Abstract

Noodles are very popular with the people of Indonesia because of their taste, texture and practical processing method and the price is relatively cheap so that they are easily accessible to the public. To determine the effect of adding durian seed flour as much as 10%, 20%, 30% in the manufacture of durian seed wet noodles on aspects of color, texture, taste, and flavor, as well as the level of consumer preference for wet noodles. This study was an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three trials and two repetitions. The experiment was making wet noodles with the addition of 10%, 20% and 30% durian seed flour. The results showed that the panelists liked the color, texture, taste, and flavor of wet durian seed noodles using the addition of 10% durian seed flour.  The addition of different amounts of durian seed flour to the manufacture of durian seed wet noodles had a different effect on the color, texture, and aroma, but did not have a different effect on the taste of the durian seed wet noodles. The panelist's acceptance of the most preferred durian seed wet noodles was the experiment of adding 10% durian seed flour to 90% wheat flour.

Abstract

The behavior of achieving ideal body weight and shape is one method for controlling weight. We can apply this weight control behavior by dieting behavior. This study aims to describe the knowledge of students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta about the application of good diet methods for health. Qualitative research methods with a case study approach. The results of this study, students already know the meaning of diet, most students have the habit of eating 3x a day but there are still students who skip meals. Students apply the low-calorie diet method as much as 62.5% and do a low-fat diet 37.2% in terms of nutritional status 75% of students have normal nutritional status, 12.5% ​​undernutrition status, 12.5% overnutrition status and most students do regular physical activity. It can be concluded that most of the respondents already know about the knowledge or understanding of diet. Perform regular physical activity and most respondents have normal nutritional status. However, in implementing the diet, there are still students who still skip meals.

Abstract

Hypertension is referred to as the silent killer because it often occurs without complaints, so that sufferers do not know they have the disease and only find out after complications occur. Most of the elderly people are at risk of developing hypertension. The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship between knowledge, sodium intake, and nutritional status with incidence of hypertension in Elderly Polyclinic Ciracas Sub-District Health Center. The research design used descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional study approach involving 62 research subjects. Data collected in the form of questionnaires, anthropometric measurements, and blood pressure measurements. The statistical analysis used was the chi-square test. The results showed that there were (56.5%) research subjects suffering from hypertension. The results of the chi-square test showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.031), sodium intake (p-value = 0.037), and nutritional status (p-value = 0.107) with the incidence of hypertension. The conclusion in this study is that knowledge and sodium intake are associated with the incidence of hypertension, but there is no relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of hypertension.

Abstract

Stunting is a malnutrition for a long time. Malnutrition will cause growth retardation disorders. The percentage of stunting under five nutritional status in Indonesia in 2021 is 24.4%. The factors that cause stunting is infants not getting exclusive breastfeeding. The aim of the study to determine the relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months in the working area of Purwantoro I Health Center, Wonogiri Regency. This type of research is Cross Sectional. The sample for this study was toddlers aged 24-59 months who had met the inclusion criteria. The research subjects were 59 people spread across the work area of the Purwantoro I Health Center. The sampling technique was proportional cluster random sampling. History of exclusive breastfeeding was obtained from secondary data from the Purwantoro I Health Center. Data on stunting events were measured based on the nutritional status of children under five obtained from measurements using a microtoise. The data obtained were tested using the Chi Square test. History of toddlers receiving exclusive breastfeeding (0-6 months) was 67.8% and children who did not receive exclusive breastfeeding (0-6 months) were 32.2%. The relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding and stunting in infants aged 24-59 months was p=0.005. There is a relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months in the working area of Purwantoro I Health Center

Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the number and size of red blood cells or hemoglobin concentration are below established standards. Anemia in men has a hemoglobin level of less than 13.5 gr/100 ml and in women as hemoglobin less than 12.0 gr/100 ml. The aim to determine effectiveness of the blood supplement tablet program and protein intake in preventing anemia in female adolescents. This study uses the literature review method. Database searches were carried out on Google Scholar, Garuda Portal, DOAJ and PubMed. There were 420 articles found, articles were selected according to title, free access, full text, PICOS, female adolescent population, intervention given the intervention, comparison had no comparison for quasy experiments, study design was experimental design or quasy experiment, and articles published in 2015 -2020 as well as an appraisal checklist and 13 articles were obtained. The results of the study showed that of the 13 articles reviewed, there were 8 articles discussing the effectiveness of the blood supplement, and 5 articles reporting protein intake. The conclusions of 8 articles regarding the effectiveness of the blood supplement tablet program, and the program to increase Hb levels to the highest Hb 1.55 g/dl was supplementation of 200 mg Fe tablets/day with the rule of drinking 1x1 a day for 30 days. Five articles regarding protein intake, and raising the highest Hb level to 2.17 g/dl, namely the administration of 100 g rainbow crowfish cookies containing 17.9 g protein, 1 time/day for 30 days.

Abstract

An increase in free radicals that is not accompanied by an increase in antioxidant intake will cause oxidative stress. Foods that contain lots of antioxidants and high fiber are recommended for people with type 2 DM because they can improve blood glucose control. Gotu kola powder is an herbal plant that has an active substance in the form of asiatic acid as an antioxidant and a source of dietary fiber. This study aims to determine effect of adding various formulations of gotu kola powder on antioxidant substance and total dietary fiber in beef meatballs as an alternative food for type 2 DM. This type of research is quantitative with experimental design. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a concentration of gotu kola powder in making beef meatballs, those were F0 (0%), F1 (5%), F2 (10%), and F3 (15%). This study found that the addition of gotu kola powder to beef meatballs had a significant effect on antioxidant content, insoluble dietary fiber, soluble dietary fiber, total dietary fiber, and organoleptic with p value = 0.000. Meanwhile, the hedonic quality with the aftertaste attribute had no significant effect (p=0.414). Selected product is F3 which has an antioxidant content of 27.19% and contains 3.96 in 100 g of beef meatballs. Selected product fulfills 26.4% of fiber requirement per one meal in the general group. There was a significant effect with the addition of gotu kola powder on the antioxidant content and total dietary fiber in beef meatballs.

Abstract

Female students are at risk for anemia, and one of the reasons of anemia is not having breakfast. Knowledge is one of the variables that impact schoolchildren's breakfast. The study aimed to see how breakfast counseling affects the hemoglobin levels and knowledge of students at MAN 2 Aceh Tamiang. This study was pre-experimental, using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The Wilcoxon analysis test was used to evaluate the data.According to the Wilcoxon analysis test results, the breakfast counselingvariable on hemoglobin levels has a P value of 0.001, indicating that there was an effect of breakfast counseling on hemoglobin levels, whereas the breakfast counseling variable on knowledge has a p-value of 0.000, indicating that there was no effect of breakfast counseling on knowledge. There is a significant effect between breakfast counseling on hemoglobin levels and knowledge of students at MAN 2 Aceh Tamiang.

Abstract

One of the groups that are vulnerable to nutritional problems is adolescents, especially adolescent girls, so that adolescents face many health and nutritional problems. Nutritional status in adolescents is generally influenced by dietary factors, physical activity habits, and menstrual disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of diet, physical activity, and menstrual disorders to the nutritional status of adolescent girls at SMAN 1 South Tangerang. This study used a cross sectional study design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 247 adolescent girls. Data were collected in the form of questionnaires and anthropometric measurements (weight and height). The statistical analysis used was the chi-square test. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between diet and nutritional status of adolescent girls (p-value = 0.931), there was no significant relationship between physical activity and nutritional status of adolescent girls (p-value = 0.871), there was no significant relationship between menstrual disorders and nutritional status of adolescent girls (p-value = 0.896). The conclusion in this study is that there is no relationship between diet, physical activity, and menstrual disorders with the nutritional status of adolescent girls.

Abstract

Technological advances have made lifestyle transformation. On teenagers, using smartphones and the pocket money that can affect of food intake. Based on the World Health Organization in 2018, adolescents in the world who are obese have increased tenfold in the last 40 years. Meanwhile, the prevalence of overweight (5-19 years) in 2016 reached 216 million children. The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship between smartphone ownership and pocket money on the incidence of obesity in adolescents. This study was carried out at SMP Pembangunan Padang with a research population of class VII and VII students as many as 90 people and as many as 37 people as a research sample.  This study uses a cross-sectional study approach. Samples were taken by random sampling where anthropometric data were processed using the WHO Anthro Plus application and the statistical analysis used was the chi square test with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05) and Odds Ratio (OR). The results of the chi square test showed that smartphone ownership was associated with obesity (p-value = 0.03) and OR 4.47, while pocket money was associated with obesity (p-value = 0.00) and OR 2.37. The conclusion of this study is that smartphone ownership and pocket money are associated with the incidence of obesity in adolescents.

Abstract

Low Birth Weight (LBW) has serious consequences and is one of the causes of infant death. The incidence of low birth weight in Bogor Regency in 2018 was 1,633 infants (1.38%). This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal age during pregnancy and the incidence of low birth weight in Babakan Madang District, Bogor Regency in 2019. The research design was cross sectional. This study used secondary data obtained from the 2019 PITTA B umbrella research. The population of this study is all children covered in the 2019 PITTA B GRANT data, which is 612 children under five. The number of samples in this study was determined based on inclusion and exclusion criteria so that the selected subjects were in accordance with research needs (eligible subjects), which were 504 children. The results showed that 5.8% of children are low birth weight in Babakan Madang District in 2019. Twenty nine children who experienced low birth weight, 10.6% were born to mothers aged >35 years and 5.3% to mothers aged ≤35 years. The results of chi-square analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between maternal age during pregnancy and the incidence of low birth weight (p = 0.175). The researchers suggest to the Bogor District Health Office to provide socialization and education to the public about the causes and effects of low birth weight, the importance of maintaining maternal health during pregnancy, and other factors that can cause low birth weight.
