Abstract

Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) has disrupted conventional learning process. Therefore we need a solution to The challenge. Online learning is one alternative that can overcome the challenge. So this research was conducted to know and analyze students' learning results through online learning in mathematics with the subject of the Two-Variable Inequality System (SPtDV) class X MIPA 1. The method in this study is the descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The instrument used was the test instrument on the SPtDV material with a total of 5 essay questions. The research sample was 14 students of class X MIPA 1 one of the public high schools in Soppeng Regency. The results of this study were four students with high scores, six students with moderate grades, and four students with low scores. Achievement of the lowest percentage of material indicators according to the Level of Ability to Answer the Problems Correctly of Students in a row from high, medium, low, namely solving problems in the area of the settlement set on the SPtDV material. Overall, the achievement of student learning results got a good predicate.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the achievements of each indicator that measures the mathematical comprehension skills of SMAN 10 Pinrang learners on Binomial Opportunity Distribution materials in online learning through the Ms Teams and WhatsApps applications. This research is a qualitative descriptive research that seeks to analyze the mathematical abilities of learners. Imi's research subjects were students of class XII IPA consisting of 29 students. Data collection methods include tests of the level of mathematical understanding of Binomial Peluan Distribution material. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are 11 people get a score of 80, 2 people get a score of 90, 9 people who get a score of 95 and 5 people get a score of 100. The overall average is 75.27. This indicates that the level of mathematical understanding of learners is able to choose, use precise formulas and calculations.

Abstract

The main issues raised in this research was” how the process and results of the development of mathematical learning model that develops critical thinking skills in brief development mathematical instruction model in fostering critical thinking, colled MICT. The model developed new MICT until the test phase was limited, therefore to determine its effectiveness on a broader scope. Aspects of students' critical thinking applied in this model can be modified by teachers who are interested in implementing this model, modification can be done by adjusting the environment and culture of the students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of student errors and the factors that cause errors in class XII MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 5 Soppeng in solving math problems on statistics. This research is qualitative research using a descriptive research methodology approach. Data collection was carried out using written tests and interviews. The subjects in this study were 31 students of class XII MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 5 Soppeng taken by purposive sampling. The types of student error were classified according to the Newman procedure. The results of this study indicate that in solving mathematical problems, the research subjects make types of errors; reading errors, comprehension errors, transformation errors, process skills errors, and encoding errors. The factors that cause student errors are poor network connection in looking for references to work on questions, unfamiliarity with online learning, lack of understanding of statistics submitted online, difficulty in the calculation part, lack of ability or not being used to writing things that are known and things those who are asked in the questions correctly, lack of practice working on practice questions related to statistics, do not like maths lessons, are in a hurry to work on the completion process. The solution to avoid or minimize the occurrence of these errors is to look for appropriate learning methods, look for references via the internet or from YouTube videos, students are actively practicing working on problem-solving types, practicing answering.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the errors of class X SMA students on linear program material. The method applied is the qualitative description method. Purposive sampling was implemented in this study, and the participants were 30 students from class X MIA SMAN 5 Tapung. The types of errors analyzed are based on Nasution's theory, which states that there are three types of errors: conceptual errors, procedural errors, and computational errors. The test questions are given in the form of 7 description questions. The results of the analysis of student answers along with the analysis of interviews, errors in calculations occur because students are not careful in calculating and entering numbers into the formula. Therefore only 8 students whose scores exceed the standard score of 70. Based on the results of the analysis of student answers, it can be concluded that, students' errors in solving linear program questions are in conceptual errors where students do not understand the implied meaning of the questions; procedural and computational errors where students are not able to carry out the procedures or steps that will be used to solve the problems, do not know the arithmetic operations that will be used to solve the problems and do not write down the final results according to the procedures or steps applied.

Abstract

The inability of students to solve problems will result in errors in solving them. This study aims to describe students' errors in the circle equation material and the factors that cause errors in class XI SMKN 3 Pekanbaru and solve math problems related to circle equation material. This research is descriptive research. The subjects in this study were 36 students of class XI SMKN 3 Pekanbaru. The data collection technique was carried out by means of a learning outcome test which consisted of instruments describing the circle equation. As for the percentage of errors made by students, namely students who made fact errors as much as 29% due to the lack of accuracy of the students in writing the symbols of the circle equation, the students made 23% misconceptions because the students did not understand the questions well so that students are random in determining the formula used to solve the problem, students made a principle error of 16% because the students were careless in determining the formula to solve the questions, students make operating errors as much as 32% because students are not careful in doing algebraic operations and are in a hurry to work on the problem.

Abstract

Teachers must have teaching skills and create a comfortable, joyful, relax, and serious learning atmosphere. Therefore, teachers must understand the learning process, must be aware of the learners’ psychologies, and capable of developing the learners’ interest so they have greater spirits to learn. From various problems of teaching mathematics, the teacher's position is the center of the problem. Teachers as motivators, educators, and supervisors have important roles to direct learners to be capable and to actualize them in real life through the school lessons. There are several factors of difficulties experienced by mathematics teachers in implementing learning at SMAN 2 Tambang. This research aims to determine the difficulties experienced by mathematics teachers in implementing learning. This type of writing uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were teachers at SMAN 2 Tambang. Data collection techniques used interviews and questionnaires. It could be concluded that the most common difficulty was determining the learning media and learning process planning. The cause was the limitation of facilities, infrastructures, and unfordable media by the learners. On the other hand, the next difficulties were due to the large number of learners that could not be accommodated in a small classroom.

Abstract

Improving the quality of learning for candidates of prospective mathematics teachers is needed, so prospective educators can improve the quality of learning and education in Indonesia. Moreover, PPL students (Field Experience Program) is still very minimal knowledge about curriculum 2013. This research aims to describe the knowledge of prospective mathematics teachers in the preparation of a Lesson Plan (RPP) in the curriculum 2013. Techniques used in data collection include (1) documentation in the form of a collection of lesson plans (RPP) and (2) structured interviews. The knowledge of mathematics teacher candidates about the curriculum 2013 in the preparation of RPP, shows that Subject 2 is higher than Subject 1. Subject 1 with an average of 3.45, and Subject 2 with 3.57. The results of the analysis of the assessment conducted show that the knowledge of mathematics teacher candidates about the Curriculum 2013 is very good, there are still some inaccurate understandings, such as knowledge of the relationship between curriculum tools, compatibility of KD and components in RPP, sources and media to learn knowledge about the context in preparation of perceptions and motivation and the link between learning activities and learning models.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the problem-solving abilities of students reviewed from their self-confidence. This method of this study is a qualitative descriptive research method. This study was conducted at Junior High School in Kampar. The subjects of this study were students of seventh grade in the 2020/2021 academic year as many as 20 students. The data analysis was carried out in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The data from this study were obtained by providing 5 items of mathematical problem-solving ability, distributing a questionnaire about self-confidence using a Likert scale in the form of a checklist, and conducting interviews. The results showed that there was a relationship between students' self-confidence and mathematical problem-solving abilities. From the questionnaire score category and the results of the problem-solving ability test given, it can be seen that 25% of students who have high self-confidence have good problem-solving skills because they meet all problem-solving indicators. Sixty percent of students who have moderate self-confidence have fairly good problem-solving abilities because they only meet part of the 4 problem-solving indicators. Fifteen percent of students belonging to the low category of self-confidence have problem-solving skills that are not good enough. The findings of this study can motivate teachers to raise students' self-confidence because students who have good self-confidence have good problem-solving abilities as well. The study's findings suggest that teachers should use methods and techniques to boost students' self-confidence in mathematics learning.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the mathematical problem-solving abilities of class XI high school students in solving sequence and series questions. This research is a descriptive study that aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving ability of class XI students in solving problems of sequences and series. The population in this study were students of class XI SMA in the academic year 2020/2021. The sample was selected by purposive sampling obtained students XI MIPA 1 totaling 25 students. The data was obtained from the results of the mathematical problem-solving ability essay test on the material of sequences and series as many as 4 questions taken from the 2018 National Examination questions. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze students' mathematical problem-solving abilities on the material of sequences and series. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the mathematical problem-solving ability on indicators 1, 2, and 3 are categorized as medium and high. In accordance with the research method, students are categorized as having low mathematical problem-solving abilities if they obtain medium, high, and very high criteria. The percentage of indicator 1 is 68.75%, the percentage of indicator 2 is 55.75%, the percentage of indicator 3 is 62.2% while the percentage of indicator 4 is 34.75.
