Abstract

Stunting is a malnutrition for a long time. Malnutrition will cause growth retardation disorders. The percentage of stunting under five nutritional status in Indonesia in 2021 is 24.4%. The factors that cause stunting is infants not getting exclusive breastfeeding. The aim of the study to determine the relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months in the working area of Purwantoro I Health Center, Wonogiri Regency. This type of research is Cross Sectional. The sample for this study was toddlers aged 24-59 months who had met the inclusion criteria. The research subjects were 59 people spread across the work area of the Purwantoro I Health Center. The sampling technique was proportional cluster random sampling. History of exclusive breastfeeding was obtained from secondary data from the Purwantoro I Health Center. Data on stunting events were measured based on the nutritional status of children under five obtained from measurements using a microtoise. The data obtained were tested using the Chi Square test. History of toddlers receiving exclusive breastfeeding (0-6 months) was 67.8% and children who did not receive exclusive breastfeeding (0-6 months) were 32.2%. The relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding and stunting in infants aged 24-59 months was p=0.005. There is a relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months in the working area of Purwantoro I Health Center

Abstract

Female students are at risk for anemia, and one of the reasons of anemia is not having breakfast. Knowledge is one of the variables that impact schoolchildren's breakfast. The study aimed to see how breakfast counseling affects the hemoglobin levels and knowledge of students at MAN 2 Aceh Tamiang. This study was pre-experimental, using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The Wilcoxon analysis test was used to evaluate the data.According to the Wilcoxon analysis test results, the breakfast counselingvariable on hemoglobin levels has a P value of 0.001, indicating that there was an effect of breakfast counseling on hemoglobin levels, whereas the breakfast counseling variable on knowledge has a p-value of 0.000, indicating that there was no effect of breakfast counseling on knowledge. There is a significant effect between breakfast counseling on hemoglobin levels and knowledge of students at MAN 2 Aceh Tamiang.

Abstract

One of the groups that are vulnerable to nutritional problems is adolescents, especially adolescent girls, so that adolescents face many health and nutritional problems. Nutritional status in adolescents is generally influenced by dietary factors, physical activity habits, and menstrual disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of diet, physical activity, and menstrual disorders to the nutritional status of adolescent girls at SMAN 1 South Tangerang. This study used a cross sectional study design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 247 adolescent girls. Data were collected in the form of questionnaires and anthropometric measurements (weight and height). The statistical analysis used was the chi-square test. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between diet and nutritional status of adolescent girls (p-value = 0.931), there was no significant relationship between physical activity and nutritional status of adolescent girls (p-value = 0.871), there was no significant relationship between menstrual disorders and nutritional status of adolescent girls (p-value = 0.896). The conclusion in this study is that there is no relationship between diet, physical activity, and menstrual disorders with the nutritional status of adolescent girls.

Abstract

Technological advances have made lifestyle transformation. On teenagers, using smartphones and the pocket money that can affect of food intake. Based on the World Health Organization in 2018, adolescents in the world who are obese have increased tenfold in the last 40 years. Meanwhile, the prevalence of overweight (5-19 years) in 2016 reached 216 million children. The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship between smartphone ownership and pocket money on the incidence of obesity in adolescents. This study was carried out at SMP Pembangunan Padang with a research population of class VII and VII students as many as 90 people and as many as 37 people as a research sample.  This study uses a cross-sectional study approach. Samples were taken by random sampling where anthropometric data were processed using the WHO Anthro Plus application and the statistical analysis used was the chi square test with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05) and Odds Ratio (OR). The results of the chi square test showed that smartphone ownership was associated with obesity (p-value = 0.03) and OR 4.47, while pocket money was associated with obesity (p-value = 0.00) and OR 2.37. The conclusion of this study is that smartphone ownership and pocket money are associated with the incidence of obesity in adolescents.

Abstract

Low Birth Weight (LBW) has serious consequences and is one of the causes of infant death. The incidence of low birth weight in Bogor Regency in 2018 was 1,633 infants (1.38%). This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal age during pregnancy and the incidence of low birth weight in Babakan Madang District, Bogor Regency in 2019. The research design was cross sectional. This study used secondary data obtained from the 2019 PITTA B umbrella research. The population of this study is all children covered in the 2019 PITTA B GRANT data, which is 612 children under five. The number of samples in this study was determined based on inclusion and exclusion criteria so that the selected subjects were in accordance with research needs (eligible subjects), which were 504 children. The results showed that 5.8% of children are low birth weight in Babakan Madang District in 2019. Twenty nine children who experienced low birth weight, 10.6% were born to mothers aged >35 years and 5.3% to mothers aged ≤35 years. The results of chi-square analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between maternal age during pregnancy and the incidence of low birth weight (p = 0.175). The researchers suggest to the Bogor District Health Office to provide socialization and education to the public about the causes and effects of low birth weight, the importance of maintaining maternal health during pregnancy, and other factors that can cause low birth weight.
