Abstract

The Study  was  conducted to  know  relationship  between  stomach circumference and  mammary gland  volume on milk  production  ability  of  crossing  Ettawa  goat..  The  research  used descriptif  method, the  data  were  taken  from  27  of  females  goat  at  first  lactation.  Collected  data analyzed using  simple regression  methode.   The Results  showed  that correlation  coefficient  of  stomach  circumference  and mammary  gland  Volume  had  correlation  coefisien 0,660 higher  than  correlation  coefisien  of  stomach round 0,259. So mammary gland Volume can be used as to predict milk production.

Abstract

The  objective  of  the  study  was  to  observe  response  of  feeding Bali  cattle multi  mineral  block (MMB) as a feed supplement on the body weight gain of Bali cattle. Nine male Bali cattle aged between 1 – 1,5 years were allotted in the Randomized Block Design consisted of 3 treatments and 3 blocks of body weight.  Parameters  measured were  roughage  intake,  absolute  and  relative  body  weight  and  feed efficiency. .Result  of  this  experiment  shows  that feeding  MMB  has  influence  (  P  <  0,05  )  on  roughage intake and body weight gain ( P < 0,01 ).  Duncan multiple  range test shows that body weight gain of cattle feed treatment R 1 and R 2 was high than those had treatment R0. It can be concluded that feeding MMB as a supplement could increase body weight gain of Bali Cattle.

Abstract

The  objective  of  the study  was  to evaluate the  effect  of  concentrate  feeding  method  and  forage  on  PE  male  goat  productivity. Research  was  conducted  from October-December  2006 in  Satuan  Kerja Pembibitan  Ternak  Dinas  Sumber  Rejo, Kendal Regency.   Research  used 12 heads of post  weaning PE goat  with initial body  weight of 16.56  ±  2.64  kg.  Research  used  completely  randomized  design  (CRD) with  3  treatments  and  4  replications.  The  treatments  were (A) goat  given  concentrate together  with forage; (B) goat given concentrate and 2 hours afterward given forage; (C) goat given concentrate and 4 hours afterward given forage. Ratio consisting of  concentrate and field grass was given twice a day, in the morning and afternoon. Drinking water  was  given ad libitum.  Variable measured were dry matter (DM)  consumption,  average  daily  gain  (ADG) and feed  conversion. Result  of  the  research  showed  that DM  consumption,  ADG  and  feed  conversion in  every  treatment  shown  no  significance  (P  >0.05) statistically. However, treatment B tended to have higher ADG and lower feed conversion quantitatively. Treatments  A,  B  and  C  in  succession  showed  ration  consumption  of   698.01;  735.20  and  727.81 g/head/day; ADG of  44.08; 46.28 and 43.31 g/head/day, and feed convertiont  15.84; 15.89 and 16.81.

Abstract

The correlation between the progressive motility and sperm membrane totality  in frozen semen of Ongole with artificial insemination success. This  experiment was aimed to evaluated the characteristics of progressive  motility  and  spermatozoa  membrane    totality  of Ongole  cattle in  frozen  semen  and  their correlation  to  the successful of artificial  insemination.  The  parameters  were  progressive  motility  and membrane totality (MT) successful of artificial insemination was measured by non return rate (NR)  and  conception  rate  (CR). Result  of  this  experiment  showed  that  PM  =  38.14%,  MT  =  69.86%,  NR  = 64.49% and CR = 53.47%. Progressive mortality  significantly influenced (P<0.05) NR. Mortality  and  membrane  totality    significantly  determine  (P<0.05)  the successful  of  artificial  insemination  (CR)  of Ongole cattle

Abstract

This  research  was  aimed  to  1)  determine the  sufficiency  of  animal  food  consumption  such  as amount  of  food  consumption,  animal  protein  and  energi  consumption  for  the  healthy  life,  2)    find  the correlation  between  sufficincy  of  animal  food  consumptionand  human  resources  quality  and,  3) determine family member appetite on  animal food consumption, food accessibility, income per capita, 4) find the  correlation between animal food availability in their house hold to the sufficiency of animal food consumption  .  the  research  was  condcted  by  survey  in  2 steps  namely  discriptive  and  representative steps.  Sample  were  collected  by  multi  stage  cluster  random  sampling  and  sample  size  were  fixed  by iteratif  methode  .  Correlation  and  patway  abalysis  were  used  as  analysis  model.  This    study  concluded that ; 1) Animal food consumption  in Jambi regency was still under animal food consumption standard, 2) More sufficient animal food consumption  did not inprove quality of human resorces of family member, 3)  Sosisal  culture  and  economic  condition  of  the  family  and  animal  food  availability  at  the  house  hold level had significant food consumption, animal protein and energy

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect ammoniated feed from agriculture by products on the in  sacco  dry  matter,  organic  matter  and  crude  protein  digestibilities. This  study  was  assigned  into a completely  randomized  design  (CRD)  with  4  treatments  and  5  replications.  The  treatments  were different types of low quality fibre of agricultural by-products found in Jambi Province; A = ammoniated rice straw with 6 % of urea and 15 % of inoculated rumen digesta, B = ammoniated palm oil fibre with 6% of urea and 15 % of inoculated rumen digesta, C = ammoniated corn peel with 6 % of urea and 15 % of inoculated rumen digesta, D = ammoniated top cane with 6 % of urea and 15 % of inoculated rumen digesta.  Result  of  this  study  showed  that  the  treatments  were  significantly affect (P<0,05) on  the dry matter,  organic  matter  and  crude  protein  degradations.  Ammoniation  significantly  increased degradation  of  feed  compared  with those without  ammoniation. It  is  concluded  that  ammoniation  with urea and addition of rumen digesta increased fibre quality of agricultural by-products. Different of type of ammoniated feed resulted in the difference respond on the nutrient degradation.

Abstract

The  objective  of  the  research  was  to  study  the  influence  of    sengon  leaf  supplementation  on  the  digestibility  and  fermentability of  urea  treated  bagasse using with  in  vitro  technique.  The  matter  were used in the research was the bagasse-urea treated which had good degradation characteristic which origin from the first  research.  Completely  randomized design with five treatments of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%  and 20%  sengon  leaf  supplementation    and  four  replications  were  used  in    this  experiments.    Parameter measured were the dry metter  and organic matter digestibility, acidity degree,  ammonia (N-NH3) and VFA production of in vitro  test.  The result showed that the sengon leaf supplementation was significant effect  (P>0.05) on the  digestibility and fermentability  bagasse-urea treated with in vitro technique. It could be concluded that bagasse treated of 6% urea solution that used in the second step research could be increased their digestibility and fermentability by supplementation of 10% sengon leaf.
