Abstract

Technological developments are currently growing, this can be seen from the increasing lifestyle of people, one of which is the increased consumption of fast food or junk food, it is known that fast food has low nutritional content and high calories, so it can trigger inflammation in the body accompanied by the emergence of disease. which is harmful to the body if consumed for a long time. To minimize the occurrence of disease, in recent years scientists have been intensively conducting research on the discovery of new drugs derived from plants, one of the plants that has the potential as an anti-inflammatory is the kedondong plant. The purpose of writing this article is to find out the potential of the kedondong plant as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Based on testing with several extraction methods and compound test methods, bioactive compounds were found, the compounds contained were phenolics, tannins, saponins and flavonoids which are a group of antioxidant compounds. These compounds were found in leaves, stems, fruits and roots, every part of the kedondong plant has bioactive compounds, through tests carried out. The bioactive compounds in kedondong are known to reduce the expression of iNOS, TLR4, Th1, interleukin (IL) and cytokines genes, these genes are expressed genes in the process of inflammation. So that the antioxidant content in the kedondong plant has the potential as an anti-inflammatory by inhibiting the genes that are expressed in the process of inflammation. The content of bioactive compounds contained is also influenced by the solvent in the extraction process carried out.

Abstract

Tourism development is one of the efforts to advance and develop tourist attraction objects into positive things in order to improve people's welfare in an economic sense. The purpose of this study was to determine public awareness in the development of the Lakeba beach tourism area in Baubau City. The method in this study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by making coastal communities as research subjects. Sources of data from this study were in the form of direct observation techniques, interviews and documentation to obtain data related to public awareness in the development of Lakeba Beach tourism in Baubau City. The results of this study concluded that public awareness in the development of the Lakeba beach tourism area has not been maximized due to the lack of government involvement in the development of the beach tourism area. Abstract

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is a plantation commodity with high economic value. The need for cacao is increasing but the production yields are decreasing every year, so it is necessary to increase cocoa production. The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of liquid organic fertilizer can increase the growth of cocoa plants and how to apply liquid organic fertilizer to cocoa plants. The research was carried out in several stages, namely making liquid organic fertilizer and planting cocoa plants. This study used a randomized block design with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results showed that the application of liquid organic fertilizer to cocoa seedling plants had an effect on growth and gave better results than without the application of liquid organic fertilizer. The highest yield was found in the 500 mL/L treatment with an average plant height of 20.67 cm, leaf area of 28.49 cm and an average number of leaves of 5.67.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the increase in inquiry skills and student learning outcomes in science learning the subject matter of substance pressure class VIII SMPS Oikumene Kendari through the application of the guided inquiry learning model This type of research is classroom action research. The research subjects were students of class VIII SMPS Oikumene Kendari who were registered in the even semester of the 2021/202 school year, totaling 29 people. The data collected in this study were data on inquiry skill and student learning outcomes. From the results of data analysis, it was concluded that: 1) the inquiry skills of students in the first cycle were 2.43 in the sufficient category, while in the second cycle, 3.21 were in the good category; 2) the average value of students' learning outcomes in the first cycle obtained an average value of 72.48 with a standard deviation of 12.69, while in the second cycle the average value of student learning outcomes was 78.87 with a standard deviation of 8.32.

Abstract

Medicinal plants play a very vital role in their use for medicine, in addition to providing ecological, economic and cultural benefits. Since ancient times, plants have been used as a source of effective and safe medicines. Plants can have medicinal properties because they contain secondary metabolites or other bioactive compounds. This study uses samples of medicinal plants that have been used by the people of North Buton as traditional medicine for hundreds of years. This plant has never been reported in previous studies. This study aims to determine the types of medicinal plants and the phytochemical content contained in these plants. The research was conducted with several stages of identification and phytochemical testing. The phytochemicals analyzed included flavonoid alkaloids, tannins, steroids, terpenoids, saponins and phenols. Phytochemical tests were carried out on plant organs, namely roots, stems and leaves. The results of plant identification showed that the plant was a genus of Embelia. Furthermore, the results of phytochemical tests showed that the roots and stems of Embelia sp. contains flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, saponins, tannins and phenols. Furthermore, the leaves of Embelia sp. contains alkaloids, steroids, saponins, tannins and phenols.
