Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komunikasi, lingkungan kerja, gaya kepemimpinan dan komitmen kerja sebagai faktor – faktor keterlibatan karyawan terhadap produktivitas organisasi pada ritel Alfamart dan Indomaret kota Batam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei, kuisioner dibagikan kepada responden guna mendapatkan data primer. Populasi dalam penelitian ini karyawan terhadap produktivitas organisasi pada ritel Alfamart dan Indomaret kota Batam. Kuisioner yang dibagikan sebanyak 100 kuisioner, Kembali sebanyak 100 kuisioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis jalur (Path Analysis) dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh mediasi akan menggunakan aplikasi SMART PLS.3 Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai R Square pada variabel dependen Produktivitas Organisasi adalah 0,658 (65,8%) yang berarti variabel independen Komunikasi, Gaya Kepemimpinan, Komitmen Kerja, dan Lingkungan Kerja yang dimediasi oleh Keterlibatan Karyawan mampu menerangkan variabel dependen sebesar 65,80%, kemudian untuk 34,2% lainnya diterangkan dengan adanya faktor lain yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between share ownership and the board of directors on company performance. This study uses a profitability ratio policy as the dependent variable. The dependent variable in this study is measured by ROA (Return on Assets) and ROE (Return on Equity). Independent directors, number of directors in a company, family ownership, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, blockholder ownership as a measure of independent variables and leverage ratio, growth opportunities (growth), big 4, dividend payout ratio (dividend payout ratio), company size, company age as control variables. The population data of this study are companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the data taken are company data from 2016 to 2020. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis, while to measure the level of significance used partial test (t) and simultaneous test (f).). Positive effect of independent directors on company performance, negative effect of board size on company performance, positive influence of block ownership on company performance. company performance, positive influence of institutional ownership on company performance, positive influence of foreign ownership on company performance, positive influence of family ownership on company performance. Company performance is measured by the ROA and ROE variables.

Abstract

Monopolistic practices and unfair business competition are needed to be regulated to protect both businessmen and consumers. The sovereignty of business competition law can be strengthened if the Indonesia's Business Competition Supervisory Commission/IBCSC (Komisi Pengawasan Persaingan Usaha/KPPU) can carry out its functions optimally, particularly in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). This research aims to ascertain whether the IBCSC can be perform its functions in enforcing business competition rules and what challenges it faces in performing its duties in the era of IR 4.0. This research applied a normative legal method and analyzed the data by using qualitative approaches. It found the IBSCS has authority to impose administrative sanctions against business actors who violate Law No. 5 of 1999 concerning the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition (Law No.5 of 1999). Unfortunately, the supervisory function of the IBCSC pertaining electronic systems is not regulated by this Law. Although a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Menkominfo) and the IBCSC facilitates the enforcement and supervisory of business competition law in the IR 4.0, it cannot strengthen the IBCSC’s legal position as an institution. Therefore, it is strongly suggested to amend Law No. 5 of 1999 to cover transactions in the digital market to strengthen the functions and authorities of the IBCSC.

Abstract

Pajak merupakan sumber pendapatan terbesar dalam sebuah negara karena dapat menunjang kegiatan perekenomian dalam sebuah negara, khususnya dalam pelaksanaan pembangunan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah adanya pengaruh yang terjadi pada variabel independen (eksekutif karakter, ukuran perusahaan, kepemilikan institutional, proporsi dewan komisaris, komite audit, kualitas audit, keahlian keuangan dan koneksi politik) terhadap variabel dependen (penghindaraan pajak). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah variabel ukuran perusahaan dan keahlian keuangan memiliki pengaruh signifikan negatif terhadap variabel dependen, variabel kualitas audit memiliki pengaruh signifikan positif terhadap variabel dependen sedangkan untuk variabel lainnya tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel dependen.

Abstract

Currently, many agencies or companies use computers to work in the office. MicroServer is a tiny piece of hardware to help smooth system operations. MicroServer has an essential function in computers, to limit local networks and internet networks. Proliant HPE is an alternative MicroServer to use servers easily and quickly. In this analysis design, the author uses a descriptive qualitative analysis research method in which the author sees and tests the speed of data transfer on a ProLiant HPE microserver. As for the analysis results, the author has the ambition to create a backup plan if he feels the network and cloud server is unsafe to focus on physical products such as servers or microservers. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas mengenai faktor yang menjadi determinan dari cash holdings di Indonesia. Terdapat 8 faktor dalam penelitian ini yang diduga dapat memberi pengaruh secara signifikan terhadap cash holdings di antaranya yaitu leverage, pembayaran dividen, profitabilitas, peluang pertumbuhan, ukuran perusahaan, pengeluaran modal, modal kerja bersih, dan volatilitas arus kas. Peneliti menggunakan sampel data perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) dan telah menerbitkan laporan keuangan dari tahun 2015 hingga tahun 2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peluang pertumbuhan mempengaruhi cash holdings secara signifikan positif dan leverage, pengeluaran modal, dan modal kerja bersih mempengaruhi cash holdings secara signifikan negatif. Variabel lainnya bukan merupakan determinan dalam menentukan tingkat cash holdings perusahaan di Indonesia.

Abstract

A bug is a system error that causes a mismatch between user expectations to actualization. Bugs often arise from programmatical mistakes, and a prompt resolution is mandatory so that the users’ business processes are assured. However, the author has noted a low efficiency of developers’ bug solving. After research, the cause is the lack of knowledge management, especially in bug tracking. The lacking of such has resulted in the repetition of the error. The developers often made the same mistake that the others had encountered. The above has moved the author to build a bug tracking system (BTS) that can enhance the efficiency of bug solving. The author has developed the application using Django, MySQL, and Scrum. Scrum’s agile approaches enable dynamic and rapid development. In addition, BTS utilized a content-based filtering algorithm known as Cosine Similarity. This study results in the implementation of BTS with comprehensive capabilities. Users can manage bugs and compare them to others to find potential duplication into minimizing data redundancy. The author has implemented the BTS towards groups of undergraduate students that actively work on application-related projects. Through a user acceptance survey, they find improvement in the quality and efficiency of their bug solving

Abstract

Sistem informasi pendukung usaha kecil menengah berbasis web dapat memudahkan pelaku usaha dalam mengelola toko online mereka yang dibangun dalam beberapa platfrom Ecommerce, contohnya Tokopedia ataupun Shopee, dimana pelaku usaha dapat dengan mudah mengelola penjualan dan pemasokan produk yang tergeneralisasi pada satu sistem. Metode Lean Canvas digunakan untuk mengetahui kelemahan dan kelebihan sistem yang akan dirancang serta metode waterfall digunakan agar meminimalisir kesalahan langkah dalam proses perancangan sistem. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa sistem yang dapat diakses oleh pengusaha online secara internet sehingga dapat membantu pengusaha toko online mengelola usahanya kapan saja dan dimana saja tanpa keterbatasan tempat maupun waktu.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between board characteristics, audit committee meetings, and audit quality with ownership concentration as the moderating variable. This study used 133 firms in manufacturing sectors as the sample for the period 2016 to 2020. The results of the study show that the board’s age diversity has a negative significant effect on audit quality, board’s education, and number of audit committee meetings have a significant effect on audit quality. The findings also show that moderating variable could strengthen the relationship between board’s age diversity and audit quality and weaken the relationship between the number of audit committee meetings and audit quality.

Abstract

Remote workers tend to experience stress at work because they have to spend more energy communicating and managing work. Stress can cause decreased productivity and can have an impact on health. Mindfulness is a concept that can help manage stress by focusing awareness on the present moment. In this research will develop a mindfulness application to help remote workers control their stress. The practice applied in the application is mindful breathing with box breathing technique. The application will be developed on iOS platform using agile scrum methodology. The result of the study is mindfulness application released on the App Store.
