Abstract

RPP is one of the things that determine the success of the learning process carried out by the teacher. This study aims to describe the suitability of the RPP material for the periodic system of elements with the demands of 21st century learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The data in this study are the RPP components contained in the PPG RPP which are downloaded on the Ministry of Education and Culture RI teacher sharing website and the chemistry teacher RPP at several schools in Banda Aceh. Data collection is done by using documentation technique, while data analysis is done by qualitative descriptive technique which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the PPG lesson plans contained on the teacher sharing website and the lesson plans developed by teachers at several schools in Banda Aceh were in accordance with the demands of 21st century learning. All lesson plans had integrated the elements required in 21st century learning, namely strengthening character education (PPK), Literacy, HOTS, and 4C (communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking). The elements of KDP that have been integrated into the RPP include religious values, independence, mutual cooperation, nationalism, and integrity. Next, the elements of literacy that are integrated are basic literacy, media literacy, technological literacy, and visual literacy. Furthermore, the HOTS element in lesson plans is shown by the use of operational verbs to analyze, evaluate, and compare several components of lesson plans, such as GPA and learning objectives. Then, the 4C component in the lesson plans has been demonstrated through learning activities in the form of discussions, presentations, and group assignments. Thus, it can be concluded that the lesson plans designed by teachers are in accordance with the demands of 21st century learning

Abstract

The quality of the evaluation instrument describes the quality of learning in schools. Teachers must be able to plan good evaluation instruments. The quality of the evaluation instrument can be assessed from three aspects, including the stimulus, the cognitive dimension, and the characteristics of higher thinking skills (HOTS). This study aims to analyze the teacher's science subject evaluation instrument based on the form of stimulus, cognitive dimensions, and HOTS characteristics. This research is descriptive quantitative, where the data is presented as a percentage and then described. Qualitative tests on the content of the stimulus are used to group the items into a certain stimulus form. The cognitive process dimension identification sheet was developed based on Bloom's revised taxonomy. The classification of HOTS questions uses the HOTS characteristic identification criteria. The results showed that most of the questions made by the teacher did not have a stimulus, the distribution of the cognitive process dimensions of the questions was uneven, and the questions made were not HOTS. Based on the results of the analysis, it is concluded that the teacher's evaluation instrument was poor

Abstract

This research is a pre-experimental study, namely the application of hybrid learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in low-grade science courses. The research subjects were 28 fourth semester students for the 2020-2021 academic year, STKIP PGRI Bangkalan PGSD Study Program. The design used is One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The purpose of the study was to describe hybrid learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in low-grade science courses. The results of the study, namely scientific skills experienced a significant increase in the medium category. The results of student responses to hybrid learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Low Grade Science course were positive. It can be said that hybrid learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in low-grade science courses is effective

Abstract

The online learning process creates problems that the practicum cannot be carried out during the online learning process. This problem has an impact on the decline in the level of understanding of students' scientific concepts and process skills. Researchers used a PhET-based STEM approach to overcome these problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the PhET-based STEM approach in improving students' conceptual understanding of physics subjects at SMA N 5 Banda Aceh. Data collection for this study was conducted in March. Analysis of the data used is a statistical test that is independent-t test. The results show that the use of the PhET-based STEM approach has a very positive impact on improving the understanding of physics concepts that are tested through objective tests. The results of the variable understanding of the concept can be seen from the N-Gain. In the concept understanding variable, the experimental class got a gain value of 0.6 and the control class was 0.5. Both fall into the medium category. So it can be concluded that the PhET-based STEM approach can improve students' conceptual understanding in physics.

Abstract

The survey results on teachers and students in six regencies/cities in Lampung Province showed that in science learning, teachers have not optimized the argumentative skills of students. Thus, this study aimed to develop and validate science worksheets oriented to the argumentative skills of students. This study used a 4D-study design with Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) learning model. A small-scale trial was conducted on 20 IX-graders at SMP 9 Krui Pesisir Barat. The large-scale trial was conducted on 50 IX-graders at SMP 9 Krui Pesisir Barat by purposive sampling with one experimental class and one control class. The control class used a worksheet from a particular publisher, and the experimental class used the developed worksheet. Based on the results, the ADI model worksheet can be declared valid in terms of content, construction, and language with an average of 92.3% with very high criteria. The practicality of the ADI worksheet model can be seen from the implementation of learning, student responses, and teacher responses had an average of 89.24% with very high criteria. The effectiveness of the ADI model worksheet can be seen from the ability to work on argumentation skills test questions, showing that the control class N-gain was 0.27 with low criteria and the experimental class was 0.57 with medium criteria. The effect size (SE) of 0.64 showed that the developed science worksheet was effective in developing argumentative skills of students with medium criteria

Abstract

Hymenopteran parasitoids are biological control agents that contribute mortality to economically important pest of oil palm plantations. In this research we investigated the diversity and abundance of Hymenopteran parasitoids at PT. Mopoli Raya, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Data were collected by adopted a purposive sampling method in mature and immature plantations by using light trap, malaise trap, and yellow-pan trap.  Specimens were identified at Universitas Syiah Kuala and final taxonomic confirmation was conducted at Gadjah Mada University.  We found that the species richness and evenness of the Hymenoptera parasitoid species in mature oil palm plantations tended to be higher than in immature plantations.  It is suspected that in immature oil palm plants (4 years) synthetic pesticide application is more intensive and it has a negative impact on the presence of parasitoids compared to the mature.

Abstract

Science teachers must be able to design learning to be able to accommodate demands 21st century learning. Therefore, a study was conducted that aims to analyze the profile of learning with DBL in high school science learning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method based on learning outcomes through information learning interviews conducted with teachers at the MA Boarding School As Sa'idah Sukabumi as many as 15 people. The results of the interviews showed that generally science teachers had apply the learning process with PBL, PjBL, and discovery learning models by using Process Approach, inquiry and concept. However, students have not demonstrate quality interactions to build critical thinking in accordance with which is expected. Furthermore, no teacher has implemented it yet STEM-based science learning. The results of interviews with teachers show 99% of teachers already familiar with STEM learning, but 65% have not applied it in learning. Meanwhile, the results of interviews with teachers found that DBL which is a marker of STEM learning has never been implemented in science class. Research result provide the need for science learning innovations using the approach DBL, given the highly prospective characteristics of DBL for establishing quality interactions, thinking, creative students and practice the ability to collaborate and communicate students, even in this Covid-19 pandemic situation
