Abstract

Drinking water is one of the important sources for the human body's needs to support activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the sanitary hygiene of food, the personal hygiene of handlers, and the content of E.Coli in drinking water in the canteen of Islamic university xxx north Sumatra. This study used descriptive survey research. The location of this study is a canteen at the Islamic university xxx, north Sumatra. The sample in this study was ten canteens and 300 students, where 30 students were interviewed in each canteen. The data analysis of this study is a descriptive univariate analysis and E.Coli laboratory test. The result of this study was that two canteens did not meet the sanitary requirements of equipment, ten did not meet the sanitary requirements of ready-made food, and four did not meet the sanitary requirements of housing. Of the ten food handlers, 10 in the ten canteens do not meet the personal hygiene requirements of food handlers. The results of the E.Coli test found that the drinking water in 10 canteens contained E.Coli with the lowest level of 4 CFU / 100ml and a maximum of 28 CFU / 100ml, which did not meet the drinking water quality requirements. Students' perceptions regarding food sanitation and handlers have been good, with an average score of 260.6%. It is expected that the government conduct inspections of canteens in schools or universities and for universities to evaluate each canteen to create healthy and good canteens.

Abstract

Background: Nowdays, Diarrhea still become main caused of sickness and mortality even toward babies and children. One of predisposition factor of dirrhea is extra breast feeding administered before 6 months in age. Aims: The aims of this research to obtain the correlation of extra breast feeding administered with diarrhea toward babies 0 12 months old in Lebiti Public Health Center (PHC), Togean Subdistrict. Methods: This is quantitative research with cross sectional approached. The total population about 214 of the women who have babies with 0 – 12 months old and got diarrhea disease experiences within last 2 years. The sampling only 61 women that taken by accidental sampling technique. The tools used by questioniarre and data analysed by chi-square test. Results: The result shown that have orrelation of extra breast feeding administered with diarrhea toward babies 0 12 months old in Lebiti Public Health Center (PHC), Togean Subdistrict of Tjo Una Una Regency with pvalue = 0,002. Conclusion: mother who give MP-ASI to babies regardless of age, frequency, portion, type, and method giving the right MP-ASI.

Abstract

Background: In Central Sulawesi, the percentage of short and very short toddlers is 20.4% and 11.9% respectively, higher than the national percentage of 19.3% and 11.5% (BPS Prop. Central Sulawesi, 2020). In the working area of ​​the Wani Health Center there were 198 stunting cases (UPTD Wani Health Center, 2020). Aims: to describe the determinants of stunting including maternal factors, child factors, family income and ownership of basic sanitation facilities in households with stunting cases. Methods: This research is a descriptive research. It will be held in April 2021. Data is collected by interviewing housewives and home observations. The number of samples is the total population, totaling 198 stunted children. The research instruments are in the form of questionnaires and questionnaires. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively. Results: Of the 198 cases of stunting in the PKM Wani work area in 2021, 88.9% have a lower family income than the UMR of Central Sulawesi Province; 75.3% have family latrines that are not sanitary; 53% of children are male; 40.4% first child; 67.7% of mothers are housewives, with a median age of 30 years, the youngest being 18 years and the oldest being 48 years. Conclusion: Of the 198 cases of stunting, 88.9% had a family income lower than the UMR of Central Sulawesi Province; 75.3% have family latrines that are not sanitary (the distance of the septic tank from the water source is less than 10 meters); 53% are male; 40.4% first child; 67.7% of mothers are housewives, with a median age of 30 years. It is hoped that this will increase cross-sector collaboration, so that income, food availability, and community insights will improve, especially for households with cases of stunting under five.

Abstract

Background: The high content of fatty acids in fast food can influence the body metabolism and may disturb the menstrual cycle. Meanwhile, in a state of stress, hormone in hypothalamus is stimulated that can disrupt the menstrual cycle. Aims: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between fast food consumption habits and stress levels with the menstrual cycle in female students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Methods: The method used in this study was an observational study with a cross sectional study design. The sample used was 85 respondents using the simple random sampling technique. Data collection used a food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) to determine fast food consumption, Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10) to determine stress levels and a menstrual cycle questionnaire to determine the respondent's menstrual cycle. Results: 45% of respondents are often consume fast food, 27% of respondents experience high level of stress and 60% of respondents experience irregular menstrual cycles. The results were obtained from the analysis using Person Product Moment test which showed a value of p = 0.726 (P> 0.05) for fast food consumption with menstrual cycles and a value of p = 0.396 (p> 0.05) for stress levels with menstrual cycles menstruation. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is no significant relationship between fast food consumption and the menstrual cycle and there is no relationship between stress levels and the menstrual cycle in female students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. This research is expected to increase awareness of the need to consume healthy foods that are low in fat and sugar and maintain stress which are good for the health of young women, especially reproductive health.

Abstract

Background: According to the 2014 World Health Organization, the causes of child stunting include maternal nutritional status, exclusive breastfeeding, inadequate food intake and infectious diseases. In addition, other factors that affect the nutritional status of stunting are maternal characteristics of age, education, occupation or height Aims: To describe the feeding parenting pattern and the level of education of the caregivers for stunting children. Methods: This research is a cross sectional descriptive study. The research population was all stunting children in the Tete Health Center working area with a total of 154 children with a sample of 61 people. The sampling technique used proportional random sampling. Data were obtained from respondents by means of interviews using questionnaires and univariate data analysis. Results: The results of the study showed that the parenting pattern of feeding stunting children was no IMD 95.1%, not exclusive breastfeeding 63.9%, complementary feeding at the age of 6-8 months with a frequency of 2.6 times/day with a total of 0.5 servings/day. , ages 9-11 months frequency is 3 times/day with a total of 0.75 servings/day, ages 12-23 months the frequency is 3 times/day with a total of 0.75 servings/day, texture does not match 63.9%, does not vary 100 %. Parenting related to cleanliness, namely mothers do not clean their children's teeth every day 68.9%, children do not wear shoes when playing outside the house 57.4%, mothers do not clean their children's milk bottles after use (who use) 68.9%, and the level of caregiver education is SMA/MA 82.0%. Conclusion: The conclusion of the feeding parenting pattern starting from IMD, exclusive breastfeeding, MP-ASI, and the level of education of the mother in the working area of ​​the Tete Health Center, Tojo Una-Una Regency is still low, the mother's education is on average high school/MA. It is suggested that the Tete Health Center is able to improve education and innovation programs about the importance of the role of feeding parenting in children.

Abstract

Background: Underweight is one of the major nutritional problems in Indonesia. In order to address nutrition issues, the government issued Presidential Instruction No. 1 on Supplementary Feeding in 1997. Foxtail millet is one of the crops with the potential to be developed as a source of carbohydrates to replace rice in order to strengthen food security. Food security as a carbohydrate source to replace rice. Rice bran and Foxtail Millet has the potential to contribute to Indonesia's food security. Aims: This study aims to determine the presence of antioxidant compound activity compounds qualitatively. Methods: This is a descriptive laboratory-based study. Laboratory examination includes screening for flavonoid, phenolic, and tannin compounds based on the selected formula that has been tested for acceptability, namely F17. Cookies will be extracted using methanol and tested with color change indicators using several reagents to determine the presence of flavonoids, phenolic compounds, and tannin compounds. Antioxidant activity was tested with the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) method. Results: The results showed that flavonoid, phenolic, and tannin compounds were detected in the cookie extract. As for antioxidant activity, it is categorized as moderate, with an IC50 value of 119.55 ppm. Conclusion: Through this study, it can be concluded that cookies substituted with Foxtail millet and Bran Rice flour have moderate antioxidant activity and contain several phytochemical compounds.

Abstract

Kebugaran jasmani yang baik merupakan hal penting yang harus dimiliki oleh mahasiswa Penjas karena pembelajaran yang menitikberatkan aktivitas fisik sehingga dituntut untuk memiliki tubuh dengan kondisi fisik baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meganalisis hubungan antara pola makan dan status gizi dengan tingkat kebugaran jasmani pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Jasmani (Penjas) angkatan 2022 Universitas Siliwangi, Tasikmalaya. Desain penelitian yang diterapkan adalah cross sectional atau penelitian potong lintang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 175 mahasiswa Penjas angkatan 2022 Universitas Siliwangi. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data adalah formulir food recall 2x24 jam, kuesioner Individual Dietary Diversity Score (IDDS), timbangan berat badan digital, microtoise, formulir pencatatan bleep test. Hasil data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden (52,6%) termasuk ke dalam tingkat kecukupan energi (TKE) kategori baik, sebagian besar (54,3%) responden termasuk ke dalam jumlah jenis bahan makanan kategori sedang, sebagian besar (58,3%) responden termasuk ke dalam frekuensi makan kategori baik, sebagian besar (73,1%) responden memiliki status gizi baik dan sebagian besar (52%) responden termasuk ke dalam tingkat kebugaran jasmani kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik TKE dengan status gizi diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,003 (<0,05). Nilai signifikansi jumlah jenis bahan makanan dengan status gizi adalah 0,000 (<0,05). Nilai signfikansi frekuensi makan dengan status gizi adalah 0,006 (<0,05). Nilai signifikansi status gizi dengan tingkat kebugaran jasmani adalah 0,003 (<0,05). Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara pola makan (TKE, jumlah jenis bahan makanan dan frekuensi makan) dan status gizi dengan tingkat kebugaran jasmani. Bagi responden penelitian diharapkan untuk memperhatikan pola makan dan tingkat kebugaran jasmaninya.

Abstract

Background: Gunung Putri Health Center is one of the produce of medical waste. The process of handling solid medical waste has problems at the stages of transportation and temporary storage. Aims: The purpose of this study is to determine the handling of solid medical waste, the infrastructure for handling solid medical waste, the science and action of healthy and cleaning workers. Methods: The research method used descriptive. Sampling technique using purposive sampling, the sample for this study is 27 people, there is 6 rooms observed produce solid medical waste. Results: The results showed that the generation of solid medical waste is 0.87 kg/day. Treatment of solid medical waste at the sorting stage 100% qualified, 67% of the requirements for the container stage, the in-situ transportation stage not qualified, the ex-situ transportation stage 100% qualified , the temporary storage stage not qualified, waste handling infrastructure facilities 100% qualified for solid medical sorting and storage stage, in-situ transportation stage and temporary storage stage are not eligible. Aspects of the knowledge of health and cleaning workers 25 respondents (92.6%) in the "good" category, 2 respondents (7.4%) in the "enough" category. The behavior aspect of the health of workers from 26 respondents was 100% in the "good" category, and the behavior of cleaners from 1 respondent was in the "less" category. Conclusion: The conclusion is that the handling of solid medical waste and infrastructure does not meet the requirements, the science and action of healthy workers is in a good category. The knowledge of the cleaning staff is in the sufficient category and the behavior is lacking. It is expected that in-situ transportation will be carried out every day or less than 1 day if the waste is filled with 3/4 of the volume of the container, increasing the availability of TPS at the Gunung Putri Health Center.

Abstract

Background: The largest demand for cooking oil in Indonesia is dominated by the use of coconut cooking oil with a breakdown of 8.954 million tons for palm cooking oil. Indonesia's most favorite food product is fried food. Fried food is one of the snacks that is always present when gathering. Examples of molen, fried tofu, fried tempeh, fried banana, fried bakwan, with deep frying methods that use a lot of oil, so that it has an impact on the use of cooking oil repeatedly and causes damage to cooking oil. Aims: aims to determine the chemical damage of used cooking oil based on the test parameters of water content, free fatty acid content and peroxide number content in accordance with the 2019 SNI palm cooking oil standard Methods: Descriptive non-experimental research is survey in nature, by collecting data interviews and questionnaires. This research was conducted in May-June 2023. The method of determining the sample is total sampling and univariate data processing. Results: The results showed that of the 10 samples of cooking oil used by fried food traders in private universities in Jambi City, there were 10% moisture content, 10% free fatty acid content and there were 100% peroxide number levels that did not meet the 2019 SNI standards. Conclusion: Of the 10 samples of used cooking oil from fried food traders in private universities in Jambi City, there was 1 sample of used cooking oil H that did not meet the 2019 SNI palm cooking oil quality standards

Abstract

Sexually transmitted infections are infections that are mostly transmitted through sexual intercourse, be it vaginal (through the vagina), anal (anus/rectum) or oral (by mouth) sex. Trichomonas vaginalis is a parasite that causes the most sexually transmitted diseases in the world. A sexually transmitted disease caused by Trichomonas vaginalis is Trichomoniasis. Commercial Sex Workers (PSK) whose job is to serve sexual activities with the aim of getting wages or money for their services is a route that plays a very important role in the transmission of various sexually transmitted diseases. This research was conducted to identify the protozoa Trichomonas vaginalis in the urine of commercial sex workers in Bitung City. This research is descriptive in nature, carried out by collecting primary data from observations and examinations in the laboratory. Purposive sampling and samples obtained as many as 30 samples from CSWs in Bitung city. Data from microscopic examination results can be presented in the form of tables or diagrams and narrated descriptively. Based on the results of the study, 9 positive samples were obtained with a presentation of 30% infected with Trichomonas vaginalis. The conclusion of this study is that Trichomonas vaginalis infection was found in commercial sex workers in Bitung
