ABSTRACT  The purpose of this research is to find out how the activities of onion and potato farming in South Bongkudai Village, Mooat District, Bolaang Mongondow Regency East. The purpose of this research is to find out how the activities of onion and potato farming in South Bongkudai Village, Mooat District, Bolaang Mongondow Regency East. The population in this study are all farmers who have worked on potato and onion farming. Samples were taken as many as 30 respondents engaged in onion plants and 30 respondents engaged in potato plants. Simple random sampling (simple random sampling) in the village of South Bongkudai. The data obtained in this study were analyzed by identifying activities using descriptive analysis methods with the help of tables. Based on the results of the study showed that some of the economic activities of the agricultural sector in the village of South Bongkudai consisted of horticultural crops, especially leeks and potatoes. The highest activity in the employment of onion farming is maintenance activities and for potato farming is maintenance activities. At the income level, potato farming is higher than leek farming.     Keywords :  Activities of farming, labor absorption, income farming

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of interactions between the number of branches and the number of fruit on the production of watermelon plants. The study was carried out in Kalasey 2 Village, Mandolang District, Kab. Minahasa which runs from May to July 2019. This research uses a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors. Factor A Number of branches, 1 branch (A1) and 2 branches (A2). Factor B Number of fruits, 1 fruit in 1 branch (B1) 2 fruits in 1 branch (B2) 3 fruits in 1 branch (B3). Thus obtained 6 combinations of treatments A1B1, A1B2, A1B3, A2B1, A2B2, A2B3, the treatment was repeated three times. Observed in this study were fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit length, and carried out at harvest. The results showed that there was an interaction between the number of branches and the number of fruit on the length and weight of watermelon fruit. Watermelon plants that have 2 branches and 1 fruit (A2B1) produce the heaviest fruit that is 4.63 kg, and the longest fruit that is 27 cm. Then the treatment of 1 fruit (B1) produces the widest fruit diameter that is 56cm. Through this research it is recommended to farmers to get a large fruit size and length and weight, then in 1 plant only retained 1 or 2 watermelons. Keywords : Watermelon, Pruning

Abstract

ABSTRACT Clove (Syzygium aromaticum L.) in English called cloves, is a scented dried flower stalk from the Myrtaceae family. Clove is a native plant of Indonesia, widely used as a main ingredient in Indonesian clove cigarettes. Pests are one of the inhibiting factors in efforts to increase Clove productivity. This study aims to determine the effect of extracts of lanta (Excoecaria agallocha L.) against larvae attack (Hexamitodera semivelutina) on clove plants (Syzygium aromaticum L.) and determine the concentration of lanta fruit extract which is the best in controlling H. semivelutina larvae attacks on clove plants In Rerer Village, Kombi District, Minahasa Regency. The study was conducted in October to December 2019. The study uses a purposive sampling method (Purposive Sampling Method), which is to choose or determine the location and object of research directly. The study consisted of 5 treatments and 4 replications. Each treatment consisted of 5 sample clove trees that had one active H. semivelutina larvae, so the number of sample trees needed was = 100 trees. materials and equipment include lanta fruit, blenders, filters, plastic containers, injection tools, knives / cutters and mobile / camera clay. The results showed that the highest percentage of H. semivelutina larvae hole due to the use of lanta fruit extract was found in treatment D (concentrated extract 20%) that is 100%, then followed by treatment C (concentrated extract 15%) that is 75%, treatment B (concentrated extracts) 10%) is 55% and the lowest is in treatment A (5% concentrated extract), which is 35%. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the population of O. rhinoceros with pheromones and trap devices. This research was carried out in the paniki experimental garden in Mapanget Subdistrict, Manado city, from October to December 2019. This research used a survey method which was carried out directly on coconut plants. Determination of the location of the imago O. rhinoceros sample collection was done by purposive sampling, ie taking the imago O. rhinoceros sample trapped in the pheromone trap. This study uses pheromones (ethyl 4methyloctanoate), for traps made from buckets and installed 4 sides of zinc plates at the top of the bucket, zinc plates made holes to hang pheromones, then at the bottom of the bucket is perforated. This is so that when there is rain, water will not flood the bucket. Traps used consist of traps that are yellow and colorless, traps are then placed on a coconut plantation with a distance between traps 100-150 meters and placed diagonally. Observations are made once a week for 2 months, beetles caught during observation are counted. The results showed that 83 yellow-painted traps could be trapped and unpainted traps could trap 78 individuals. Keywords: O. rhinoceros, pheromones, Coconut

Abstract

ABSTRACT Cocos plants ( cocos nucufera L ) are versatile plants, because almost all parts of these plants can be processed and utilized by humans. The production of coconut is very important for human along with the amound off production that always fluctuates from years. Another factor that can inhibiti the growth of coconut is a pest attack. This research aims to determine the percentage of Oryctes rhinoceros L (coconut rhinoceros beetle) attacks on coconut ( Cocos nucifera L.) in Tombatu Subdistrict, Southeast Minahasa District which is housed in five gardens.( polong gardens, Bangataas gardens, Derel gardens, Bendo gardens and Linowit gardens, during three months start from October to December 2019. This research uses survey method or direct observation at the location. The percentage of O. rhinoceros attack in the first to fifth observation each farm was as follows: (1) Bangataas garden 42,52%, (2) Polong garden 32.51%, and (3) Linowit garden 15.46%, (4) Bendo garden 14,32% and (5) Derel garden 13,8%. Abstract

ABSTRACTSoil fertility is very necessary in the process of plant growth. This study aims to find theeffect of giving coconut fiber MOL to the growth of pakcoy mustard plants(Brassica Rapa L.). Thisresearch was conducted from December 2019 to February 2020 at the Greenhouse of the Faculty ofAgriculture, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado. The method used in this research is a CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD) method with 6 treatments that were repeated 3 times. The treatmentused consist of K: Control, P: Phonska 250 kg/ha, M25: Coconut fiber MOL solution 25% +phonska 250 kg/ha, M50: Coconut fiber MOL solution 50% + phonska 250 kg/ha, M75: Coconutfiber MOL solution 75% + phonska 250 kg/ha, dan M100: Coconut fiber MOL solution 100% +phonska 250 kg/ha. The results showed that the administration of coconut fiber MOL on thegrowth of mustard pakcoy plants in the concentration of coconut fiber MOL 75% + phonska 250kg / ha had an influence on plant height and for the concentration of coconut coir MOL 25% +phonska 250kg / ha had an influence on the number of leaves and weight wet even though thestatistical results show no significant difference. Keywords: Brassica rapa L., Solution, Coconut fiber MOL.
