cross-compatibility between questionnaire answers given adolescent and parents to know the truth in filling out the questionnaire. The differences in this study compared to previous studies is the researcher doing research in the school semi islamic boarding school, while the previous study examined in formal school.Keywords: parent nurture model, smoking activity, adolescent

Abstract

Introduction: The prevalence of nutritional status problems with underweight in Indonesia at the moments is (19,6%). Data showed that children with less nutritional status aged 1-3 years in Kalijudan, Surabaya are existed. Provide feeding pattern properly is one effort to improve the nutritional status by fulfilling the needs of the child nutrition. The purpose of this study was to explain the relationship of feeding pattern and nutritional status in children aged 1-3 years in the Kalijudan district, Surabaya. Methods: The research design used was cross-sectional study with dietary habit as the independent variable and nutritional status as dependent variable. The sample was taken from 154 mothers and children. Consecutive sampling was deployed. Data collection by questionnaires, and then data analysis using the Spearman’s Rho in level  of significance α≤0.05. Result and Analysis: There was strong relationship between feeding pattern and nutritional status (r=0.640). The result showed that inappropriate feeding patterns with nutritional status is very thin (44.4%) a proper feeding patterns with normal nutritional status (89.7%).  Discussion and Conclussion: The efforts to improve nutritional status of children aged 1-3 years related to feeding patterns should be improved in order to achieve a normal nutritional status. Further research may explore on the feeding patterns based on dietary allowances.Keywords: feeding pattern, nutritional status, 1-3 years old children

Abstract

Nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system, being the key providers of primary healthcare as they comprise 60-80% of the total health workforce, and provide 90% of all heath care services in the primary healthcare arena.  This study aimed to evaluate the concordance  of family nursing and community health nursing curriculum with international standards and national needs for undergraduate nursing education in West Java.This study used evaluation research design using BEKA framework as a tool to perform curriculum analysis which included Benchmarking, Evidencing, Knowing, and Applying stages. The international standards competency for family nursing and community health nursing, course study guide and samples of students reports were collected and analysed using content analysis. In addition participants from six nursing schools were interviewed to identify application of the curriculums. The results show that some of the competencies outlined in the course study guide were not aligned with international standards of family nursing from International Family Nursing Association. Four dimensional framework of family nursing and community health nursing curriculums were proposed to improve the alignment between international standards as well as local and government needs for family nursing and community health nursing curriculums. School of nursing can apply this framework as guidance to develop their own learning plans based on international standards, national, local and institutional needs. Abstract

Introduction. Centralized drug is a management of the entire drug which is entirely done by nurses to administration to patients. Right medication is the process of right drug administration which is done by nurses based on 6 rights of medication, and wary of side effects. The purpose of this study was to analyze the corelation between centralized drug, team leadership, and nurse`s knowledge with right medication among nurses. Methods.The design of the study was descriptive corelational with cross-sectional approach. The population was inpatient nurses in RSUD Sidoarjo. Total sample was 114 respondents was selected by purposive sampling. The independent variables in this study: centralized drug, team leadership, and nurse`s knowledge. The dependent variable was right medication. Data were collected by using questionnares for independent variables and dependent variable. Data were analyzed by using Binary Logistic Regression with degree of significance α>0,05. Results. Binary Logistic Regression test showed non significance level between centralized drug with right medication (P=0.501), team leadership with right medication (P=0.874), and nurses`s knowledge with right medication (P=0.243). Discussion. This study concluded centralized drug, team leadership, and nurse`s knowledge were good. But, there are nurses that have negative value at right medication, however right medication in RSUD Sidoarjo has majority positive value. Keywords: centralized drug, right medication

Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy lead to changes in anatomical, physiological, and biochemical. Changes of it affect the nutritional needs of pregnancy. Knowledge and a bad attitude will affect the nutritional needs of pregnancy.  This research aims to know the affect of health promotion of the knowledge and attitude of mother in fulfillment of nutrition during pregnancy in Paberasan village. Method: The quasy experiment with pretest posttest control group design. The amount of pregnant in Paberasan village were 32 people. Analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test and Mann-Whitney. Result: The result showed that, the treatment group before given health promotion the majority have enough knowledge (81,25%). After given health promotion all of respondent have good knowledge (100%). The attitude of pregnant before given health promotion the majority have enough attitude (68,75%). After given health promotion the majority have good attitude (68,75%). In the control group before given health promotion the majority have knowledge enough (75%). The control group obtained the results of the knowledge tends to remain. The attitude of pregnant before given health promotion majority has enough attitude (62,50%). The control group obtained the result of the attitude tends to remain. Mann-Whitney test results obtained significant value p=0,000 less than 0.05. Attitude test results before and after treatment in the treatment group and the control group obtained significant value p = 0.001 less than 0.05. The results showed that there is effect of health promotion of the knowledge and attitudes of mothers in fulfillment of nutrition during pregnancy. Discussion: Health workers in Paberasan village to give health promotion about the fulfillment of nutrition during pregnancy to the community to help improve the knowledge of society and help realize the achievement of fulfillment of good nutrition during pregnancy. Keyword: Promotion, health, nutrition, pregnant, knowledge, attitudes, Paberasan, Sumenep

Abstract

Background and purpose: The earlier development of the attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding produces the longer exclusive breastfeeding duration. Considering the first marriage age among Indonesian, the attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding should be developed at the adolescence age. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the attitude toward breastfeeding concept based comic on the adolescent's attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding. Method: This was a quasy experimental posttest only with control group study. The respondents were provided an comic. The respondent's attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding was measured using The Breastfeeding Attitude Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using independent and dependent t test. Results: The majority of respondents were aged 17 years old in both intervention (70%) and control grup (63%), first child in both intervention (23,3%) and control grup (26,7%), and had a nuclear family in both intervention (80%) and control grup (90%). The independent t test showed that there was a significant difference between post-test scores among the intervention and control groups (t = 5,602, p < 0,01). Conclusion and recommendation: Nurses may use the Attitude Toward Breastfeeding based comic to increase the Adolescence's attitude toward breastfeeding.Keywords: Comic, Attitudes Toward Exclusive Breastfeeding, Adolescence

Abstract

Background and objectives. During this time the unit cost of clinical practice in hospitals that practice becomes a vehicle which has not been done calculation costing more Clinical practice based on estimates, propriety and comparison with the cost of clinical practices from other hospitals. The costing is sometimes caused problems. Currently the cost of student practice in teaching hospitals varies between Rp. 300,000 - Rp. 500,000 / person / month. The problem that exists is how the unit cost and how much it costs the right based on unit cost and other considerations that apply to students practice at the Hospital Clinic as a vehicle for clinical practice. The purpose of this study to determine the unit cost and set the cost of professional practice of nurses that will be proposed applicable professional nurses students at Hospital.Method. This research was a descriptive observational study by conducting a case study in the dr. Soewandhi hospital East Java. Calculation of unit cost carried by Activity Based Costing (ABC), costing more to do content analysis after conducting focus group discussions, as well as other considerations.Research result. The results using the ABC method showed that the unit cost to the cost of professional practice nurses in the hospital Dr. Soewandhi Surabaya is Rp. 460,000, - / month / person, while the cost of practice set by the RS Dr. Soewandhi is Rp. 1.200.000, - / month / person. There is a practice of the profession excess costs Rp. 740,000, -. RS Dr. Surabaya Soewandhi practice fees apply without using a standard based on the unit cost accordingly. Some educational institutions felt the cost was very heavy so the impact to the cancellation of the filing of the professional nurses student practice.Conclusions and recommendations. The hospital used a professional students practice nurses should use the standard fees in accordance with needs through precise calculations that the fees charged to students through educational institutions in accordance with the appropriate calculations.Keyword: ABC system - Profession nurses - Fee Practices

Abstract

Abstract The balance of body is one of the main factor in doing fungsional activity. In every activity, the body always need control of the body balance, because basically every phisic activity right static or dinamic will take someone on unstable position with big risk to having fell. Swiss Ball exercise as support is believed on labile surface will make spine have big chance to stabling the muscle between vebra and increase the dinamic balance to restrain the repeats stability. The research object to know The Effect of Swiss Ball Exercise toward The Body Balance to Less The Risk Fall of Older at UPT Social Service of Older and Children Under Five district Binjai and Medan in Year 2016. The research type is Quasi Experiment with pre test-post test one group only design method. Population in this research all of older at UPT Social Service district Binjai as much as 172 older with number of man is 81 and woman is 91, with Purposive sampling Technique that is 15 respondences. Data collecting using observation sheet with analysis that used is univariat: respondence characteristics, the body balance of older before and after doing Swiss Ball practice, and bivariat with Paired t-Test. The research result showing the average of body balance before doing Swiss Ball as much (Mean 38,07) and after (Mean 46,33). Conclusion: there is the effect of Swiss Ball toward body balance to less the risk fall of older (p=0,000 ; p=< 0,05). Sugessted for older to practice the balance himself more steady so that not easy to have risk fall further. Influenced, and for the next researcher can research about another factor that foregrounded the risk fall of older.Keywords    : Swiss Ball, Balance Exercise, Risk Fall
